About the property

Cottage in Llwyngwril, Snowdonia National Park, North Wales - Peaceful Village Location With Excellent Access To Mountains And Coast

Bryn Arfor is in a row of 5 individual character cottages on a quiet lane, close to the centre of Llwyngwril village. The lane is a dead end which becomes a bridleway up into the mountains - ideal for walkers and views of Cardigan Bay. Originally two small cottages, the accommodation comprises a large kitchen, living room, and three bedrooms, double, twin and single. The cottage has a log-burner which keeps it cosy and comfortable in Autumn and Winter, and supremely comfortable beds!!

Lovely cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cottage that is well equipped and cosy. We found there to be plenty of room and everything we could need for our stay including the logs for the wood burner. The village is well placed for exploring the surrounding area, we made use of the train which runs along the coast even out of season there is a regular service and great views over the wooden bridge to Barmouth. We only had a short break for 3 nights and could not do half of what is on offer. The

cottage is well stocked with maps and information for walkers , we had 2 teenage children with us so walking was not high on our agenda but you can do walks from the house and also walking down to the beach is easy too.

The owners were good at communicating with us before the stay and made everything easy. Would highly recommend the cottage for people of all ages

Wonderful Place to Rest in North Wales

  • 5 of 5

We have spend a wonderful week in this excellent, spacious home from home and enjoyed it very much. The cottage has lots of space and is very good equipped, including a huge collection of DVDs and books. The garden is really nice as well with great views on sun downing, although it is not directly by the house but some meters to go up the street. Everything was clean and comfortable. We recommend this house very much!

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your review, I'm pleased you enjoyed your stay at the cottage. The garden is at the end of the row of 4 cottages, about 15 meters from the cottage door up the quiet lane, the views from the garden are lovely and the sunsets are stunning.

Great cottage in a perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from the cottage and we had a great stay.

The cottage is well kept and clean with everything you need for your stay. The summer house and garden overlooking the village and out to sea was a perfect spot for a glass of wine in the evening.

The village has everything you need from a good pub that serves food, a railway station and a well stocked shop. It also has some good walks from the cottage, either on the Welsh coastal path (which goes past the front door) or down along the beach.

Overall it is a highly recommended and we will stay there again when we visit that part of Wales.

Owner's Response: I'm delighted you had a good stay and enjoyed the summer house and garden. You can follow the coast path north across the Barmouth bridge, the views over the Mawddach Estuary are amazing, or south down to Aberdovey. You are able to pick up a train from both places back to the cottage.

Fantastic Cottage

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely, well equipped cottage. My wife enjoyed the bottle of Prosecco left as a welcome and the other little touches like a plentiful supply of firewood were nice too, particularly during a cold February week. The kids liked the fire so much they didn't want to leave the house. Basically, a perfect little place, can't recommend it enough!

Cosy cottage

  • 5 of 5

We had been to the area many times before, mainly through day trips to Barmouth but also school trips when we were younger to fairbourne and arthog; staying so close really brought back the memories.

The cottage was the perfect base to explore the area with a stroll along fairbourne beach, crossing the bridge into Barmouth and also enjoyed a walk up to the blue lagoon.

The cottage was brilliant with the weather outside not so. We shut ourselves away in the cottage with the log burner on and relaxed on the big cosy sofas with no worries of home and an extensive dvd collection. There was everything you could possibly need for a comfortable stay.

There was a travel guide in the kitchen which gave detailed options of various different activities to do in the surrounding area and other useful information.

The views from the garden were spectacular overlooking fairbourne and estuary mouth.

We could not recommend this cottage highly enough. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Weekend retreat

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived we felt relaxed. The cottage is set in a beautiful location with lovely views - especially from the garden. We arrived early evening on the Friday leaving us enough time to get the log burner on and to cook a meal in the fabulous fully equipped kitchen before relaxing in the living room. The only downside of our stay was when we had to leave! We can't wait for our next visit.
