Comfort, cleanliness, location!

We stayed at Shore House for a fantastic sunny week in June, with my wheelchair user Mum. Booking any new accommodation can be daunting when you have specific mobility needs, however the owner was most helpful with our enquiries before booking, and the property proved to be perfect for our needs.

There is level access into the front of the property, and the tile floor and open plan layout makes it easy to navigate with a wheelchair. Both downstairs toilet and bedroom ensuite have grab rails. There is a step down into garden, and up to decking but these were easy enough to move Mum over, although I may take my portable ramp when we return.

The location is just amazing, and despite the lovely beachfront setting it was very peaceful.

The house is the cleanest and most comfortable I have been to in 20 or so years of self catering holidays! The kitchen was well equipped (including dishwasher which is fab).

Thank you so much for a lovely break, and we will definitely be returning!

Coast/Beach:

50 yards to a shingle and sandy beach. 10 mins easy walk to the village. There are three main beach areas one shingle and two shingle and sand. Wonderful sunrise at East Beach. Fantastic sunsets South and West beach.

Selsey Lifeboat Station is within walking distance and opens to visitors.

Travel:

Nearest sea port Portsmouth. - 20 miles. Southampton - 50 miles.

Nearest airport Southampton - 50 miles. Gatwick 50 miles.

Nearest main Line train station - Chichester 8 miles.

Nearest bus Terminal Chichester 8 miles.

Nearest bus stop 50 yards.

Distances:

All amenities are available within the village including an excellent baker and butchers, fish & chips shops, cafes, Chinese, Indian and Tapas restaurants, a selection of pubs and supermarkets. Cathedral City of Chichester (good shopping, Festival Theatre and a bowling and cinema complex) 8 miles, Portsmouth (Historic Dockyard, and outlet village) 25 miles,Ferry to the Isle of Wight. The Witterings (sandy beach) 7 miles, Goodward 12 miles. Chichester has a good rail link to London 11/2 journey

Further Details:

The village has a array of all year round pubs and restaurants, eg. The Seal, The lifeboat. It also has a large leisure facility with swimming pool and gym etc to the West of the village. Bird watching is in abundance with Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve close by. There is good fishing to be had from the shore and Charter boats.Freshly caught fish is available to the public directly from the small fishing fleet on the East Beach daily. There is also a Dive Centre in the village as well as bike hire for miles of safe cycling. Selsey is a popular destination for people attending the Goodward fixtures close by including The Revival, Festival of speed and World Class horse racing.

Further afield there is Fishborne Roman Villa, Arundel Castle, Cosmopolitan city of Brighton. A day trip to the Isle of Wight is always a fun packed day with plenty to see and do including Queen Victoria's Osborne House.

  • Notes on accommodation: We welcome well behaved pets who have their relevant immunisations and up to date flea and tick treatments (as we do not want any unwanted guests after your stay!!!). Please do not leave your pets unattended in the main house as this could not only lead to damage to the property but could be distressing for your pet. There is an extra £25 charge per pet. Please bring your pets bedding etc as no pets are allowed on the furniture i.e. beds, sofa’s or in bedroom areas. Sorry no smoking allowed inside property. Outside: A large South facing fully enclosed bricked weaved patio garden, with gate leading out towards beach area. With secluded decked area with large stone BBQ ideal for sunbathing and outside dining. Patio table and chairs.
