Belle Vue in Bourg St Maurice, Savoie, Rhone-Alpes, France - Excellent Central Location, 5 Minutes Walk From The Station, Les Arc Funicular and Town

The apartment is modern and well maintained, the location is perfect for the snow train, being a few minutes walk from the main station and the Funicular station to Arc 1600. It has secure underground parking for two cars and a secured storage for ski or cycle equipment. As well as skiing in the winter there is a great range of activities available during the summer season, with the chair lifts open to mountain bikers. The apartment is on the second floor with good access and a lift, that is suitable for pushchairs. There is a well appointed kitchen including a dishwasher and all facilities you would need for a fully self catered holiday, in the utility area there is also a washing machine and drying rack. The apartment benefits from free high speed Wi-Fi, a flat screen TV and DVD/Blu-ray player, and an XBox Kinect. Outside on the balcony we have a table and outdoor furniture, in the warm weather it's perfect for a relaxing evening in acompanied by some excellent local wine.

Please note, linens and towels are available at an additional cost, they are not included in the price.

Travel:

The nearest airport is Chambery, approx a 90 minute drive. Geneva is around a 120 minute drive away. The snow train terminal is about 500 meters away of if you fancy driving down it's around an 11 hour drive from the south of England.

We're an active family of five and have dreamed of owning a place in the mountains for our holiday home, all keen skiers/boarders Bourg-St-Maurice seemed to offer a fantastic variety of resorts to keep us busy! Plus a whole heap to do in the summer!

Why Stephen Ford chose Les Arcs area

Bourg Saint Maurice is perfect location, situated among the best skiing in Europe. Fantastic on and off piste skiing abounds the area. After looking at many properties in various resorts Bourg-St-Maurice seems to have it all. Very easy access to Les Arc and surrounding resorts with a huge range of summer activities. The deciding factor was the Eurostar terminal and having a direct train from the UK almost to our doorstep. The apartment is a very short walk from the station and funicular, and walking distance to bars and restaurants.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment is situated right near the station, perfect for those wanting to take the train, no need for transfers! If you prefer to drive it has two underground parking spaces in a secured garage, great for those wanting to bring expensive bikes in the summer. It also comes with a ski cave with ample space for ski equipment.

Location

There are many activities in the local area that cover both the winter and summer seasons. In the winter there are the obvious ski areas, the closest being 7 minutes away by funicular. Then Tignes and Val d'isere are on the doorstep, with Tinges le Lac being only a 30 minute drive away.

In the summer, the lifts of Les Arc are running and provide access to some breathtaking scenery and access to first class mountain biking trails, rock climbing, parascending and hiking. At Arc1800 there is an excellent golf course and indoor/outdoor swimming pools at Mile8, a recent development in the area to cater for the expanding summer season.

In Bourg St Maurice there are plenty of restaurants and bars, the town is the capital of the local region and is open all year round. There is good fishing available a very short walk from the apartment, along with a skate park, indoor and outdoor swimming pools. There are some cycling and walking trails along the river isere and through the forests in the valley which are perfect for families with younger children plus the river is very shallow in parts allowing for paddling and safe playing in the water.

A short drive from Bourg there is a kayaking and white water rafting centre, offering some of Europe's best white water, the river is used by the ECB for training. Again Tignes is a great destination for a day out in the summer as well as the winter, the lake at Tignes is open for water sports, including paddle boarding, zorbing, kayaking, canoeing, pedalos and for the brave you can be launched off a giant air cushion into the lake! In addition to the water sports there are many children's activities, including bouncy castles an excellent playground, tennis, basketball and football courts. We always make a point of spending a day in Tinges every summer when we visit Bourg St Maurice.

Notes:
Notes on accommodation: Utility Room: Small utility room for extra food storage, contains a high chair, hoover, washing machine and cleaning equipment. Other: The ski room in the basement is a good size, more than ample room for 10 sets of skis/boards. In the summer it can be used to fit a few bikes and there are bike racks for hanging additional bikes, although the underground car park is itself secured and has ample room for bikes.

Great apt in town

The apartment is spacious with 3 bedrooms and two baths. It is walking distance to restaurants and shops. We were on a bicycling vacation and could ride right from the apartment. The owner quickly responded to our questions. His directions for access to the apartment were very detailed which was perfect. It has 3 balconies which are great for relaxing and a large dining table and 3 couches. Good wifi. Plenty of room! The underground garage was a challenge as we had a van which barely fit- for a car it would work fine. Definitely will recommend this.

Clean, airy, spacious and bright apartment with easy access to the local ski slopes!

A simply lovely apartment, bright and spacious. No train noise, despite its proximity to the train lines which was a very pleasant surprise. Might be a bit noisier in summer months if you have the windows open though, we were there in the ski season. The apartment is in close proximity to some great shopping, bistro restaurants and obviously, the Funicular. We rented ski and boot storage at the ski shop at the Funicular, run by a fabulous Scottish couple who are so helpful.

The apartment is well stocked, clean and the bedrooms are ample in size for 8 persons. There are massive built in cupboards for storage.

My only reservation for anyone driving to the apartment with a top box on their car is to be aware that your car will NOT fit in the car park with the box in-situ. We simply removed ours and stored it in the ski locker in the car park though.

Ann from Wales. An extremely comfortable apartment.

The apartment is situated close to the funicular, local bars and restaurants. It was extremely comfortable and well equipped. We enjoyed a very pleasant holiday and would certainly recommend this apartment as we hope to also return in the future.

A very good bakery and Lidl store is very close to the apartment. Bourg is a lovely town with a choice of good restaurants.

A great apartment, with everything you could need.

We were seven adults staying for a weeks skiing holiday, the apartment was more than adequate in size and had everything you could want. It is a maximum of a five minute walk to all the amenities including the funicular up to the slopes. The skiing in les arc is great with some wide slopes to suit every ability. There are some great restaurants in Bourg St Maurice and at a reasonable price. We ate in the apartment several evenings and there is loads of space around the very large table and everything you need to prepare and cook a meal for seven. All in all a great stay

Changeover Day:
Saturday is changeover day. It fits in with the snow train schedule, that arrives twice a day on Saturdays during the ski season. Departure time is at 10am and arrival time at 4pm on your chosen day. I can try to accommodate other times.
