About the property

Gorgeous Newly Converted Coach House, Dinder, Nr Wells + Glastonbury, Somerset - 2 Miles From the City Of Wells. Bath, Bristol, Glastonbury all within easy reach

Many of our 5 star reviews have highlighted how relaxing it is staying at the Coach House. If you need a peaceful break away from it all then this is the place.

For more information please see our website www.thecoachhouseholiday.co.uk.

The detached, stone built Coach House has been recently and beautifully converted and provides that perfect peaceful and relaxing break, much needed at this time of the year. Keeping as many of the features as possible, pretty windows, white washed walls and beams, the beautiful Coach House retains charm but combines convenience and luxury.

It has underfloor heating throughout, with dimmable lighting allowing you to set the mood, cosy or bright and airy. It sleeps 2 with a gorgeous king-size bed, beautiful chandelier and soft white bed linen in a large bedroom. The fresh, contemporary en-suite has a large walk-in shower and soft fluffy towels.

The property has a separate lounge, (who says a place for two should compromise on space), complimented by Smart TV, DVD and of course, WiFi.

The spacious, designer farmhouse kitchen has a dishwasher, induction hob, oven, fridge, toaster, microwave and digital radio. There is enough pots and pans for those who like to spend time cooking and enough crockery etc to cater for 4.

When the sun shines why not use the private garden for a bit of alfreso dining.

The Coach House is 2 miles from Wells and a great place from which to explore Bath or Bristol, for shopping, entertainment and culture. Visit unique Glastonbury with its Tor or quirky Frome with its great independent market (on the first Sunday of the month, March - December). Don't forget Wells with its magnificent Cathedral, independent shops and coffee houses.

The local pub has again won the Bath CAMRA Rural pub of the year 2015. We provide a torch so you can walk the 15 minutes it takes to sample the beer and fabulous food and then get home again in the dark! Most of our guest have taken up this opportunity.

Dinder nestles on the southern slopes of the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is one of England's most special places. A great place to relax or take in the scenery with a plethora of walks or cycle rides. For those keen on golf there are two Golf courses within 3 miles of the Coach House.

We are in a great location for parents visiting 'boarders' at the following schools: Millfield Prep (15 mins), Millfield (20 mins), Downside School (15 mins), Wells Cathedral School (5 mins), All Hallows Prep (15 mins).

The following local attractions are also nearby: Bath & West Showground, Wookey Hole Caves, Glastonbury Festival Site, Kilver Court Designer Village and the Mulberry Factory Shop. Bath and Bristol are both a 45 minute drive away.

All in all, a great place to stay.

About Rachel Wylie

Purchased in 2012, the conversion of the Coach House has been a labour of love. We have tried to keep the essence of the building whilst giving it a new lease of life. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Rachel Wylie purchased this cottage in 2012

Why Rachel Wylie chose Saint Cuthbert Out

Dinder is a very special place, we have lived here for twelve years and still feel like we are on holiday, we would like you to feel the same.

The Coach House is a cosy romantic retreat set in a beautiful Somerset village. No street lights, no through traffic...... Heaven.

What makes this cottage unique

Cosy and warm in the winter, yet cool and bright in the Summer, this is truly your year round holiday destination. No through road or street lights, so very peaceful and you can see the stars at night.

Guestbook comments from the owner

It is a real honour to be the first to stay at The Coach House, Rachel made us feel really welcome from the minute we arrived. We were shown around and presented with some local goodies to enjoy.

My wife and I chose the Coach House as we wanted a quiet weekend in the country where we could relax in peace and we were not disappointed. Rachel made luxury accommodation which keeps its rustic charm.

Rachel has lovingly converted the Coach House to the highest standard and has created luxury accommodation whilst preserving it's rustic charm.

Downstairs is a fully equipped kitchen / dining room with a stable door which is the perfect place to prepare breakfast and read the morning paper.

Upstairs is a cosy living area with smart TV, wifi, a selection of books and DVDs. It also boasts the cutest window which let's the morning light flood in.

The bathroom is stylishly finished with a walk in rainfall shower which is the ideal way to wash up after a long walk.

The Coach House is situated in the idyllic hamlet of Dinder, a 2 minute drive or pleasant cross country walk to the city of Wells where there is a supermarket to pick up the essentials, several coffee shops, deli's and pubs. We particularly enjoyed hot chocolates soaking up the views of the picturesque Bishops Palace.

Croscombe is a small village approx a mile away where you will find the local pub The George who serve several real ales and local ciders as well as a comprehensive menu of home cooked food. The village store is surprisingly well stocked with fresh eggs, bread, sausages and bacon etc, which we took full advantage of.

For those looking for a treat and are willing to venture a little further ' The Pig near Bath' is a forty minute drive away. The food was amazing, much of which is grown in the on site garden which you can wander around around.

We cannot recommend The Coach House highly enough and will definitely be visiting again.

November 2014

This cottage is perfect for anyone looking for a lovely few days away in Somerset. It is a great size and the pictures really do not do it justice. It is tastefully decorated and set in idyllic surroundings.

It is a five minute drive from Wells city centre where we enjoyed looking round the Cathedral and the quaint shops. It is also in walking distance to the nearest pub where we had a lovely meal.

Overall we were very impressed with The Coach House and with its many personal touches we were made to feel at home. We would highly recommend this property.

Lovely stay in a lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

The coach house was beautifully presented, clean, tidy and a very nice welcom pack of goodies on arrival. The owner, Rachel was there to greet us, show us around and to give us any information about the area we might need. We loved Wells and Glastonbury Tor and Glastonbury Abbey ruins and were out every day even though Storm Doris was around! Definitely be back as so much to see and do in this area.

Very well equipped and furnished. Fantastically comfortable bed. Well situated in rural Somerset

  • 5 of 5

Very warm welcome from Rachel, nice treats to settle us in. Despite the weather being bitterly cold we tackled the footpath across the fields to Wells, nearly came unstuck or rather stuck due to underfoot conditions but made it to the palace grounds. We self catered but there are plenty of eateries in the area.

Excellent cosy bolt-hole in rural Somerset close to City of Wells

  • 5 of 5

The Coach House is a wonderfully cosy and well appointed property ideal for a couple like us wishing to explore the City of Wells and the surrounding area. All the necessary elements were here to make this a home from home during our week long stay. Rachel is a lovely host, and she made the extra effort to ensure we got the most out of our week. There were some nice touches like local cider and bread there for us to enjoy on arrival. Highlights for us were the walk across the fields from Dinder to Wells and beyond to the Ebbor Gorge, walking up to Glastonbury Tor and also walking along the coastal path from Watchet to Minehead (returning by Steam Train). I would recommend this area and in particular, this property to couples looking for a relaxing but fulfilling break.
