Guestbook comments from the owner

Having booked this accommodation from Australia, I was a little nervous as to whether I had done the right thing, but as soon as I arrived my worries evaporated! From the great welcome by the owners Hazel and Stephen, to the thoughtful touches such as wine, chocolate, eggs, butter and bread awaiting our arrival, right through to the high quality of the decor – the place is very welcoming.

There are so many places to visit nearby such as Stonehenge, Salisbury Cathedral and a range of beaches within a 30 minute drive, this is the perfect holiday location. There is some of the best fishing in the country on the river Avon (200 yards away) and a lovely country pub with a great pub garden and great value food – this is perfect for those who don’t want to drink and drive!

Wonderful Relaxing Break

  • 5 of 5

Relaxing breaks are hard to come by with two children under 3, but this was surely as close as is possible. With grandparents, we shared both cottages, and each was delightful and extremely well appointed, from a well-equipped kitchen to comfortable beds and a living room with plenty to keep all ages entertained. The fridge and cupboards were stocked with the components of a properly hearty breakfast, which set everyone up for a day's exploring.

The pub opposite was very accommodating, delivering food (to the door!) and the whole area was peaceful, fun to explore, and yet only 10 mins from the centre of Salisbury by car.

Stephen was an excellent host and kindly let our daughter use their trampoline, which made the holiday for her, while she treasured the egg she was able to collect from their chickens.

Would heartily recommend for a break, we hope to return next time we are back in the UK (from Hong Kong)

Fabulous weekend break in this perfect cottage.

  • 5 of 5

Well what can I say, Stephen and Hazel are the most welcoming and warm hosts. They have the most beautiful cottage that from the moment we arrived my husband, best friend, her husband, their .little toddler and I felt right at home. If only my home had such an amazing pub literally on the other side of the road that will actually bring over your food orders to the cottage. I really cannot say enough good things about the cottage with such attention to detail that we really did not even expect. Stephen and Hazel were amazing and nothing seemed too much. We cannot wait to go back. Thank you again definitely 5 star!!

Wish we'd stayed for longer...

  • 5 of 5

We spent last weekend at this beautiful cottage. The pictures don't do it justice as they don't show the lovely high ceilings and exposed beams, the gorgeous armoire wardrobes or the incredible rain shower! The building has been renovated to an extremely high standard and all of the furniture and furnishings are luxurious and stylish. The owner Stephen was really welcoming and clearly proud of the cottage. He had provided bread, croissants, milk, jams, coffees and other things to make the weekend as easy as possible. The lovely country pub opposite was great. We went to Longleat safari park which was about 30 minutes away but wish we'd been able to stay longer to enjoy the area and visit the nearby beaches. We will return.

So nicely done....

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I and our dog found this lovely ground floor level cottage in the grounds of the owners home - quite lovely. It's finished to a very high standard and everything is so well catered for. Set in a very pretty village and with a decent pub directly across the road, that is open all day. The walks around there are delightful, the river Avon is everywhere you look and the village is only 10 minutes from historic Salisbury. The owners are a very unintrusive, accommodating couple, who cannot do enough to ensure you have a perfect stay. Beds are comfy, the place is spotless and the accommodation is versatile to allow great space for a family. Whilst there is no actual garden, the owners very kindly let us walk in the fields to the rear of the property and we hope to come back again in spring to perhaps do some fishing at the end of the garden! Thoroughly recommend to couples, friends or small families - a versitile, safe space. Great for Stone Henge, Country Walks, Getting Away from it all, Fishing, being out of mobile phone signal (not being disturbed)! The lady owner is also an extraordinary artist, who does exquisite portraits of people, dogs and horses....
