Horseshoe Cottage Sleeps 4 (3 Bedrooms)

1 Double and 2 single bedrooms. Fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker, microwave, washing machine and fridge-freezer. Separate dining area. Downstairs bathroom with shower, wc and basin. Comfortable lounge with leather sofas. All linen provided. Heating available in all rooms. Large gardens and parking adjacent to property.

About the property


'Horseshoe' and 'Grooms' are two semi-detached, granite cottages, originally built for farm workers. Modernised to a high standard, yet retaining much of the original character, they provide comfortable accommodation within a rural setting. Only a 5 minute drive to the A30 and within a 1 1/2 mile radius there is access to shops, post office, pubs, train and bus stops - easily accessible by foot or by car. Only 3 miles from St Ives town with its cobbled streets, award-winning restaurants, wonderful shops, art galleries and beaches. Ideal location for birdwatchers, walkers or to use as a base to explore all the delights of West Cornwall and beyond.

Please note that we operate on a Friday changeover, although short breaks can be available during off-peak periods - please enquire direct for more information and quotes.

About Tanya Rogers

I was born in St Ives, and have lived in the area for all of my life...and couldn't imagine living anywhere else! We live on the family farm where the cottages are situated - my husband, Jason, is one of many generations of Rogers' who have farmed the land here. We love living here, and enjoy our gardening and grow as much as of our own veg as we can and we take pride in our holiday cottages and clean and maintain them ourselves, giving that personal touch which I think our visitors really appreciate.

Our cottages are situated on our farm, and are in a quiet location but at the same time you are only 5 minutes by car to the main A30, and 3 miles from the bustling town of St Ives. Personally supervised, you can trust that when you arrive, the properties will be clean and comfortable. A cream tea and fresh flowers will also be waiting for you.

What makes this cottage unique

We have a high number of return visitors - some of whom have been coming for years - and Trevethoe really does seem to be somewhere where you can feel 'at home'. A quiet place to retreat to after a busy day sightseeing - and with on-site parking and generous gardens it really does tick a lot of boxes. Also, if you should experience any problems, or need help with anything, we only live a stone's throw away so are easily accessible should you need us!

We always have a list of things we want to see and do whilst here - we manage some and some have to wait for next year! Beautiful and peaceful cottage in perfect location with stunning views

We had a fantastic 3 week stay in Horseshoe cottage. We received a lovely warm welcome on our arrival from Tanya who was always very helpful and happy to answer any questions we had. The cottage was spotlessly clean and was fully equipped with everything you could need. The cream tea and fresh flowers were such a kind, personal touch after our long journey. The cottages are beautifully maintained and have lots of lovely finishing touches. The cottage is very spacious and homely with beautiful views perfectly located in a very peaceful location but very close to local beaches & St Ives. We loved our stay here and were very sad to leave and cannot wait for our return next year. Many thanks again to Tanya and Jason for our lovely stay.

We are approximately 2 miles from the beaches of Carbis Bay and Porthkidney. 3 miles away is the town of St Ives where you can find a number of beaches including Porthmeor (good for surfing) and Porthminster (located just below the St Ives train station). We are within easy reach of the coastal footpath which takes you on a picturesque route to St Ives. Also close by are the 3 miles of golden sands of Hayle which stretch around to Gwithian and Godrevy. Plenty of activities to take part in based on and around the coast and beaches, or just enjoy walking and admiring the view.


The cottages are only a 5 minute drive from the main A30, and a similar distance to St Erth train station. Newquay Airport 35 miles away.


Only approximately 1 mile from the village of Lelant. A number of eating places are within easy reach including The Watermill, Birdies Bistro, The Badger Inn, Scarletts and The Old Quay House. Only a 5 minute drive to the main A30, which gives you easy access to the many other attractions in the area, such as St Michael's Mount, The Minack Open Air Theatre, The Eden Project, Land's End as well as the cathedral city of Truro. Within walking distance of Hayle Estuary, popular with birdwatchers
