The cottage benefits from a private parking spaces as well as easy on-road parking. Freeview TV is available as is free WIFI.

“Fantastic cottage and location”

5 of 5 stars

Reviewed September 2, 2014

Just returned from a lovely few days stay at Yew Tree Cottage. Excellent location within a few minutes walk of shops and pubs. Cottage had everything for a relaxing break, very clean and cosy feeling to the place. Stayed with my husband, 12 year old daughter and Cocker Spaniel. Hope to stay here again soon.

“Everything we wanted for our 'girlie' Short Break”

Reviewed June 2, 2014

I stayed at Yew Tree Cottage with 2 friends from Germany as a base for our Cotswold discovery tour. The Cottage was perfect for the 3 of us, a real 'Home from Home'. It is very tastefully decorated with a lot of attention to detail. The location was perfect, in a quiet street but within easy walking distance to the centre with lovely shops, pubs and restaurants. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage and the beauty and quaintness of the Cotswold.

What a lovely stay we had at the Yew Tree Cottage. The cottage is really near to everything and contains of everything you'll need for a nice holiday stay. Our little family of 3 enjoyed every bit of it. We can highly recommend Stow on the Wold and Yew Tree Cottage, a perfect hideaway in beautiful country side of Cotswold. Now back in Sweden we miss all the nice flowers, pubs and historic walks around the city.

Ideal location, close to the centre.

Enjoyed our stay, although the extremely cold weather was a shame. Once we got the log burner it was very cosy. Had a very good meal in The Porch House and The Prince of India and a tasty take away from the Chinese.

Great holiday in charming comfortable cottage near centre of Stow

  • 5 of 5

We felt very much at home in David's lovely cottage.

The location is perfect. Nearest pub 2 minutes walk, Stow centre 5. Walks to Bourton or the Slaughters start from your front door. Broadway just 10 miles away. Most places of interest are just a short drive.

The cottage itself was not only charming it is also comfortable and practical.

All arrangements regarding directions, check in and check out went very smoothly. David was very easy and straightforward to deal with.

Would highly recommend for couples and families alike.

Improve your communication protocols or delete "Direct" from your name.

  • 3 of 5

We enjoyed the cottage in many respects and are certainly grateful for that. The ground floor WC, however, did not flush properly, intermittently; and, because of unusually warm weather, the bedrooms were hot. I was staying on the second (top) floor and (with no fan) sleep was impossible until about 1:00 a.m. The weather was obviously beyond your control, but an electric fan in each bedroom would have helped a lot. The main problem was the absence of direct contact with the owner or with another responsible human being. Trying to communicate with your website was like talking to a wall. To begin with, I never could determine the exact address, specifically the street number. My inquiry about that went unanswered---until, after having tried the keybox passcode and found that it worked on #1, we moved in, THEN we received a welcome message that contained information we could have used earlier. After we had moved in and discovered the problems I have already mentioned, I wrote to ask that the downstairs WC be tended to and I requested fans. No response: nada. That is unacceptable. All in my party of four have traveled widely and have never experienced such a complete lack of communication. We liked Yew Tree Cottage #1, generally; but I for one would never again book a vacation rental through Owners Direct unless you had improved your website and, especially, made it possible to communicate directly with a real (and responsible) person in real time. The "Direct" in your name is a complete misnomer.

The Perfect Cotswold Home

  • 5 of 5

David's "cottage" was the perfect place for my husband and I to live while exploring the Cotswolds. The location of the home is very near the town centre but removed enough to have us feel we were living in the neighbourhood. The house is decorated with comfort and taste in mind and extremely clean. We cooked most of our meals and it was a treat to use a kitchen as well-equipped as my own. There was even a selection of herbs and spices which always helps a cook be inventive. We loved Stow-on-the-Wold and could have spent more time there if we had not been out walking. We had a brief and very pleasant encounter with David. It was a wonderful holiday. Thank you David!

Yew Tree Cottage, Stow-on-the-Wold.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely couple of days in this really beautifully appointed cottage. The cottage was very well appointed and immaculate.

The Bell at Stow is an excellent pub / restaurant and welcomed our dog too. New England Coffee House was also excellent and dog friendly.

We would also certainly recommend a trip to The Slaughters for a walk and some lunch at The Slaughters Country Inn.

A lovely area which we have returned to many times and would highly recommend both this property and the area.
