About the property

Apartment in St Ives, Cornwall, England - Brilliantly Central Location On Fore St. Ives, Moments From The Beaches, Galleries, Shops

In the very heart of St. Ives, Lowen (the apartment) is a 'cute as a button', cottage style, one bedroom flat with charming period features. Lowen has recently been interior design re-furnished to a very high standard and is a great combination of boutique style and comfort. It is within easy walking distance of all of the beautiful beaches in St.Ives. Situated on the bustling main shopping street (Fore Street) it is ideally located for anyone wanting to experience St. Ives with everything on their doorstep and you are right at the centre of everything. The Barbara Hepworth museum, the Tate and a host of other art galleries, the ancient harbour front with the fishing boats are all a stroll away. There is a choice of 5 beautiful beaches in town as well as a wide range of restaurants from fine dinning to local favourites. You are free to wander the cobbled streets or relax on the beach and return to the cosy charm of Lowen. As the Owner my aim is to give guests a really great stay with personal touches. Previous guests comments have ranged from 'perfect location' and 'home from home' to 'absolutely delightful'.' There is free unlimited WiFi. Towels, bed linen and welcome pack included. Small well-behaved dogs accepted (1 per stay) October - March by prior agreement only, there is a £25 dog charge, dog bed provided. Dogs are not accepted during the Summer months. There is no parking at Lowen but the nearest long stay car park is Barnoon car park, a few minutes walk away. There is also space to unload your car outside Lowen on Fore Street. See Cornwall Council Website under St. Ives Car Parking for details on car park locations and charges. There are 5 long stay council run long stay car parks in St.Ives. Short breaks (minimum 3 night stay) are available usually low season at a cost of £80 per night. Short breaks also accepted over the Christmas and New Year period at a cost of £85 per night. Please note that it is weekly stays only during April-September and there is a Friday changeover.

About Sam Barton

Hi I'm Sam and I've lived with my family in the St.Ives area for many years now. I own and manage Lowen myself and know what a difference this can make to a holiday experience. As a family we enjoy the outdoor lifestyle that Cornwall offers and are lucky to have the choice of so many lovely beaches in the St.Ives area. I enjoy the artistic heritage of the town and often go to see the displays at the Tate. I truly think St.Ives is a perfect holiday destination because of the mixture of beautiful scenary and beaches, picturesque town and great places to eat and shop. As a local I'm happy to advise guests on any questions they may have from where to eat to places to go!

Why Sam Barton chose St Ives area

Our property is a cottage style apartment in the heart of St.Ives. It's Fore Street location means that you literally step out of the flat into town. The shops, bars, cafes, restaurant and beaches are moments away. It's lovely to wander down to the old harbour front, have a drink outside 'The Sloop' and watch the fishing boats come in.

What makes this apartment unique

The flat is stylish and has a quirky charm typical of the older properties found in St.Ives. It also has all the modern conveniences i.e. well equipped kitchen and spacious ensuite bathroom. The central location means you can just nip out and come back if you want. I love to sit on sofa under the window watching the hustle and liveliness in the street below.

Guestbook comments from the owner

How fortunate to find this cosy apartment. Lovely décor and such attention to detail. Have had a really relaxing break. Even the weather has been kind to us. Can't wait to return!! The tea, coffee, milk and wine much appreciated. Looking forward to our next visit.

Pleasant stay

  • 4 of 5

Was very impressed with location and size of apartment. Was just as described. Would definitely recommend.

Some very small criticism, was the size of the TV as I had trouble viewing it. Mrs W says a washer dryer would be a good alternative and a roller blind would have been beneficial on the front door.

However none of these things would stop us from booking again.

Excellent.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review Peter, I'm glad you had a pleasant stay. Sorry you found the TV to be small, it is a standard 22 inch and as it is wall mounted that size suits the space. Although perhaps this is not what you are used to! Just to mention too that Lowen does indeed have a washer/dryer washing machine. Also the glass section in the front door is opaque so you are unable to see through and lets the light through, although I will certainly consider a blind if I receive more comments! Thanks again for the feedback, you are most welcome to return to Lowen. Best Wishes Sam.

Lovely apartment

  • 5 of 5

Lowen is a very pleasant, well equipped apartment in an ideal location, on the doorstep of all the lovely restaurants and cafes, but also the two beautiful beaches. It is in a very busy little street, so obviously not the place to stay if you are looking for a quiet retreat, but I think most people are out and about much of the time enjoying the many beautiful sights in the area. The wine we found on arrival was delicious- thank you very much for that Sam and also for the milk left in the fridge- a very thoughtful touch.

Owner's Response: Hi Cathy thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review and for the five stars. I'm so pleased you enjoyed your stay. As you rightly say Lowen is in the heart of the action in town so perfectly placed for the shops, restaurants and beaches. I'm glad you liked the wine and milk. You are most welcome to return! Best wishes, Sam.

Beautiful week away in an amazing location.

  • 5 of 5

Lowen is such a beautiful holiday home right in the centre of St.Ives, my boyfriend and I couldn't have asked to stay anywhere more convenient for ease of access to all of the shops, the beach and the harbour. I particularly enjoyed being less than a minutes walk away from an amazing bakery and being able to buy fresh croissants in a morning. Lowen is filled with everything you could possibly want and need for a holiday, it's a real home from home. So beautifully decorated and cozy whilst being surprisingly roomy at the same time. The bottle of wine and card were a really lovely touch to be greeted with upon arrival, as were the tea, coffee, sugar and fresh milk after a long journey. We felt so happy and comfortable there and would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Seagulls wear very noisy in the morning from

Owner's Response: Dear Edmund, Thanks for the review and 4 star rating. I'm glad you thought Lowen was 'very good'. I'm sorry you found the seagulls noisy however they are to be expected in a seaside town like St.Ives especially as Lowen is so near the beaches and sea. Most guests love the location for this reason. I hope you found everything inside Lowen to your liking and had a good stay!
