Barn close to Bantham Beach, Near Kingsbridge, South Devon, England - Positioned Down A Quite Drive, And Only A Mile From Bantham Beach

Set in the stunning South Devonshire countryside and only a mile from Bantham beach, Avondale is a beautiful family holiday home which has just been refurbished to a high standard. The sleeping accommodation is arranged with a double and twin room on the bottom and top floors and is separated by the living area on the middle floor making the property ideal for 2 families sharing or giving ample accommodation for a large family. There is a large garden and patio for alfresco dinning and for children to run free. This is tastefully lit for evening use. The property is equipped with unlimited WiFi, 3 smart TV's, a music streamer and Xbox as well as a number of books and family games, so there is plenty to keep the family occupied. The living area floor has been newly tiled so the property is clean and fresh. Heating is provided by an air source heat pump giving clean reliable heat and hot water all year round. The beds have been chosen for comfort so that you can be sure of a good nights sleep.

We have enjoyed many family holidays in Devon and particularly like the South Hams for its mild climate and outstanding natural beauty. We found this property in it's peaceful location so close to Bantham beach and fell in love with it.

What makes this barn unique

The property has been completely renovated in 2014. The living floor area is tiled throughout for cleanliness and the bedrooms are all a good size. The garden is large and offers spectacular views. The property is particularly suited to families who wish to share a holiday home as the sleeping layout is split with 2 bedrooms on each floor.

Lovely house with wonderful views and wildlife. Salcombe great place for dining and the Church House Inn, Churchstow which is the best carvery in Devon. Had a great holiday and would definitely stay here again.

Outside: The property is accessed via a private gated drive. There is ample parking for 2+ cars on a gravel driveway. There is a large patio with table and chairs and this is lit with a variety of outdoor lighting. The garden is large and mainly laid to lawn and enclosed by a post and wire fence. The garden can be accessed from the front and back doors, and the kitchen patio doors, and enjoys spectacular views across the Devon countryside. Utility Room: The utility room also has a washing machine and tumble dryer, laundry equipment (iron, ironing board, wash basket, indoor airer) and vacuum cleaner. From the Utility room you can access the Courtyard and the garden where there is a rotary washing line. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are provided and the property is cleaned weekly. Please confirm sleeping configuration when booking.

A spacious property close to the coast and with good privacy when relaxing out of doors.

We chose the house for its situation particularly its proximity to the coast. We were three couples and a single who holiday once a year to spend time on the local shores investigating local marine life. The accommodation worked well although there was a gulf between the grandeur of the master bedroom and the other bedrooms, particularly those on the basement floor. When we arrived there was a noticeable smell of damp in the basement. During the course of the week this was remedied by the use of the dehumidifier provided.

Avondale is well-appointed with particularly good provision of fridge and freezer space. The kitchen was generally well-equipped although we felt we would have appreciated more bowls for mixing, serving bowls. The utility room in the basement was fit for purpose and ideal for storing all those items you don't want to be falling over during the course of your stay. One thing we thought would have been helpful would be hooks on the backs of bedroom doors for robes etc, and somewhere to air our damp towels in our bedrooms. The other thing we found a bit of a trial is the slow internet connection. When we were all using our various devices, which was several times a day, getting connected was painfully slow and some websites were evidently too large to open at all.

We found the games room to be a useful amenity. The views from the large lawn are superb. Parking space was adequate, with care we parked four cars on the drive. There is a deep rut which is not clearly seen until you drive over it, at the beginning of the grass drive which takes you to the gate.

Amazing family holiday !!!

We are 10 months to 65 years and thoroughly enjoyed our stay ! Comfortable, excellent facilities, quiet with breathtaking views! The games room saw family tournaments, while others flew kites, played games on the lawn or drank bubbly waiting for the bbq to be cooked! Lots to do in the area - Woodlands for the kids, numerous beaches (avoid Salcombe itself at peak periods), chile farm to name but a few. We thoroughly recommend !

This is a lovely holiday house with very good facilities.

Very well designed property, with everything that you need included. Loads of extras such as TVs in several rooms, games room, DVDs & board games and internet facilities, though the latter was rather slow. Everything was very clean and well presented and when we had a query it was answered immediately. There is plenty to do within a 20 mile radius suitable for sunny or rainy days, there was plenty of brochures in the lounge to help us decide. We went to the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth, Kent Caverns & Waves Leisure Pool in Torquay, Dartmouth & Berry Pomeroy Castles, Woodlands Family Theme Park as well as the beautiful beaches that were 5 minutes away. My 4 year old grandson cried when we left, he didn't want to leave he loved the house so much.

A lovely quiet house.

We had a lovely week in this house, 8 of us for the first few days and then 6. There is plenty of space, and 3 toilets which is great. The kitchen is well equipped and everything works! It is a great location for getting to the beach and we found different places to go each day with no more than a 15-20 minute drive. Lovely beaches and countryside. Thanks for letting us stay in your house.
