There are breathtaking countryside and coastal walks on your doorstep, as well as quick and easy access to two beautiful beaches. The area around Tilley's Cottage is a stunning mix of countryside and coastline. Access to the coast path is a mile away. Right next to Abereiddy is the famous 'blue lagoon' where the Red Bull British Cliff Diving Championships were held in 2012, 2013 & 2016. Whitesands beach near St David's and Newgale beach are also popular choices for visitors - these have all facilities and are both great for surfing.

About Ruth Woodage

When we moved here from the New Forest, the cottage had already been renovated and was being run as a holiday let. We were very pleased that this beautiful holiday cottage was part of our property and over the years we have gradually made various changes and improvements to make it more of a home from home. It is regularly used by friends and family who enjoy visiting the area, as well as providing tourist accommodation.

Ruth Woodage purchased this cottage in 2006

Why Ruth Woodage chose St Brides Bay, St Davids & The West Coast

We loved the wild nature of the North Pembrokeshire coast. It feels remote here - yet after a few minutes in the car you can be at a pub, restaurant, cafe or gallery. The choice of walks is amazing - coastal, countryside or woodland - they are all on the doorstep!

What makes this cottage unique

Tilley's Cottage has loads of character, with the thick stone walls keeping it cool in summer and cosy in winter; and whatever time of year you stay, if it's clear enough for a sunset - you won't miss it!

"Beautiful holiday cottage"

My husband & I stayed in Tilley's cottage during the first week in June along with our son, daughter in law and small granddaughter, not to mention our two Labradors! We all had a really lovely time. Yes, the cottage is a little on the small side but there is absolutely everything there that you could possibly need. The place is immaculately clean, cosy & also child friendly. The bathroom is beautiful & we all enjoyed long hot showers after our days on the nearby beaches. The garden is well laid out and enclosed which makes it safe for both children and dogs. The sunsets that can be seen on a clear day are just stunning. We enjoyed just sitting on the patio and watching them. Ruth (the owner) was on site next door and available whenever we needed any advice or recommendations. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We also loved meeting Maddie their family Labrador. Her little nose pushing under the fence hoping for a treat whenever she heard us around ! We were all sad to leave this lovely place when the time came to go home & I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a little piece of heaven.

"Tilley's Still the Best"

This is our 2nd stay at Tilley's and it was even better than last year with the addition of wi-fi.

Everything about this cottage is first class a real home from home. We are already planning our return next year.

"This is a beautiful cottage."

We stayed in this cottage for a long weekend this July. We were lucky with the weather, while the rest of the country had to contend with heavy rain we ate supper in the garden and watched the sunset over the sea. The accommodation was spotlessly clean – this is one of our things and is usually the first thing we notice. It was well equipped and very comfortable. The owner, Ruth, was welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. A short walk from the cottage takes you onto the coastal path with stunning views in every direction. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough and only wished we could have stayed longer.

Notes:
I normally check emails during the evening so if you are in a hurry to arrange a booking it is best to phone the landline number. If no reply, please leave a message and try the mobile number. Mobile phone signal is patchy so it's best to use WiFi to message. We live on site we are happy to make meal reservations for you if needed and to let you use our phone line if you're stuck. Well behaved dogs are welcome - but please do not allow them on the furniture. There's parking space for two cars and the gate can be shut to make sure children and animals stay safe. Heating and hot water are supplied via an oil-fired boiler and there are fully controllable electric heaters in the bedrooms. The first £15 of electricity is provided and is normally plenty for a week (if you need to top up there is a £1 coin meter). Logs are provided free of charge. To the side of the cottage is a lawned garden bordered by traditional pembrokeshire hedge banks. There is also a private deck area with picnic table which allows you uninterrupted views of the surrounding coastal and countryside - perfect for enjoying sunsets! The lean-to stable houses a freezer, washing machine, portable BBQ, extra logs & kindling wood. All bed linen is included. Bring your own towels (or I can provide them for £4 per person if you let me know in advance).

Cottage lovely and cozy. Ruth fantastic - couldn't have been more accomodating.

Cottage was everything we hoped - cozy and relaxing but not lacking any creature comforts. Indeed shower amazing and plenty of piping hot water for relaxing soak. Ruth very helpful -immediately got a throw for sofa as our dogs like to snuggle up! Bed lovely with wonderful duvet ensured great nights sleep.

Walked dogs for several hours on Whitesands bay (wonderful) so they had a great time also.

Will definitely be coming again - cottage perfect and so much to see and do in this beautiful part of Wales.

Quaint lovely cottage

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was well appointed, clean and had a big garden. A wood burning stove added ambience. The owner was lovely and was nearby if required. The cottage was within walking distance of a few pubs and restaurants and also close to the costal path for some lovely walks. A 10 minute drive to St Davids and the wonderful cathedral. We had a great time.
