Fantastic family holiday

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week in Caunes this summer and had an absolutely wonderful time. The villa was wonderful, the pictures didn't really do it justice.

We did have one day trip, to Carcassonne, but apart from that didn't feel the need to go anywhere, we were all so happy lazing around the pool.

We did eat out a few times in the village and we also regularly walked down to the patisserie in the morning to buy breakfast.

I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing, quiet break in a beautiful part of the world.

A not-to-be-missed villa!

  • 5 of 5

Just home from a wonderful family holiday in this lovely villa. We were grandparents, parents and their siblings down to baby grandson and all of us had a great time. The position of the villa is second-to-none in its peaceful garden with stunning views. The spacious villa interior is beautifully done, and is extremely well-equipped.

As well as energetically climbing up to the castles at Lastours we equally enjoyed lazing by the large pool or having drinks before supper on the terrace looking out over sunlit roofs and gardens to the Abbey. Jenny was extremely helpful throughout and delightful to deal with. Altogether an idyllic rental and I recommend this villa very highly.

Excellent large villa

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice villa and is a very good size for 8 people - as another reviewer said, it is bigger than it looks from the photos. Great swimming pool with views over village, good patio areas for evening dining with great views over the village. Modern, but with many rustic features.

It is on the edge of the village with Med forest behind - so very nice surroundings. The village has a good ambiance with an interesting old quarter and abbey.

Great wines in the vicinity for tasting and walks in the hills around from where some of the ornamental stone came for Versailles.

We had a very relaxing time and enjoyed ourselves. Thoroughly recommended.

Amazing location!

  • 4 of 5

The villa is lovely and very well equipped and much larger than the pictures show. We stayed with 4 adults and 4 children and there was plenty of room. The room layouts are quite flexible and you can easily accommodate 2 families.

The pool was lovely and a good size and was cleaned once during our stay which was sufficient. The owner answered my numerous questions before arrival and were very helpful.

The location is amazing with beautiful views. You can drive to Carcassonne, or up into the mountains, tour vineyards or just walk into the village and have a long lunch...perfect.
