Built as an extension to Badachro Inn in the 1970s to provide extra accommodation. They now provide a spacious comfortable home from home which welcomes dogs, lovers of the outdoors, boat owners, walkers/climbers and anyone seeking a magical break in the West Highlands

About Hamish Lawrie

We moved to Badachro in 1971, running the Badachro Inn for the next 12 years. With a young family, we decided a move out of hospitality would give us the time to focus on family, and we subdivided the hotel to create holiday apartments particularly with families and lovers of the outdoors in mind.

Why Hamish Lawrie chose Northern Scottish Highlands

Whatever the season, Gairloch has a beauty and tranquility that enable you to get away from it all (even when you live here!). Just an hour and a half from Inverness, we're not so far away as to be isolated, yet remote enough to really feel like you are somewhere different and special.

The stunning beaches, beautiful lochs and wonderful mountain scenery offer a great variety of landscape for walkers, birdwatchers and wildlife lovers to explore and enjoy.

What makes this house unique

Shore House 1 and 2 are situated right by the water on sheltered Badachro Bay, a haven for yachts and inshore fishing boats and a fantastic launch point for canoes, kayaks and small dinghies. We're also right beside the Badachro Inn which offers pub lunches and dinners. The main settlement of Gairloch, with grocery shops, butchers and gift shops is just 6 miles away with a growing number of specialist food providers in the area.

Both houses are spacious, have sea views and two bathrooms. We think they're perfect for folk who want a home away from home.
