House in Treknow, Cornwall, England - Prominent Position Next To The Stunning Coastal Path With A 10 Minute Walk To The Beach And Pub

Tregosse is a fantastic holiday home with 5 bedrooms spread over 2 floors. They are large, 3 with ensuites, and all with outstanding views across the ocean. The living areas have a great feeling of light and space with high ceilings and bay windows out towards the sea and the wood burner makes it cosy on a cold night. The beach at Trebarwith Strand is beautifully clean, has a surf school in the summer months and is great for rock pools, caves and bucket and spade. You can enjoy a well earned drink at the Port William pub or dinner in the Mill House just up the valley. A little further afield (20-30 min drive) there is the Camel Trail and the famous beaches at Polzeath and Rock. Bodmin Moor has some stunning scenery and there are a handful of great golf courses for all abilities.

My husband and I have 2 children aged 7 & 9. We move around a lot because of my husbands job so we bought this house so we could have somewhere to go for holidays. I grew up on a farm in Lincolnshire but have enjoyed many holidays in Cornwall as a child with my cousins. My husband was also a regular visitor to Cornwall as a child hence our draw to this area.

This property stood out for us because of its size, proximity to the beach and its incredible views. To be able to walk to the beach eliminates the problems with parking and traffic which can get so bad during the summer months in Cornwall. Having the number of bedrooms enables us to have other family & friends to stay in complete comfort and we look forward to our time there very much.

Tregosse certainly exceeded our expectations; vast-perfect for two families, yet homely and beautifully decorated. The highlight was opening the curtains every morning to the breathtaking view of the sea. We walked down the path to Trebarwith Strand every morning for the best coffee and chocolate brownie in Cornwall, and played on the beach. Evening walks along the coastal path to the church and beyond were sublime. Our best thoughts- trips to Boscastle, Polzeath, Cycling on the Camel Trail from Wadebridge to Padstow and the astonishing Bedruthan steps! We could quite happily stay another week.

Outside: The property has a good lawned garden with sheltered area for seating and BBQ NEW Boot / Utility Room: The utility room is now complete and has a shower, washing machine and tumble dryer and plenty of hanging space for wetsuits, coats and general outdoor kit. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are provided and changed at the end of each booking. For longer stays weekly cleaning and change of sheets can be arranged with an additional charge. Please bring your own beach towels.

Beautiful home

We had a wonderful stay at Tregoose. We had our family around the big dining table for Christmas Day; it was idyllic. Sophia was prompt with all communication and the information was clear and thorough. Cannot recommend highly enough! Thank you Sophia!.

Great house Great position

Lots of space for children to enjoy and grown ups to relax

Well furnished etc

The pre holiday info was as good as I've had and Sophia kept in contact via e mail

Pity about the access road played havoc with car suspension

With a dog the huge utility room and shower was excellent

Home Sweet Home

The house is exceptional. The photos do not do it justice. All the rooms are very, very spacious.

The kitchen and dining area are huge. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need.

The utility room & downstairs shower is a perfect addition, and was very welcome after a rather wet walk one day with little ones and dogs - no wet boots, coats or dogs trailing around the house!

There was ample parking for three cars.

The garden is a good size for children and secure for the dogs. And there is a lovely BBQ too.

Any complaints? Yes, we only had one week there - none of us wanted to go home!

Beautiful house in stunning location

There were 9 of us in this spacious house and there was plenty of room for all of us. The boot room was very useful for all of our coats and boots, specially the shower which was used for rinsing off our small dog after he went in the sea. The kitchen was well equipped as was the rest of the house. The cliff path going down to Trebarwith strand and the other way to Tintagel was lovely as the views from there are amazing but going back up is not for the faint hearted. The weather was not very summery and rained at times but there is always the Port William to have a meal and a look at the impressive waves. We visited Boscastle, Padstow, Daymer Bay and Tintagel, all within easy reach.Cornwall is beautiful, we go every year, but gets very busy in August when we were there. So if not going with school age children it is best to come in July or September.

Location

Car: necessary

Coast/Beach:

Trebarwith Strand sandy beach is a 10 minute walk. It is a stunning tidal beach with pubs, cafes, shops and surf school (summer only). The beach itself is great for rock pools, mussel picking, caves, sand and surfing. The coastal path is across the field at the front of the house.

Travel:

It is advisable to come by car but here are the nearest transport routes.

AIRPORT - Newquay: 20 Miles

FERRY - Plymouth: 45 Miles

TRAIN - Bodmin Parkway: 20 Miles

MOTORWAY - M5 Exeter: 60 Miles

Further Details:

Tintagel is just 1 mile and has restaurants, a butcher, spa, cash point and plenty of tourist shops. Further afield there are supermarkets in Camelford, Wadebridge and Bodmin, most of which do deliver.

There are many great restaurants and pubs in the area with the most reputable probably being in Port Isaac and Rock.

Our standard rate is our off peak rate.
Our changeover day is Saturday however we can be more flexible off peak. We do not do Sunday changeover due to our cleaner having her day off.

Dogs are considered but rules apply and a maximum of 2 dogs per reservation will be accepted. We charge £30 per dog per week.

We do not allow Stag and Hen parties.

All utilities are included in the price.
