Holiday Home With Outstanding Sea Views

Overview

Property

Updated: 21-Nov-2016
House in Treknow, Cornwall, England - Prominent Position Next To The Stunning Coastal Path With A 10 Minute Walk To The Beach And Pub

Tregosse is a fantastic holiday home having undergone a complete redec a few years ago. The 5 bedrooms spread over 2 floors are large, 3 with ensuites, and all with outstanding views across the ocean. The living areas have a great feeling of light and space with high ceilings and bay windows out towards the sea and the wood burner makes it cosy on a cold night. The beach at Trebarwith Strand is beautifully clean, has a surf school in the summer months and is great for rock pools, caves and bucket and spade. You can enjoy a well earned drink at the Port William pub or dinner in the Mill House just up the valley. A little further afield (20-30 min drive) there is the Camel Trail and the famous beaches at Polzeath and Rock. Bodmin Moor has some stunning scenery and there are a handful of great golf courses for all abilities.

About the Owner

My husband and I have 2 children aged 4 & 6 and move around a lot due to my husbands job. We both grew up loving the outdoors and spent many holidays in Cornwall so we are hoping to give our children the same freedom.

Some quotes from our visitors book:

Tregosse certainly exceeded our expectations; vast-perfect for two families, yet homely and beautifully decorated. The highlight was opening the curtains every morning to the breathtaking view of the sea. We walked down the path to Trebarwith Strand every morning for the best coffee and chocolate brownie in Cornwall, and played on the beach. Evening walks along the coastal path to the church and beyond were sublime. Our best thoughts- trips to Boscastle, Polzeath, Cycling on the Camel Trail from Wadebridge to Padstow and the astonishing Bedruthan steps! We could quite happily stay another week.

Thank you so much for letting us come and stay in this magical place. The house is fantastic, so well equipped and the location could not be better. We wish we could wake up to that view every day!! Four days away has left us refreshed and ready to face the next semester of teaching!!!!

Had an amazing time, I've never been to Cornwall before and now I want to live here. The weather and views were amazing and you have a lush house. Trebarwith Strand is really fun, oh and the bookshelf was great.

What a fantastic property. Upon arrival at Tregosse House the view is all you can hope for and more. The position of the house backing to the sea is just breathtaking.

Inside it doesn't disappoint either....

All the rooms are lovely and spacious and the main living areas, lounge and the huge kitchen diner are full of comfort and warmth. The kitchen has all you could need to prep big meals, which we did for ten without issue...

All the bedrooms are very comfortable with the rear rooms having the most special views of the ocean. The bedding is luxurious.

There is so much to do in and around the area and coastal path walk to the various pubs make each journey a joy. We had our lab with us and there is a great utility room to get him cleaned up and sorted when the weather is on the wet side.

We were a gang of ten attending a wedding and everyone wants to return some time..

Perfect!

Wonderful situation with stunning views and sunsets, excellent coastal walks. .

Enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable. Wind does whisle round building when windy but that's

expected on top of cliff . Excellent choice of games in house for children.. Trebarwith Strand an excellent cove

but care needed on wet rocks. Great walks along the cliffs and the pub at Trebarwith does great food at reasonable

prices and great views.

All information provided about property and local area very good and useful. Would certainly recommend property.

Tregosse is a lovely spacious family holiday home.

  • 5 of 5

My family all gathered in Cornwall for a special birthday week. Ten of us (four boys and six adults) all fitted in to Tregosse with no problem. Everyone was delighted with the accommodation and there was plenty of space for us to spread out and gather together for meals and games. A popular cupboard of games and toys was found in the living room. Bedding and towels were great. The Drying room was a godsend because unfortunately we had quite a lot of sea fret as well as lots of wet suits to dry overnight.

The bbq was used on one occasion and would have been great if the weather had been kinder. The house is a good walk down the hill to the beach a bit challenging in the rain but everyone managed. Driving to the property for the first time was a little bit of a challenge, we were wondering if a diagram/map might be a welcome addition to the directions for future visitors. Tintagel was very close by and handy for picking up milk bread etc but we went further afield to Tesco at Wadebridge for big shopping.

A lovely spot Trebarwith Strand is just perfect for all ages, rock pooling, surfing, body boarding etc. There is a great café near the beach which was marvellous for warming up shivering surfers! Polzeath was another popular beach as it was more accessible when the tides were high.

All in all it was a memorable week and we all loved it.

An exceptional holiday home

  • 5 of 5

Quite possibly the finest holiday house we have stayed in anyway, ever. It has everything. Very thoughtfully designed / restored and furnished; fitted out with all the bits and pieces you could possibly need. Fabulous views, lots of sheep (and the occasional rabbit in the garden). And an excellent pub / restaurant within walking distance. Local beach is also great and well equipped with everything from artisanal ice cream to surfing paraphernalia: you just have to get it right with the tides. Lots to see / do / eat in nearby towns and villages as well.

Fabulous family break. Amazing views, quiet location with easy access to coastal path, local beach (check tide times & prepare for an uphill climb on return!) and a very short drive to Tintagel. Padstow worth the ferry trip too, but otherwise enjoyed not having to drive much. The accommodation is impressive...loads of space and well equipped for 10 of us ranging from 2 yrs to grandparents. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful house, Wonderful Views and well equipped for all weathers

  • 5 of 5

Very clean, comfortable, spacious. We cannot think of a better environment for a family holiday.

The house is not overlooked and is very close to the coast. There were 7 in our party and there was ample room for all of us.

Highly recommended.

Location

From the Owner

This property stood out for us because of its size, proximity to the beach and its incredible views. To be able to walk to the beach eliminates the problems with parking and traffic which can get so bad during the summer months in Cornwall. Having the number of bedrooms enables us to have other family & friends to stay in complete comfort and we look forward to our time there very much.

Activity and Interests

Car: necessary

Coast/Beach:

Trebarwith Strand sandy beach is a 10 minute walk. It is a stunning tidal beach with pubs, cafes, shops and surf school (summer only). The beach itself is great for rock pools, mussel picking, caves, sand and surfing. The coastal path is across the field at the front of the house.

Travel:

It is advisable to come by car but here are the nearest transport routes.

AIRPORT - Newquay: 20 Miles

FERRY - Plymouth: 45 Miles

TRAIN - Bodmin Parkway: 20 Miles

MOTORWAY - M5 Exeter: 60 Miles

Further Details:

Tintagel is just 1 mile and has restaurants, a butcher, spa, cash point and plenty of tourist shops. Further afield there are supermarkets in Camelford, Wadebridge and Bodmin, most of which do deliver.

There are many great restaurants and pubs in the area with the most reputable probably being in Port Isaac and Rock.
