Apartment in Edmonton Nr. Wadebridge, Cornwall, England - Beautiful Location Within Walking Distance Of The Camel Trail And A Short Drive To Wadebridge

Set in the stunning Cornish countryside Tylney Retreat offers the most magical holiday location within a small select collection of properties. It has everything for those looking for a quiet, comfortable and enjoyable Cornish break in or out of season. From the lounge there are far reaching panoramic views over the countryside and the Camel Estuary; you will be able to join the Camel Trail just at the end of the lane. There is an extensive choice of restaurants, bistros and pubs in the nearby market town of Wadebridge, also the historic fishing port of Padstow, the home of Rick Stein's seafood restaurant, is only 7 miles. If you would like to stay closer to home then the award winning Quarryman Inn is just around the corner and enables you to enjoy an evening drink or meal after a day exploring the Camel Trail.

The apartment is fully equipped and kept to a high standard of decoration. Although there is no washing machine in the apartment, there is a local launderette in nearby Wadebridge. Bed linen (not towels) can be provided by a local provider at a cost of £10 per room, please indicate when booking if you would like this arranged.

Hi, I am a retired Finance Manager with nearly 40 years experience in the Motor Industry and my wife is a Practice Manager at a GP Surgery and together we own Tylney Retreat. We have been having family holidays in Cornwall since 1994 and have always dreamt of owning our own 'bolt hole'. We have spent a lot of time decorating and furnishing the apartment and believe it provides a really comfortable base to explore the Cornish countryside and coast. Beautiful apartment

Apartment was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Beautiful views across to Padstow, Quarryman pub is lovely for meals. Tesco just a quick walk or drive which was good. I would have given 5 stars but parking in the pub car park wasn't ideal and no washing machine made it a bit tricky!

Owner's Response: Thank you Carol for your review, I am pleased you enjoyed your stay and found the apartment to the standard you would expect. I do try very hard to keep it to a very high standard. Re your two comments; 1) The parking in the Quarryman car park is part of our lease and provides guaranteed parking, something that is not always possible in Cornwall. 2) I have looked at having a washing machine installed but it has proved very difficult to find a suitable location, without compromising other facilities in the apartment. We do try and make it clear on the web site that a washing machine is not available, but I understand that it is not always easy to see all the information. Thank you again for staying at Tylney Retreat and we look forward to welcoming you back again.

Great apartment, beautiful views of the sun setting.

Ideal and easy to find location near to several beaches and the lovely padstow. Eden project and LanHydrock house are less than 30mins away by car. Tesco 5mins drive to stock up. The appartment is well kitted out for cooking although no washing machine. Beautiful views of the sun setting and rabbits, birds and horses in the near by field. The quarryman pub next door was also great, very friendly staff and some decent pub grub. Only negative was that towels weren't included in the linen charge, which meant having to buy new towels but not the host's fault although maybe worth being explicit about it in the booking details. Would defo stay there again.

First class

Fantastic accommodation in a great location. We cycled 130 miles with great access to the Camel trail - about a mile all downhill on a quiet lane. The accommodation was very comfortable, well fitted out and great views of the Camel estuary.

Visited Appletons Restaurant at the Trevinnan Mill vineyard - fantastic food, great hospitality and worth a visit.

Great property in a great location

The apartment is among the best retreats, in all aspects, we have stayed at in over 45 years of holidays in the U.K. From initial booking to leaving for home the experience bettered most if not all our previous self catering holidays and for once we were not relieved to get back to our own beds.

Home from Home

Tylney Retreat is a home from home apartment set in beautiful scenery overlooking countryside, the River Camel and Padstow in the distance. The apartment is clean, bright, spacious modern and incredibly comfortable - exactly as described. It is the perfect base for touring and also for staying in when the weather isn’t so great. Lots to see and do locally – we particularly enjoyed Trevone Beach and Dairy Lands near Newquay (perfect for our 3 year old daughter and good value for money). Free WiFi was also a bonus as were the yummy cookies on arrival. Excellent communication/customer service. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay on holiday and we really hope that we can return one day. Would thoroughly recommend Tylney Retreat.

From the Owner

We have been travelling to North Cornwall, with our family, for many years. Edmonton, near Wadebridge, is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is an ideal location for a holiday retreat.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The apartment is close to many of North Cornwall's beautiful beaches. Including Padstow Beach, 6 miles; Trevone Bay, 7 miles; Rock Beach, 8 miles;

Constantine Bay, Daymer Bay, Polzeath Beach and Harlyn Bay all of which are approximately 9 miles away.

Travel:

The apartment is ideally located for people arriving by car being close to the A39 and is just 9 miles from Newquay airport.
