Its living area has exposed stone walls, wooden floors and ceilings. There is a large stone fireplace that brings the cottage to life when lit.The furniture and décor is bright and cosy for a cottage feel.

The galley style kitchen is neatly arranged and has all the utensils for your catering needs. There is a 4 ring electric cooker, oven and grill, microwave and fridge.

The bedroom has a double antique wooden bed, and is comfortably furnished. Its shower room has an electric shower and toilet.

Outside is garden furniture and a barbecue for outdoor dining, in quiet well maintained surroundings.

There is a laundry shed and storage area. Overall this is a very comfortable cottage to use as a base or relax in all day, what ever your needs are.

Lovely stay - lovely place and people.

  • 5 of 5

We found this lovely cottage and its fantastic owners by chance, called them, and got an answer from abroad! Ray was travelling, but smilingly redirected us to his lovely Rose. In two hours we were set up in Sally's Place and had gotten overview and maps over everything possibly needed and wanted.

We enjoyed our stay very much - and even prolonged it with a night.

The place has everything one could want - including freezer, washing maschine and tumble dryer. There is no dishwasher - and no need for it either.

It is clean and well-maintained - they have restored and decorated everything themselves and continues to keep it very well.

As previously mentioned the owners are a fantastic couple. Friendly, informative, chatty and in every way service minded.

We really do recommend the the cottage, the place and the people and we will come back later to.

Thank you, Rose and Ray, dor a really lovely stay.

Greetings from Norway, Lars and Elisabeth A.

A Refreshing Getaway from the Good Ole USA

  • 5 of 5

From the time our plane landed in Shannon, until we left a month later our trip was wonderful due to Ray and Rose's awesome hospitality. The beautiful cottage was very clean and well decorated. In March/April the weather is still pretty cool on most days and even though we didn't use much heat the bedding was plenty and cozy to keep us warm during the night. The cottage was well equipped to cater to our needs independently. Anytime we needed directions, re-instructed on the use of appliances or guidance on Irish life the whole family went beyond the call of duty to help us.

We made some new friends we will never forget. Ireland was life changing for us.

Owner's Response: These two ladies arrived from the USA not having been in Europe before, and were on a mission of love. It was our absolute delight to assist them in their journey and had such fun doing so. They travelled by day and sometimes night to all sorts of places around the country, with the copilot screaming in the passenger seat, hoping they would make it back to the cottage alive, they always did,....... sometimes with the help of our neighbours and local defence forces !!!!! only joking about the defence forces, but they were on high alert. Ladies it was pure joy to meet you both and we did have some good fun together, and created memories to be revisited with laughter often. All our love Ray And Rose.

Lovely Cottage, lovely hosts!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation in the "Briar Rose" cottage. We also had the chance to see the other two cottages Ray has to offer and they looked just as lovely.

Ray and Rose were amazing hosts and had a lot of local insights and traveling tips to offer. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Nice like cottage

  • 5 of 5

This was our second stay in this cottage, it is so beautiful. It is small, but erverything we needed, is there. It is very clean, we have cooked and it is perfect for 2 persons. Everyday we made a trip to Lough Conn and looked at the cows, and sheps and dogs ...

Ray and Rose are very helpful and we will come back again. We can prefer this cottage. It is so quiet and in the night the stars looked over us. In the town Ballina we got all what we wanted.
