This fine old property was converted a few years ago from a barn and offers spacious and elegant accommodation. Free WiFi and linen. Utilities included within reason. It has a private walled garden with garden furniture and BBQ etc., and also big grounds & big solar-heated pool (fenced and gated) shared with 6 other smaller properties. It is situated a few miles from sandy beaches. La Rochelle and Royan are the nearest well-known towns.

Dishwasher, washing machine, drier, microwave etc. We take 7 people with a supplement of 150 euros pw for one extra person. Pet welcome but by prior arrangement only, 150 euros pw. Optional end of stay clean 65 euros. Optional mid-week clean 20 euros ph.

Bikes for hire. Cot, high chair and towels can be hired if needed

About the Owner

The beach! We love the beach, barely 4 kms. We chose this area for its excellent climate, offering warm, lazy spring & autumn days & long hot summers. There is something for every age group in the general area, the beaches being a particular attraction. We bought this huge old place in 1995 & restored it ourselves.Old properties, dating to the 17th century. We have hosted all sorts from ordinary folk to Lords and Ladies and famous personalities & have received lots of excellent reports. Our own house not far away. Staff available if there is anything you need.

Important note: the ownersdirect web site recommends you phone me to check I exist but I am away most of the winter & in summer am outside. However I had advertised with OD for 12 years so I am sure they will confirm I exist !

This was a really very pleasant place, an old barn converted in to a superb holiday venue, with an excellent mix of old and new. The best part was perhaps the walled garden at the back which was lovely for outdoor dining. Child-friendly. Well equipped and spotlessly clean. Trying hard to think of a down side a bigger food mixer would have been good, and a few more BBQ utensils. But it was lovely and we loved it.

The perfect place to stay for all ages!

I arrived with my family - three boisterous children plus granny- to find our gites comfortable and charmingly furnished, with plenty to amuse the young on site. Cathie and Bruce, the owners, were solicitous and kind and provided us with helpful information about the area which we all enjoyed exploring. All in all, an excellent holiday. We hope to return next year.

What a lovely property

Lovely property, charming surroundings. Would highly recommend it for families as there's lots of things for kiddies to do and the pool is fab.
