We had been considering a holiday home for some years but had never quite found the right location for us. After our first visit to Kalkan we fell in love with the area and knew that this was a place that we would be happy to visit time and time again

What makes this apartment unique

One of the outstanding features of this apartment is the outdoor space including pool (approx 10m x 5m) which is for your sole use and not shared by any of the other apartments. The large terrace easily accommodates 6 sun loungers with areas of both sun and shade which makes it perfect for sun worshippers and those that like to take some shade from the hot Turkish sun. You also have the added benefit of an outside seating area, bbq, dining table and sofa area for reading

"It's a good indication of a property when the owner is as prompt and helpful in their replies as that of Elif apartment! It means that they care about the experience of their guests and it sets a certain expectation of the property. Our expectations were high and they were exceeded. Elif apartment is immaculate, simply and practically furnished with very, very comfortable beds, lovely linens and towels and gorgeous bathrooms with huge showers. The pool area is beautiful with fabulous loungers, outdoor table for meals and a lounging area perfect for pre-dinner drinks. We spent many happy hours in the pool larking about but it's also long enough for swimming lengths. Very conveniently located for all the amenities of Kalkan but also for exploring the beautiful Lycian coast where wonders abound! I cannot recommend the apartment highly enough!"

Location

Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

Kalkan town beach is 10 minutes walk away. There are 5 beach clubs in the area. These offer water sports, sun loungers and umbrellas, showers and excellent bar/ restaurant facilities. Patara beach is a 15 minutes bus ride away and famous for its 18kms of unbroken sand and clear warm water. Kaputas is a small but beautiful beach and is a 10 minute bus ride away.

Travel:

Dalaman is the preferred airport and is around 90 minutes away. Thomas Cook, Thomson, Easy Jet, Jet 2 and Monarch all fly into Dalaman. Airport transfers or car hire can be arranged at an additional cost and usually paid direct to the company providing the service. Car hire is not essential in Kalkan as local transport is both plentiful and cheap but widely available if you choose to book in resort. All local tourist beauty spots are easily accessed.

Distances:

Located on the Turquoise coast of Turkey and with the soaring Taurus mountains as a backdrop lies the post card pretty village of Kalkan. The ancient sites of Xanthos, Letoon, Pinar, Tlos and Patara are within easy reach. Driving up into the mountains behind Kalkan and travelling through stunning scenery you will come across a fertile plain that was once a prehistoric lake. Amongst the fields and orchards is the old working village of Bezirgan.

Further Details:

Kalkan is a small fishing village with winding cobbled streets which has expanded gradually over recent years. The ancient old town retains its original character. At its centre lies the harbour with a mix of local fishing craft traditional Gulets and visiting yachts. There are many superb restaurants for which Kalkan is most famous here you will find menus to suit all pockets and tastes. These are mainly situated along the harbour front or on roof terraces offering excellent views over the sea whist dining. Shops are very good quality with a range of good merchandise available from arts and crafts to designer handbags. There is an excellent weekly Thursday market providing opportunities for bargain hunting from T-shirts and jeans to spices and local produce. There are 3 banks with ATM's in the village. There is a small supermarket within 5 minutes walk from the apartment and other larger supermarkets, greengrocers and butchers within 7 to 10 minutes walk.

Notes on accommodation: This is a modern , contemporary and impressive 3 bedroom apartment with private pool. The large terrace and pool area is ideal for enjoying the sun in the day but also for making the most of the fabulous warm evenings with it's outside dining and sofa area. It's ground floor location makes it ideal for families with children. Finished to a high standard with marble flooring throughout. A small welcome pack will be provided for guests on arrival and free WiFi connection is available at all times. This is a non-smoking apartment Outside: The spacious private pool area comfortably accommodates 6 sun loungers with two large parasols to provide shade during the hot summer days. The pool is ideal for families as, whilst it is long enough for swimming lengths, it is also shallow enough for young children to play. There is also an outside dining area and a comfortable sofa for enjoying pre dinner drinks of an evening. We also provide a cast iron BBQ for those wishing to try out their own Turkish Okabasi ! Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: We provide linens, bath & beach/pool towels with mid stay clean & linen change for visits over 7 days

Spacious, well equipped, clean, well located and very comfortable!

We've been to Kalkan many times and stayed in many different places but this ranks as one of our favourite. There were 3 of us so we had plenty of room to spread out but there's ample room for 6 people. The apartment is very light, spacious and well furnished with a good selection of equipment, books, games etc. The beds were incredibly comfortable which is important and the air con worked well. Outside there was always sun or shade and the sofas with the large parasol was one of our favourite places to sit in the heat of the day. The pool was a good size, not cold and plenty of room to swim lengths. We were a bit concerned it might be a bit far out of town but we needn't have worried and the location is very peaceful. It's a 5 minute stroll to Migros

which is an excellent supermarket, 10 mins to the town and 15 to the harbour. We always walked in and got a taxi back, which are still very good value. Kelly was friendly and helpful with our booking and always replied promptly to us. She kindly arranged our airport transfers which went smoothly and the drivers were very good. Adem (local maintenance team) was very efficient and sorted out any queries quickly also arranging for fresh drinking water to be delivered when we ran out.

Thank you Kelly, we loved your apartment, can highly recommend it and hope to stay again on a future visit.

This was our fist trip to Kalkan and was also our first holiday away just the two of us. We chose this apartment based on the previous reviews and also the views in the photos and we was not disappointed.

Kelly arranged the transfers from the airport for us and they were waiting with some water which was needed, The transfer time was about 1hr 30 plus a 15 minute stop at the cafe on route which was very nice.

On arrival at the apartment there was a welcome pack in the fridge which we have never had before and this had all the items you needed to get you started.

The apartment was very clean and well laid out and the pool was just perfect.

Kalkan town was very nice and there is some very nice restaurants and it seems that the whole area has not been spoiled still yet very traditional food.

The walk down and up from the town is not for the faint hearted but was nice after a nice meal to walk off some of the food and drink.

We will defiantly be going back next year and can highly recommend this fantastic apartment

What a fabulous all round holiday

The apartment is superb with everything to a very high standard and everything you could want and need on holiday.

The outside area is super with the very comfortable sun loungers, table and chairs and a corner suite just right for drinks before you go out to eat

.

The town of Kalkan is unlike other places we have been to in Turkey, much less fake hussle and busel and much more high quality restaurants all with there own take on Turkish food. We ate in 6 different retaurants any one you would be pleased to return to.

We hired a car as in October the roads are not that busy, it was great allowing us to easily visit the local beaches and ride up into the mountains behind the resort

All in all a great week and I am sure we will return

Lovely apartment in Kalkan

We had a wonderful stay in this apartment in late August. The location is very quiet but not too far to walk to the local supermarket and old town of Kalkan. The apartment was spotless, very well maintained and equipped with everything you could think of, including a washing machine which was a bonus! The pool is a very good size and was enjoyed by our boys for several hours each day. There are several seating areas around the pool and on the first floor balcony which were great. Would highly recommend this apartment for a great, fun family holiday.

Amazing apartment in Kalkan!

Spent a lovely relaxing week at this Elif apartment in September. The duplex apartment is beautiful with all mod cons provided. It is very spacious and comfortable, easily accommodates 6 people although we were only 2! There is a lovely spacious patio with sunbeds and a table for al fresco dining by the pool, which is solely for the use of apartment clients ( something you never get with holiday lets !) A 10 -15 min walk takes you down to the town of Kalkan where there are numerous restaurants serving beautiful and reasonably priced food. There are also a couple of supermarkets nearby catering for all your needs.

Owner Kelly is very helpful and arranged taxis for our airport drive.

Would certainly recommend this accommodation and would love to go back again.

Amazing pool

We come to Kalkan most years and have stayed in a variety of properties in this beautiful place. Kellys is comfortably and practically furnished with brilliant mattresses (not often the case in holiday rentals). The apartment offers exceptional value and fantastic space when compared to the cost of a villa and is in a good location to walk to town. The highlight for us was the pool in this property, it is private to the apartment and is big, even compared to villa standards. A basic welcome pack is provided, ensuring no emergency dash to the super market on arrival. We certainly would book this apartment again.
