** Occupancy rates are very high in peak season (July, August and school holidays) - we strongly advise large groups to book early as there are only a few large villas available to rent in the area. **

Spacious eight bed private villa (sleeps up to 16 in beds 22 with the use of foulding beds) in a peaceful gated location with pool, just minutes walk away from the nearest bars, restaurants and inexpensive supermarket and less than ten euros in a taxi to Albuferia's famous 'Old Town', 'New Town / Strip' and Marina.

A lively nightlife, café culture and family orientated attractions make the Algarve the perfect destination, what ever you're after. There are also many water sports to try including sailing, fishing, windsurfing, surfing, jet skiing and water skiing. There truly is something for everyone, as there are many other attractions and activities, together with several beautiful beaches within easy reach. It really is the best of all worlds! Our Favourite is Gale beach, which is in walking distance or only a few euros in a taxi.

*Local area (within a 20 minutes walk of the villa)*

If you turn left out of the villa it's a two minute stroll to the nearest bars, restaurant and well stocked inexpensive supermarket. Here you can stock up on local wine for less than 2 Euros a bottle and food for the BBQ.

Turn right at the bottom of the lane towards Albuferia and, within a five to ten minute gentle walk, you will find Oliveras Resturant which we can highly recommend.

If you take the first right before you get to Oliveras, it's approx. a ten minute walk to Jompa and Angies bars. A further few minutes to the top of the road, brings you to Amigos and Por Do Sol that has live music Tuesdays and Saturdays. A little further on the left you will find Amigos tapas restaurant which is a must visit place and our favourite. ( get a taxi if you don't fancy a walk up the hill)

If you fancy Indian food we can recommend the Shama Palace Indian restaurant, a 15-20 minute walk from the villa after taking a left turn at the bottom of the lane.

Take a right at the top of the road from Angies bar and in five minutes you'll find Quinta da Gale or turn left and again and in five minutes you will find Scooby's family bar. Scooby's has a pool and is great for watching football matches and serves up large portions of good food. If you spend a decent amount there you can be picked up or taken home.

The nearest beach is a 20 minute walk away

Marina – approx five minutes taxi ride, roughly five euros

Old Town – approx ten minutes taxi ride, roughly seven euros

New Town/ strip – approx 14 minutes taxi ride, roughly ten euros

The Salgados golf course is a few minutes drive away

Alternatively there is a bus stop two minutes away from the villa

*Location*

Villa dos Sonhos is a 30 - 40 minute drive from Faro International airport.

Private pick up for up to four guests or Minibuses that seat eight can be arranged for larger parties.

It is not essential to have a car as there is a bus stop within a short walking distance and taxis are cheap and reliable (€7.00 to Albuferia Old Town) .

If you do wish to hire a car we recommend searching through sky scanner or travel supermarket. It is much cheaper to pick up and drop of at the airport than hiring a car once at the Villa. We have found that some local firms charge as much per day than it costs to hire a car for a week from the airport. Don't worry if you don't know the way from the airport it's easy and we will be happy to give you directions.

*Temperatures*

Many people think you need to go to the Canary Islands for winter sun, but temperatures are mild in the winter months and even in January, the coldest month of the year, Faro has an average maximum temperature of 16 degrees.

We have just been for New Year and day time temperature's averaged around 18 degrees!

In the summer, temperatures are generally hot, with a mean maximum temperature of 29°C at Faro during July.

Check in and out times are as flexible as possible, if there are no back to back bookings.

Check in times at busy periods are 4.00pm although cases can be left at the Villa so you are free to explore the area or relax at Scoobys bar (two minutes drive)

At busy times we may have to restrict changeover days and check out time will be 11.00am.

For late departures we have made arrangements with Scoobys bar where there is a pool, bar, restaurant and shower facilities and we can arrange for you to be picked up and taken there – please request when booking.

PLEASE NOTE the booking deposit is not refunded if you later cancel. We strongly recommend you take out holiday insurance the includes cancelation insurance.

Stunning Villa, Fantastic family holiday!

All our transfers to and from the villa were arranged by the owner, when we arrived we was pleasantly surprised to find a vary spacious well equipped villa that had everything we needed for our self catering holiday.

The villa is very secure so we could leave the young children to run around and play, there was also lots of inflatables and games for my little girl to use in the pool which was great. The bar set up in the garage was brilliant for the adults to enjoy a drink while the kids were safe in bed.

The villa is in a great location with a supermarket very close which had everything we needed. A taxi into the old town is only a few euros and we found it a very easy and not too expensive way of getting around, the atmosphere in the old town was great even in November.

We was also surprised to get such great weather for November, we got plenty of sun with a day temperature of around 20 degrees. All in all everyone had a fantastic holiday and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to write a review. We are at the Villa now and even though it's December the weather is stilll great. It has been as high as 27c some days but cooler on a night. We are planning to get a pool heater soon and also refurbish the pool, so if you fancy a swin in a winter break we are offering some great winter discounts. Ps the temperature advertised is in the shade so it will have been 25c when you thought it was 20c.

These people are a great place to go because we had a great time thay sorted out the transfer from airport to the villa and back the villa was a lovely place to go a great pool/bar and the kids had everything on the TVs ( all the top films ) and thay sorted anythink that went wrong

Great villa, great location but not luxury

First the positives! This villa has great space - there were 14 of us including a young child and it felt very spacious both inside and out. Its in a great location - no immediate neighbours, a short drive from Albufeira, near some gorgeous beaches, very near to a well stocked supermarket and a nice restaurant.

We were disappointed though to find quite a lot of issues which we felt should have been picked up by the property management company prior to our arrival. For example, the swimming pool needs complete renovation and we arrived to find piles of small pool tiles around the pool which hadn't been swept away and broken glass under the patio table. As a family we were eating in the villa at lunch time and a couple of the evenings but the equipment in the kitchen was substandard or missing (no glasses, no racks in the oven etc). We were told there was a stag do in the villa before us and consequently one of the patio windows was smashed and we couldn't use that door, floor tiles were broken in the bedrooms, all the safes had been locked and couldn't be opened and finally the one patio door we could use didn't lock so we found ourselves having to back one of our hire cars up against the door when we went out. The property management company did sort out some of our concerns and the owners were very nice when we contacted them but ultimately all these issues should have been picked up before our arrival.

Such a shame! This villa has so many positives but we think the owners need to decide whether this is a stag/hen party place or a place for families - our experience suggests you can't do both.

Stunning, great group holiday destination

Fantastic Villa, presented well & in an ideal location. Large family holiday so all ages came, this villa suited each & every one of us. everything about it worked superbly, party room was great for the adults to continue the evenings festivities whilst the children had a great nights sleep in there air conditioned rooms. Exceeded everyone's expectations, so glad we chose this one :)

Fantastic place to party or relax.

I stayed at this amazing place with a group of friends. There was plenty of space for us inside the villa so we weren't under each others feet and even more space outside to relax by the pool.

It's just a short walk to the beach past some lovely bars and restaurants so if you don't want to have to venture to far to find something to do here is ideal.

The owners left an information pack with some good stuff including taxi numbers which was perfect. For just a few euros you can get to the old town and to the night life centre.

As the villa isn't right on top of the bars and clubs it was just perfect for when we wanted a more chilled out vibe, tucked down a semi private road with no close neighbours we didn't have anybody to bother us. Even when our quiet nights in the villas very own private bar turned in to a more noisy affair there was nobody close enough to hear us or complain!

This superb villa is honestly one of the best places I have ever stayed and I am certain that everybody who visits will have an amazing time!!! :-)

Location

From the Owner

We bought our Villa as our holiday home and our second home when we retire, in the meantime we wish to share it with others and hope and are sure they will get the same enjoyment from it as we do. We especially love the country walks and the tranquillity but also the fact it is only a short inexpensive taxi ride in to the hussle and bussle of the marina and old town. We live and work in a village in West Yorkshire but are not far from Leeds and Huddersfield so we are very fortunate that we can enjoy country or city life in either of our homes.

Special interest holidays:

There are several other activities that you can take part in including, canoe trips inland of Alvor's estuary, forest path walks near Monchique, downhill biking from the Algarve's highest peak of Foia to the coast, cross country mountain biking and pedal kayaking.

The Algarve has many intriguing sites to visit that highlight the ancient past of the area. Alcalar in Portimao is a site with Neolithic and Chalcolithic graves and stone constructions that are the remains of ancient settlements. Also Milreu near Faro is another ancient site and the location of the remains of a luxurious Roman villa with mosaics still existing, along with baths, a temple and 2 mausoleums and is considered a national monument of Portugal.

There are several churches of interest throughout the Algarve, including Luz de Tavira, an impressive renaissance style church with beautiful stone carvings and decoration, and Santa Bárbara de Nexe, a 15th century church, considered to be one of the most beautiful

Coast/Beach:

There are no less than 7 beautiful sandy beaches within easy reach. The nearest is a short drive away, but can be walked in about 20 minutes.

The Algarve is famous for some of Europe's best and cleanest sandy beaches, picturesque rocky coves and year round sunshine, the Algarve has quite rightly become a Mecca for tourists looking for some sun.

A lively nightlife, café culture and family orientated attractions make this the perfect destination what ever you're after.

Travel:

The Algarve is serviced by Faro international airport which is a 30 minutes drive away. We can arrange a private pick up for up to four guests for €35.00 each way. Mini buses that seat 8, for €90 return, can be arranged for larger parties.

It is not essential to have a car as there is a bus stop within a short walking distance and taxis are cheap and reliable.( €7.00 to Albuferia Old Town )

Distances:

Nearest bars, restaurant and supermarket is 2 minutes walk away, there are several other bars, (some with live music) and restaurants within 10 to 20 mins walk. The nearest beach is 20 mins walk.

Albuferia Marina and Old Town, 5 mins drive and a further few minutes to the Strip. €5.00 in taxi to Marina.

The Algarve shopping centre with Cinema, Makro and Iceland, to name a few is €12.00 in a taxi.

Further Details:

The supermarket at the bottom of the lane (2 minutes walk) is very well stocked and reasonably priced. There is a cafe and cash machine on site. Next door is a bar and restaurant. Across the road is another small bar and coffee shop which sells delicious pastries to be enjoyed alfresco style. There is an Aldi and Lidl about 10 mins drive away.

The Castelo de Silves is an imposing fortress and one of the best preserved castles in the Algarve. The castle along with the cathedral next to it feature stunning Gothic architecture and are the most prominent buildings in Silves. The remains of defensive walls and towers can still be seen along with ancient tombs in the cathedral.

The Historic Quarter of Faro has several places of interest and is excellent for shopping along with the Market Hall in Loulé which hosts a gypsy market every Saturday.

Alte is one of the most typical and picturesque villages in the Algarve giving a real insight into traditional life in the area. There are narrow winding streets, small shops and a fishing port to explore as you witness a day in the life of the Portuguese.

Booking Notes:
A 25% none refundable deposit is required to secure your booking, with the balance payable 6 weeks before arrival. Bookings made within six weeks of arrival must be paid for in full. The refundable security deposit must be lodged at least 48 hours before your arrival.

A refundable security deposit of £2000 is payable by bank transfer prior to arrival.In the unlikely event of any damage or breakages it is only the cost of repair or replacement that is deducted. If the damage exceeds the security deposit by booking you are accepting that you will pay any additional costs. Deposits will be returned after satisfactory inspection, usually within 48 hours of your departure by bank transfer.

Changeover Day:
We try to be as flexible as possible, but at busy times we may have to restrict changeover days. Check in will be 4:00pm & checkout 11:00am. Cases can be left at Villa & for late departures you can be picked up & taken to Scoobys to use their facilities.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the Villa with up to 16 people sharing. An additional charge for each guest up to the maximum of 22 is made.Smaller parties are welcome, please contact us for individual prices if you can restrict use to 4 bedrooms.

It's Perfect location, in the country side but easy access to all local amenities. The Villa is on the flat making walks or bike rides not too taxing. For those on a limited budget the bus stops are a short walk away. It is possible to walk to the Mariana or beach but both take about 30 minutes.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The Villa is very spacious and in its own private grounds, which are walled and gated, so very secure. It is suitable for those that wish to spend a lot of time at the Villa or as a base for those that wish to explore the Algarve. As there are 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a living room on each floor, it is ideal for 2 families sharing. Outside: The Villa has plenty of outside space, with parking for several vehicles. There is an outdoor built in BBQ with food preperation area, surrounded by a very large patio area providing ample alfresco dining. There is a large kidney shaped pool with lawned area. There are several palm trees and a few fruit trees, making this a very relaxing and exotic location. If you fancy a BBQ party or just chilling out sunbathing round the pool, this Villa delivers in style. Utility Room: There is a separate utility room which houses the large fridge freezer and provides additional storage. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels are provided. For bookings of at least 7 days there will be a mid week towel change. There is an additional maid service midweek, on request, at extra cost of €15 per hour, depending on your requirements. Other: One of the upstairs bedrooms has its own private balcony and off the large landing there is a huge balcony providing additional alfresco dining in addition to the BBQ area. This is a great sun trap too. There is also a double garage.
