Mas de la Quintine is your quintessential Provençal farm house. Being a 9th century converted convent the house is stacked with character. The walls of the main house are more than two feet thick so it stays cool in the summer and warm in the winter. There is air conditioning in the annexe with units in the living room and each of the bedrooms. There is also air conditioning just off the master bedroom in the main house. We always rent out the entire property which means the main house AND the annexe.

The house and annexe are furnished with traditional, sympathetic furniture with modern appliances. You can sleep 10 (max 8 adults) without feeling on top of one other. The house has two kitchens for extra convenience. The loggia outside the kitchen comprises a large cast aluminium table and is perfect to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at.

The property has extensive gardens filled with lavender, olive and fig trees and the large gazebo allows for comfort and relaxing outdoors in the shade or at night. Children are well catered for including the use of the pool, trampoline, swing set and sandpit. There are powerful garden lights, all controlled from a remote to give additional atmosphere at night.

The pool is heated making it very inviting. Together with a pool alarm, the fence surrounding the pool gives extra peace of mind if you have children. There are 6 recliners, parasols, a table and chairs and many pool floatation aids.

Inside the house you have lots of amenities for children and adults alike. The property is fully equipped with the latest entertainment systems including 3 x 55 inch HD TVs Blu-ray/DVD players, Sonos sound systems, FreeSat and PS3. Wifi is available throughout the house and annexe and provides a fast and reliable speed. There are toys and board games for children, as well as a selection of books and films.

My name is Paul. I am an owner director of a financial planning firm in Luton. I talk to my clients about achieving their dreams and ambitions. One of mine was to buy a property in the south of France with my family. My wife Alison and I love spending time in Provence and especially at our petit chateau in Carpentras.

Unfortunately, we can't be there all year round and so want wanted to let it out to families who share the same feeling we do about southern France, Provence and the Luberon.

Houses are for living in and we have put our heart and soul into this house, to make it look and feel very special. The garden is like a little paradise and we truly hope that visiting guests share in this magic and just have a great time.

Why Paul Cleworth chose Carpentras

My family and I have been visiting Provence for the last 3 years largely because of how appealing and beautiful it is. The weather is warm, the scenery is very green, the food is amazing and the local wines are wonderful, especially the rosé wines.

Southern France is relatively close as a holiday destination. You can travel to Carpentras by plane, train or car very easily and there is just so much to do within a very short distance of our holiday home. In 45 minutes you can be at the top of Mont Ventoux with incredible views; you can drive to all the pretty little villages throughout the Luberon or you can spend time lounging at the pool, basking in the sun.

We feel very fortunate to be able to buy in this location. It truly is a slice of paradise.

What makes this farmhouse unique

Privacy from electric gates, fences and tall trees with the river L'Auzon on one side. Heated and fenced off 12 metre pool with a very powerful heat pump which keeps the water nice and warm. New powerful sand filter so the pool is like clear, tropical, Caribbean water.

Large gardens with lots of fun and games to keep children and adults entertained including: Children's play tower, slide, swings, sandpit and trampoline. There is also a football net, badminton & volleyball net, floodlit pétanque court (boules) and 2 hammocks.

2 mountain bikes and table tennis table available (on request.)

Secluded property but only 10 minutes from E.LeClerc, an amazing supermarket. Easy access to the Luberon - within 25 minutes of Avignon, L'Isle sur la Sorgue and Gordes.

The property is PERFECT for CYCLISTS wanting to climb Mount Ventoux and explore Provence by bike.

Notes on accommodation: House and annexe rented together. Max 8 adults. Our property manager will meet you on arrival, show you around and explain how everything works. Guests will be given the alarm code, gate code and wifi code. The house and annexe will have been cleaned, with fresh bedding and bath and pool towels ready for use. Air-conditioning available in the annexe and in the Masterbed of the main house. Strictly No Smoking is permitted inside the house or the annexe. Pets may be considered. Outside: 1 acre garden, outside loggia with 12-seater table and chairs, Weber gas BBQ. There is a bistro table and chairs on either side of the garden for a couple to sit and relax. The gazebo is 5 x 5 metres and seats on comfortable rattan furniture with outside pillows. There are two hammocks - one full size and one seat hammock hanging from the willow tree. The pool is 12 metres x 5 metres and is a salt pool (far less chlorine so doesn't hurt your eyes or smell) and is heated and filtered. The pool is very private and surrounded by wood decking and a pool fence on all sides. The pool man comes once per week and gardener comes every 10 days. The swimming pool is open 1st May - 30th September. Utility Room: Washing machine and tumble dryer are situated in the kitchen in the gite. No separate utility room. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bath towels, beach towels for the pool and all bed linens are included. The property will be cleaned before your stay with linens put on the beds

Beautiful Chateau with all the amenities

Mas de la Quintine Is a beautiful Chateau with all the amenities and it is situated in beautiful Provence. The Chateau is very well maintained, with very large dramatic gardens. My wife and I stayed here for a week with our family and another couple for a total of eight persons. We did not use one of the bedrooms and bathrooms that was upstairs in the main Chateau but the home would have accommodated another couple. We watched only the Tour de France on TV but the satellite system and entertainment systems were exceptional. All programming we found was from the U.K. Our typical day was a leisurely breakfast eating out door on the huge covered patio table. A morning swim then off to explore one of the very cute villages or wineries nearby. Late afternoon at the Chateau was spent, napping, reading in the shade of the gazebo and swimming. The pool and yard is very private. The property has large electric gates that insured our privacy. When you arrive at the property you are soon met by Bruno the manager. He will explain everything about the Chateau and pool and give you keys and gate clickers. Bruno is absolutely exceptional. We knew we would be tired on our first day with planes, trains and automobiles so Bruno offered to make us dinner (prearranged of course). Bruno is a great chef and we ended up eating two full meals on all the great dishes he prepared for us. Bruno is always available by cell to help with questions or problems. He has great restaurant recommendations. Also, He found us a wonderful chef who prepared all of our breakfasts and three incredible French dinners during our week. We were very pampered. The town of Carpentras is just down the street for any shopping or other items you may need. This quick shopping convenience was much appreciated. We had a wonderful week at Mas and I know your family will to. Paul and HomeAway made all transactions very simple. Enjoy Provence!!

Beautiful large property, extremely well equipped with fantastic pool!

Just returned from a wonderful week with family (6 adults and 3 kids). This is a great property and there is plenty of space for a large group to spread out. The owners have thought of everything and it is very well equipped. The gardens are beautiful and very well kept and the pool ... wow. Heated to a very pleasant temperature, it also had a water slide, lots of sun loungers and umbrella's ... a real winner with all of the family.

The main house is very tastefully decorated and the lounge in particular was a great place to relax with the kids after a long day in the pool. The owners have installed some good technology so it became our "movie room".

I can't think of anything constructive to add. The immediate local area isn't picturesque but it is so close to some really pretty French towns and of course Avignon so if you wanted to venture out (which we didn't) there is plenty to do. The one exception was a trip to Splash World, apparently Europe's biggest water park. 10 mins away and great fun!

Beautiful, peaceful property with lovely gardens

We enjoyed a wonderful stay in this superbly equipped house. As we were 2 families both with children it provided adequate space for everybody with lovely indoor and outdoor dining areas. The house has clearly been decorated to a high standard with great love and care as illustrated by the Weber BBQ and impressive sound system. The children were especially well catered for with the Playstation, dvds, games and the waterslide at the pool was a great hit. Though in a residential area the house was incredibly peaceful and private and we never noticed any neighbours. We settled into a relaxing routine of morning coffee under the gazebo, an outdoor breakfast and then a leisurely morning in the lovely pool. As it was particularly hot during our stay (close to 40 degrees most days) we didn't explore the local area as much as we intended, though the children enjoyed a trip to Splashworld just 10 minutes away (go early!). The whole family had great fun playing Petanque and we spent most of our time in the pool and the lovely garden - just make sure you take plenty of insect repellent.

The annexe was beautifully air conditioned and the main bedroom in the main house was also cooled.

Our trip was very professionally handled with clear communications, excellent directions and Bruno proved a very helpful manager with excellent English. Certainly one of the best villas we have stayed in and we had a wonderful holiday. Many thanks.

Absolutely Perfect for our Family Holiday

As two families that have shared many villas before, with children ranging from 6 - 17, this property met the descriptions and exceeded our expectations.

We were met by the fluent English speaking, and extremely helpful property manager, who took time and care to ensure that we were happy with all the property had to offer. There were a few welcome gift food items, which were also much appreciated and gave us chance to sample a few local delicacies and wine. There is a particularly good local supermarket just a few minutes drive away and a very comprehensive guide from the owner gives more information or other shops and places to visit.

The property was extremely clean and well maintained. The grounds were immaculate and was a pleasure to relax and spend time either around the pool, chilling under the gazebo or dining on the terrace - we made full use of it all.

The main house is full of character and charm, with many mod cons added and the annexe was a modern, stylish, light and airy place to enjoy waking up to.

All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our week here and only wished it could have been longer.

Stunning Family-Friendly Chateau in the Heart of Provence

Mas de la Quintine is a lovely property; my family had a wonder time here during our visit in Provence. The house is every bit as lovely and thoughtfully laid out as the pictures on the website.

Paul was helpful and prompt in answering questions and working through payment for the property. This was my first international rental, so I was careful before signing on the dotted line. His property manager, Bruno, was very helpful showing us the property and adding some of his own personal recommendations.

The property is very family friendly; the pool is enclosed, and there are great toys and games for the kids throughout. Even kid-sized furniture. My wife and mother-in-law appreciated the thoughtful architectural and decoration decisions throughout the house.

We did have one small problem with the septic system - for one or two days there was a bit of a smell coming from one of the showers.

It can be quite hot in Provence and there is one (I think?) air conditioner in the main house for the master suite, and two air conditioners in the attached guest house (also very nice with its own living room, TV, and kitchen). So three bedrooms have direct air conditioning, which is very useful during some of the very hot days we stayed there.

My wife, in-laws, and children all agreed - this is the finest rental property we've stayed at in our many years of travel.

Absolutely Perfect

We chose the Mas de la Quintine for our family holiday with children and grandchildren joining us from Australia, Germany and Vietnam and it proved to be the best ever choice. There was ample and varied accommodation to meet our needs within the farmhouse and it was superbly equipped with everything that we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We loved the gardens and the pool and there was ample information about local sights and facilities provided. We all enjoyed our stay at the Mas de la Quintine very much - it was perfect for our needs and perfect for a great holiday in Carpentras.
