Apartment in Cabanas de Tavira, Eastern Algarve, Portugal - Quiet Area, But Just 900 Mts Walk To Beach And Boulevard. Close To Train & Bus.

Canada is situated on the edge of Cabanas village, with the village of Conceicao and Benamor golf course a 5 minute walk inland. The air-conditioned top floor apartment has a bedroom (2 persons), a large living/dining room with a double sofa bed (2 persons), a sun terrace and secure parking. Cabanas is a fishing village and beach resort in the unspoilt Eastern Algarve just 4kms from the historic town of Tavira. The area boasts numerous blue flag beaches which are accessed via water taxi, ferry or land train (Cabanas included), all have white sand clear water and plenty of space. The village has numerous restaurants and snack bars together with all the amenities you would expect: supermarkets, ATMs etc. Transport links are excellent with the train station and bus stops just a 2 minute walk. There are a further 4 golf courses within 20mins drive. Part of Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, the area is of interest to walkers, birdwatchers etc.

Great apartment in a very handy location, 10 minutes walk to Cabanas front and only a few minutes to the railway station which we used to go into Tavira in the evenings.

The apartment had almost everything you would need for a stay so much so my wife was tempted to bake a cake!

One minor quibble is the refrigerator was a larder type so did not have a freezer compartment so could not store any frozen items such as ice cream.

We were offered the use of the bicycles but at our age we declined but if you are so inclined they would be of great use.

Amazing apartment,stunning area.

The apartment is truly wonderful,clean and well equipped.the balconies are a real pleasure.Good position,just 5 minutes walk from Conceicao train station,and 10 minutes to the Boardwalk,where there are lovely bars and restaurants which all have good food, reasonably priced.

Just for information the water taxis in winter are limited.

Thank you Nathalie for a lovely stay,and the 2 bottles of wine were much appreciated.

We would love to return.

Great apartment, lovely views, friendly welcome.

We had our second visit to the apartment in October 2017, and just like the first time, we were not disappointed. Nathalie was there to greet us and to make sure all was in order before leaving us to enjoy a relaxing week. She had kindly supplied two bottles of wine, one Red one White, together with a large bottle of water to get us started which was most appreciated!

The apartment is clean and tastefully decorated as well as being very well appointed with a home-from-home feel. We always look for apartments with balconies and with two to choose from, there is always a sheltered area to eat out and relax in the sun.

As we enjoy cycling, the two bikes included are great and allowed us to cycle miles in both directions from Cabanas, including crossing the “salt pans” or Ria Formosa Nature Reserve and on to the beach near Tavira.

The train is within a 5 minute walk giving easy access along the coastal route to Vila Real or Faro and beyond or stay local as there are plenty of well priced pubs and restaurants to enjoy fresh local food.

A super apartment for location, relaxing and friendly welcome. We’ll definitely be back!

Great Apartment

This is a fantastic apartment! It has been well looked after and is very well equipped with everything you need for a great stay in Cabanas. There are 2 large furnished terraces both which get the sun all day and it’s lovely to sit and have a glass of wine while watching the sun go down. It’s very peaceful at night, ensuring a good night’s sleep. The beach, train station and supermarket are a 5 min walk from the apartment.

There are 2 bikes that come along with the apartment and we used them nearly everyday. We found some mostly off road tracks and found many, many beautiful beaches and small towns along the way.

Cabanas is a lovely town with some lovely restaurants, we particularly enjoyed the food at Atlantis.

Nathalie, the owner is very quick to respond to any queries you might have and was a pleasure to deal with.

We would love to visit again!

Quiet, and spacious apartment

We were met at the apartment by the very helpful owner. The property was well described, very clean, extremely well equipped with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The location is perfect very quiet and only a ten minute walk to the sea front. I hope to stay in this apartment again and would recommend it.

Lovely well maintained apartment with all facilities. Owners were very friendly and informative throughout the process and met us at the apartment to show us everything which was very helpful. We have visited Cabanas several times and this apartment was ideal for us to enjoy all that it has to offer.

900mts to the beach and boulevard.Cabanas beach is reputed to have the warmest water in the area, and is accessed via a water taxi. Completely unspoilt the beach stretches as far as the eye can see. It has umbrellas and loungers for hire, snack bars and shower/wc facilities. It is a leisurely 10 minute stroll to the waterfront. Other beaches in the area include Ilha de Tavira, Barrill and Manta Rota, all equally as good. Forte do Rato, a new discovery for us, is recommended for children, tidal,


Faro Airport is around 40kms from the apartment.The airport has no rail link. Rail travel is cheap & convenient, with the station a 5 minute walk, giving access to all major towns along the Algarve. Bus services are frequent with the nearest stop 2mins walk. For those wishing to explore, a car is recommended, the best beaches are not accessible by train or direct bus services. A road train operates from the end of the road during peak season.


900mts to the beach and boulevard, restaurants, bars, shops. Golf very nearby. Close by [with train] Tavira and Vila Real de San Antonio on the Guadiana river. Ferry to Ayamonte [Spain]. Boat trips on the Guadiana river.

Further Details:

The village has a wide variety of restaurants and snack bars, 3 supermarkets, a bank. A number of ATM's. The nearest pharmacy is in the main street at Conceicao, which also has a number of restaurants, snack bars and a Post Office. Cabanas has been improved and upgraded recently and now has its own marina and a boardwalk style waterfront.
