About Julie and Pete

Hi, a very warm welcome to Bluebell Cottage our "home from home", from Pete and Julie Harris. My father John Harris has now decided to take a back seat running the business and has asked us to take the reins providing good service and reliability to all our clientele -as they have in the past.

The Harris family have thoroughly enjoyed many a happy holiday over the years - it holds such a special place in all our hearts as it does with many of our returning guests. Many a time it has been mentioned that the experience at Bluebell Cottage is like going back to the "good old days", quaint chocolate box setting, peaceful, tranquil, with wildlife in abundance on your doorstep... a real gem!

Memories are made of this!!

Why Julie and Pete chose Norfolk & The Broads

Far from the "madding crowd" peace and quiet -happy days.

What makes this cottage unique

Total rest and relaxation, a beautiful setting and a lovely garden to enjoy.

Guestbook comments from the owner

A magical place for a most relaxing week. We hate to leave, wish we could take the "sounds" of Hanworth with us and the partridges and ducks that come to visit the garden each morning. Thank you again - Julia, San Francisco USA. P.S I meant pheasants!!

Been looking forward to our second visit to Hanworth & we certainly haven't been disappointed! The weather has been fantastic - we have spent most days on Sheringham beach trying our hand at crab fishing!! Our children Jack (6) and Elise (4) have loved every minute, especially visiting the cows and ducks on the common every night and waiting for the rabbits to appear in the garden. Can't wait to return next summer. Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful home - Alison, Kevin, Jack & Elise, Sheffield UK

"Wow" what an idyllic setting, the cottage, well, 'Chocolate Box' best describes! It was very clean and well equipped, with everything you could need for a perfect stay. Fantastic days out to the coastal towns and local villages - Holt was a particular highlight with a few visits to Byford's café and deli! Cosy nights in, in front of the fire made for a relaxing getaway. We have already booked our stay for next autumn. - Mr and Mrs Jennings, Leicestershire UK

You will never want to leave

  • 5 of 5

This idyllic little cottage, tucked away in a quiet hamlet is so relaxing, cosy and peaceful that it is difficult to leave. The owners have thought of everything to ensure a wonderful stay. It is a perfect holiday retreat.

The garden is a wonderful place to see some of the local wildlife - or just to sit and while away the hours.

The cottage is within easy reach of the Norfolk Coast, and there is a lovely fish and chip shop at Roughton - booking essential.

Bluebell Cottage is somewhere you will want to return to again and again.

Thank you Pete and Julie.

Totally relaxing and a throwback to times gone by

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic week at Bluebell Cottage (two adults and two children, ages 11 and 9) and although the weather wasn't great we still found plenty of things to do. Apart from trips to the seaside resorts of Cromer and Mundesley there were at least three stately homes (with gardens) within easy reach plus a zoo for the children etc.

The cottage itself was absolutely lovely and was situated on a tranquil lane in the hamlet of Hanworth. Thatched roof, beams inside with a real coal/log fire which made the evenings seem very cosy indeed. There was a lot of attention to detail in the cottage and the owners had definitely gone out of their way to provide a whole range of things which might be required on a day to day basis. The rear garden was a delight and it was great sitting out there in the evening listening to the various birds tweeting their evening chorus.

We loved the cottage and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking of staying in that part of Norfolk.

A hidden delight

  • 4 of 5

An absolutely delightful cosy cottage, in a fantastic position to explore anywhere in Norfolk, due to its location. The bunnies are fun to watch from the conservatory, on our last day 2 mountjack deer were in the garden. The cottage is very well equipped. The only reason I have not put 5 stars is that the shower room is also a wet room, and became abit 'swampyfied'.

Owner's Response: We are aware that the 'wet room' is not to everyone's taste, which is why we are upgrading and extending the bathroom, hopefully this will be completed before December 2015.

Lovely location for the beach

  • 4 of 5

Bluebell Cottage is a lovely quiet base for a family holiday. Clean and homely, a great place to relax after a busy day building sandcastles at Cromer beach!
