Comfortable and quiet.
"Beautiful, elegant and spacious apartment in one of Fano's most historically noteworthy palaces (it has a plaque and street named after it). It's ideally located being a 10 minute walk from the station or beach and less than 5 to the beautiful town square. Despite its central location it's very quiet. You enter at the rear through a large courtyard (where the coaches used to turn) which has an almost rustic appeal with lots of plants and lemon trees. The internal seating area allocated to the apartment is in the inner courtyard of the principal entrance and is wonderfully grand and atmospheric in its renaissance elegance. The kitchen is well equipped and the new bathroom is both stylish and practical. Fano has a beautiful centro storico packed full of atmospheric historical streets. It is an ideal size and its friendly citizens know they live in a rather special place. There is a fish and fruit and veg market near the apartment so food shopping is relatively straightforward (unless, like most of Italy, you arrive on Sunday/Monday when many shops are closed). There is a supermarket nearby, but as is usually the car everywhere, the independents had much tastier fresh produce. Make sure you go to Maki gelateria on Piazza deli Avveduti, one of Italy's best ice cream parlours. Our host waited for our delayed arrival and greeted us warmly and explained all we needed to know".
I live in Italy with my wife, 1 children and our 14 year old pet labradoodle. My wife and I both work, but spend most of our holidays in Englan, where we have made many friends and have really fallen in love with the country.
