Cottage in Senven-Léhart, Côtes d'Armor, Brittany, France - Peaceful Location, Close To Ferry Ports And Just Over 1/2 Hour Drive To The Beach

This well-appointed charming 2-bedroom cottage is typical of the region, is made of stones and has exposed beams. It comprises of lounge/kitchen/dinner with wood burner, wooden staircase to a small landing, one large double bedroom, one twin room, a bathroom with basin, shower and WC and a large secluded garden, front and back, in total 842 m2. Long gravelled driveway. Wooden stable entrance gate. The garden is fully enclosed and secured.

It is very well equipped and it has been furnished to a high standard to create a cosy home for a truly enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Electric heating.

It boasts a quiet, peaceful location in the middle of the countryside, sandwiched between two very small villages, Saint-Connan and Senven-Léhart, and 12 kms from the nearest large town of Quintin and full amenities. The bigger town of Guingamp is 21 kms from the cottage and the city of Saint-Brieuc is situated 29 kms away.

The nearest long sandy beach of Binic is 35 minutes away by car.

For the keen anglers there are two large fishing lakes within 5 miles of the cottage including l'Etang Neuf outside the village of Saint-Connan which has a restaurant with a decked terrace overlooking the lake and a Resistance museum attached to it.

I am a French national (originally from Tours in the Loire Valley) who has been living and working in the UK for the last 35 years. My husband, Nick, is British and speaks very good French and we live on a permanent basis in Devon. Kerauffret Cottage is our holiday home in my home country.

The cottage is full of character, and furnished to a very high standard providing a complete 'home-from-home experience'. The location is well placed for travellers who like to explore the region and experience the true French way of life, local villages, medieval towns, fishing lakes, history and culture. If you are looking to get off life's treadmill, and step into tranquil pace of life in comfort, in a picturesque location, then this is for you. Perfect place for ramblers/walkers, artists, photographers, fishermen, honeymooners and motorcyclists. Magnificent place to stay. We enjoyed our stay in the cottage very much. The place is very nice and cozy. The kitchen is well equipped with attention to every single detail.

The bedrooms are nice and cozy and suitable to a family with two children, small or teenagers.

The owner, Chrissie, is very cooperative and helpful. She helped us a lot during the process of booking the place, getting there and during the whole stay.

We warmly recommend this place and surely recommend it to our friends.

Lovely house in very peaceful rural location

The house was exactly as described. Everything worked perfectly. Copious instructions/notes to cover almost any situation were provided, along with a welcome bottle of cider and Breton biscuits. The location is good if you want a mixture of coastal and inland places to visit. We were only there 3 nights-not long enough to enjoy all that is on offer.

We purchased this house in January 2014. We fell in love with this old stone cottage as soon as we set eyes on it. It has been fully renovated by the previous owners a few years ago. We were after a little place full of charm and character and we were very lucky to find exactly that! We love its rural and peacefuly location and we escape to it as often as we possibly can. We have furnished this house to a high standard and it is a very comfortable home and definitively not just a holiday let! There is everything in it that you could possibly want and need. The Côtes d'Armor is well-known for its superb landscapes along the shoreline. There is also a great deal to discover inland. The famous "Côte de Granite Rose" (pink granite coast) near Perros-Guirec, as well as Cap-Frehel, Cap Erquy and Tregastel are amongst some of the most stunning places to discover.

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach, Binic, is 40 km (35 minutes) from the cottage. The port-cum-resort of Binic has one of the longest, broadest beach (Plage de la Banche). Another smaller and more secluded beach is tucked away to the north, beyond the harbour. Carry on up the coast for a few kilometers and you will find the pretty town of Paimpol and his port (48 km).

Esquy, 1 hour drive away, is also a very pretty beach resort.

ROSCOFF FERRY PORT - 98 km, 1hr 15 mins

ST MALO FERRY PORT - 127 km, 1 hr 30 mins

RENNES-SAINT JACQUES AIRPORT - 139 kms, 1 hr 35 min

Distances:

The nearest villages, Senven-Léhart and Saint-Connan, are both 1.6 km (1 mile) away from the cottage.

Further Details:

The artificial lake, Lac de Guerlédan, is located 34 km from Senven-Léhart where you will find a fantastic variety of activities such as swimming, hiking, cycling and various water sports.

The pretty historical town of Quintin with its two chateau (one of these can be visited) and old streets with medieval houses, some listed, is only 12 km (8 miles) away, i.e. a maximum 20-minute drive. It offers a great variety of shops such as supermarkets (Leclerc, Carrefour, Lidol), banks, post office, garden centre, florists, optician, doctors & pharmacies in case of an emergency.

Bourbriac is also a 20-minute drive from the cottage. It offers some great walks for ramblers such as Tour de St-Houarneau (7 km), An tri Eskop (11 km) and shorter ones such as Coat Liou (1.3 km and 5.4 km).

Guingamp is located 21 km (25 minutes) and the large city of Saint-Brieuc which is the department capital is only 29 km away from the house if you fancy a shopping day.

It is the perfect home-from-home experience and the ultimate gateway place, only 1h15 minutes by car from Roscoff ferry port and 35 minutes from the pretty seaside town of Binic which boasts a beautiful long sandy beach. The cottage enjoys a large front and rear garden of 842m2. Ample parking for 2 cars. It is full enclosed and secured. We are Brittany Ferries "Club Voyage" members and are happy to pass on our membership details to all our cottage guests if they decide to use this method of travel so that they can benefit from a small discount on the price of their ferry crossings.
