House in Southwold, Suffolk, England - Few Metres From Southwold High Street And Short Stroll To Beautiful Sandy Beach

The house is situated within central Southwold and within walking distance of all of the town's amenities and is perfect for large families and friends with 3 spacious bedrooms and a large sofa bed and camp bed available in a separate room. The house is spacious, light and airy, tastefully decorated, and is fully equipped to make your stay enjoyable and relaxing. Built in 1906, it is an Edwardian double-fronted house located in a prime position, just a few metres from Southwold, High Street and the Common and just a short stroll from the beach. The house is privately owned and has been restored to a high standard with modern amenities whilst retaining many original features. Enclosed courtyard garden and BBQ.

"If you’re looking for the perfect ‘holiday cottage’ in Southwold then look no further As soon as we,two families (4 adults 5 kids) walked in we felt at home and had a wonderful stay here at end of May 2013. Plenty of space for the kids to explore and run around, allowing the grown ups time alone.The family bathroom upstairs and the loo downstairs have both been replaced to a fairly high standard and thankfully with a real over the bath shower (not nasty slow electric thing). The Master Bedroom is quite elegant with lots of room and a king-sized bed.The lounge is much nicer than looks in the photos.However, our favourite room has to be the dinning room,with its grand table,which seated 9 with ease, and a polka dot plastic cover so we didn’t have to worry about the children making a mess.This was all topped off by a very friendly owner Charlotte.Your pictures and the write up on the web simply doesn't do the house justice". Great position to explore Southwold from, quiet location and had all the basics you need

Stayed with a friends family, 4 adults +5 kids in total, loads of space, all the basics you need, great location, short walk to anywhere in Southwold, stones throw to the brewery tour, what more could you want.

Recommend it especially for large groups

Ideal location, great for families

We had a brilliant stay in this lovely house over New Year. It is right in the centre of Southwold and couldn’t be more convenient for the shops, beach, walks and pubs! The house is welcoming and well equipped, and bigger than it looks in the pictures! We were two families of four and it had plenty of space for all of us plus friends who came over for dinner.

The house was in a perfect location to enjoy Southwold: close to the beach, easy access to long walks along the coast or country, everything we needed on our doorstep. very spacious accomadation

Large old house at end of high street near all amenities. No sea view and difficult car parking...the latter being typical for all of Southwold unless the property has a dedicated parking space. Have stayed here many times before and probably will stay many more times.

Birthday celebration

Five friends spent a fabulous weekend in Southwold. The house was lovely, very roomy and had everything we needed to enjoy our weekend. I would recommend this house for friends and family. It is in a great location to enjoy the shops, beach, river, restaurants, all the delights of Southwold. We will definitely be back.

Southwold is situated in the heart of the Suffolk coast and is an area of outstanding natural beauty. With its beautiful sandy beach, the town is famous for its brightly coloured beach huts which stretch along the shore.


Because of the central location of the house, everything is within walking distance and you will only need a car if you choose to explore other areas within Suffolk.

Further Details:

Walking; close to the Cottage there are many pretty walks including: towards the River Blyth and to Walberswick or across the marshes/heath.

Coastal Voyager; take an exhilarating ride along the coast on the Coastal Voyager.

Pubs & Restaurants; visit any of the pubs and restaurants close by and sample some of the local ales brewed at the Adnams Brewery.

Golf; play golf at the 9 hole course which is a short walk from the Cottage, or any of the challenging 18 hole courses at Thorpeness, Aldeburgh or Woodbridge.

The cottage is close to an excellent range of small shops including: bakery, tea shop, various art galleries, greengrocers, family butcher, delicatessen, and the Adnams Cellar and Kitchen store.

The house is also a short walk away from several restaurants and pubs, the Electric Picture Palace cinema, and golf course. There is also easy access to the common and a nearby footpath takes you down to the harbour with a foot ferry to Walberswick (summer only).

We accept last minute bookings, and the house is also available for short breaks. Please contact me for availability and prices.
We require a £150 security Deposit.
Well behaved dogs are welcome at an extra charge of £20 per booking.

Bookings are from Friday at 4pm to the following Friday at 11am.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is usually Friday, however this can be flexible depending on the dates requested.

Notes on prices:
Prices are based on a weekly booking from Friday to Friday.
