A beautiful detached, contemporary, spacious townhouse set on Dorset's Isle of Portland. No 41 sits secluded in the corner of an award-winning, eco friendly development, originally built for the International Sailing Teams at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Its a perfect location to explore the hidden gem of Portland, and for exploring Dorset and Devon, with the stunning 'Jurassic Coast' and beautiful countryside. The house has lovely views of the Olympic sailing venue and Chesil beach. With short walks to cafes, pubs - perfect for long sunday lunches. A great place to exhaust children young and old.

About Sally Budden

Hi - We hope you enjoy our holiday home as much as we do, its a great location and perfect for our sailing enthusiastic son.

We are a family of 4, based in Cheshire and have decided to let the property out when we are not escaping here for a nice weekend break or for either training or a sailing event.

The Olympic development is tastefully and perfectly located.- With great open plan living and all the mod cons required for day to day living.

Location

Special interest holidays:

Having been built to house the International sailing teams for the 2012 Olympics, No 41 is on the doorstep of world class watersport facilities, from sailing to windsurfing. A great base for squad training or if you are attending sailing events at WPNSA.

Sitting on the Jurassic coast, the house is also the perfect base for both dramatic and leisurely trekking or cycling.

Coast/Beach:

Spectacular Chesil beach is 3 minutes away on foot miles of steep, smooth pebbles. Great fun for watching the waves crash on the shore or throwing stones into the sea. For the more sedate, a walkway runs across the back of the beach for an easy promenade. A cafe also provides a superb bird spotting. A 10 minute drive to a huge sandy beach at Weymouth where the water is very safe for swimming. Often donkeys & fairground rides on the beach but large enough to find a quiet spot too!

Travel:

45 miles to Bournemouth International Airport (1hr 15 mins drive)

64 miles to Exeter (1hr 34 min drive)

77 miles to Bristol airport (2hr 10 min drive)

126 miles to Heathrow airport (2hr 40 min drive)

Ferries and trains to Weymouth 10 minute drive away. Regular bus services between Weymouth & Portland.

Car useful but is not essential. Cafes and some shops walking distance, with excellent bus services.

Distances:

Portland Bill - (2 miles) - with its famous lighthouse and bird watching station is about a 10 minute drive.

Olympic sailing centre - (under 1 mile) - sailing, windsurfing, kite surfing, cafe/restaurant.

Short walk to Osprey leisure centre

Ever popular Weymouth: (4 Miles) is 10 minutes away by car - beach, restaurants, old harbour, sea life centre, major high-street shops, cinema

Dorchester: 15 miles (antique shopping)

Further Details:

Fortuneswell is a ten minute walk away up a steep hill (not for the faint hearted) and has pubs, cafes, Takeaways, a post office & newsagent, pharmacy, well equipped Co-op store and several fishing shops. Deeper into Portland is Easton, which is about a 5 minutes drive, where more shops and facilities can be found, together with a newly built and good sized Tesco store. Tesco's home delivery also available.

Lovely house with everything you need but location not great.

This house was like a home from home, the bedrooms were lovely and big and the kitchen / living area was fab. The kitchen was fully stocked with crockery etc and even a few store cupboard items too which we found a help.

The house is on Portland and we found that we really needed to use the car most days to go out as there wasn't a great deal within walking distance, especially with a child in a pushchair. We were also woken most mornings by the sound of banging coming from the reclamation yard behind the property.

Having said that it didn't detract from a lovely week away and dealing with Sally and her family was a pleasure, she always answered emails and the information before arrival was great. Thanks again Sally & Family

We went down for our daughters wedding, the property had everything we needed and was an excellent base to prepare for the big day. We would definitely stay again and recommend this house. The owners were helpful and friendly....amazing holiday!

Very clean and spacious house.

Wonderful warm spacious house with great attention to detail. Perfect for families and dogs!

The area surrounding the property was rather run down with many shops empty. The house has a very high fence on one side separating it from a scrap yard but noise was not too excessive!

Fantastic house!!

We had a great time staying here. We were a party of 6 adults, 3 toddlers and a baby and we couldnt ask for a more well appointed house.

All the furniture is high quality and the house is immaculate. Would definitely recommend.
