Overview

About the property

Cottage in St. Teath, Nr. Camelford, Cornwall, Friendly village setting

Tynedale, sleeps seven people in four bedrooms and is centrally located in the friendly North Cornwall village of St Teath. It is the perfect base for an outdoor or family holiday. Ten minutes from the glorious North Cornwall coast for walking and the sea. It is close to the charming seaside towns of Port Isaac (of Doc Martin fame), Rock, the foodies’ delight of Padstow, Polzeathand Widemouth Bay for surfing, the wild scenery of Arthurian Tintagel, the South West Coast Path, Poldark country, Rosamund Pilcher trail and many other picturesque and historic sites.

The area abounds with good restaurants and friendly pubs, it is within easy reach of the Eden Project (45 minutes) and many of the other attractions, both natural and man-made that Cornwall has to offer. The bustling small town of Wadebridge is twenty minutes away, with its three supermarkets and interesting speciality shops.

The cottage has two cosy living rooms, each with television and log burner. The four comfortable bedrooms and spacious and well-equipped kitchen/ diner also render it ideal for just chilling out. Free wi-fi is provided along with a good selection of games and a Wii. The secluded patio with barbecue and garden furniture offers a relaxing space for outdoor eating and entertaining, and the property also features a charming low-maintenance front garden.

St.Teath welcomes its visitors with a shop/post office/off licence (“open all hours”), butcher selling locally produced meat, a 14th century church and a dog- and child-friendly pub serving excellent and good value meals, all within 200 yards of your front door. The area is a pooch’s paradise and we welcome up to two well behaved dogs.

About Mrs Liz Miskin

I am a young at heart grandmother, retired translator, grew up in Kent, extensively travelled and lived many years in Kenya, where my children were born. I live in the village 300 yards from the property, am involved in village affairs and eager to share the delights of the area with new friends. I have a large and somewhat unruly German Shepherd and welcome visitors' dogs.

Mrs Liz Miskin purchased this cottage in 2014

Why Mrs Liz Miskin chose Saint Teath

"Highly recommended but, most importantly, dog-friendly" -"The owner welcomed us with a delicious cake" - "Well-equipped and tastefully decorated" and many other complimentary reviews on both cottage and village. Tynedale has a "homey" feeling. It is comfortable and well-furnished and equipped but child- and dog-friendly. The log burners give it a cosy atmosphere. It is well-placed for activities and attractions but not overrun with other visitors.

Great place and a very good cottage

  • 4 of 5

Stayed for the Royal Cornwall Show so really just needed somewhere to sleep! Pub next door but one is just wonderful! Really friendly staff and very good traditional food all at great prices.

The house has comfortable beds and is well equipped. The floors are all wooden so are easy to keep clean. A great base in a beautiful area.

Amazing!,

  • 5 of 5

An amazing holiday, the owner of the cottage Liz met us with a warm smile and a fabulous home bake cake.

We had a wonderful time, St Teath is a warm and friendly village a great base to stay and very central to many places to explore.

We spent fabulous sunny days visiting Padstow, Port Issac, Newquay and Tintagel castle and many more places.

The cottage was lovely, spacious and extremely well equipped

Highly recommended and but most importantly dog friendly.

A mention must also go the White hart pub 2 doors along great food and very welcoming.

Well appointed, warm and comfy.

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for a whole month in this surprisingly roomy cottage during some of the worst winter weather the UK had experienced for many years. The cottage has a warm and friendly feel with just about everything you would need for a pleasant stay in this beautiful part of the world. Highlights for us were visits to Port Isaac, Tintagel and Padstow plus many bracing walks on some magnificent beaches. There is retail therapy available at Wadebridge and Bodmin but the village shop is well stocked and fairly priced too. The host/owner of the cottage, Liz is a very pleasant lady who will do all she can to make sure your stay is perfect. I would say that the only downside was the road through the village which was busier than we expected it to be although road works on the coast road to the north were probably adding to the normal volume of traffic. We would recommend this cottage for out doors lovers and especially those who prefer to have their pet dogs with them when on holiday.

Beautiful cottage, very well equipped and comfortable! Great price too! What more could you want!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this wonderful cottage as we were attending a wedding in the area. We were greeted by Liz with a delicious chocolate cake! What a lovely touch! Liz had been very helpful right through the booking process. The cottage was absolutely beautiful with everything you could possibly need and plenty of space for the five of us! St Teath is such a lovely village to stay in, we visited the pub a couple of times, delicious roast beef sourced locally from the butchers next door to the cottage! The shop was very convenient too! We were also fortunate enough to be in the village for the Christmas lights switch on, which was amazing! I just wish our stay had been longer than four nights! I think we’ll be back again! Just wonderful!

Lovely cosy,comfortable cottage

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Liz's cottage with relatives from Australia who loved the atmosphere of the house. A great jumping off point for Eden Project, Padstow & Port Isaac we just wish we had longer to visit more places. Everything was too hand in the cottage & a warm welcome with tea & ginger cake. Thank you Liz,we hope to return.
