Apartment in Edinburgh, Scotland - Perfect Location With Easy Access To Centre Of Town

This property is a short bus ride from the city centre. It is close to many places of interest, The Botanical Gardens, The Royal Yacht Britannia, Portobello Beach, The Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre and Cinema, the Water of Leith, to name but a few. The surrounding restaurants and bars are superb, having atmosphere and character, superb food, and are only a 5 minute stroll away. The shopping centre is well worth a visit, and when the bags get too heavy, head home and unload, ready to start again!

About Diana Callander

I live in the sleepy town of Kelso in the Borders, and work part-time in a local Doctors Surgery. At weekends I love to head up to the city and enjoy the buzz and faster pace of life. I have always loved the area of Leith, mainly for the restaurants and the stunning views, and was lucky enough to find this wonderful converted whisky warehouse 12 years ago. It has all the charm of an old building but a modern interior. I used to have a soft furnishings business so have made all the curtains etc and enjoyed making a few quirky bits and pieces too which can be found in various rooms throughout the apartment.

I love meeting my guests if work allows, and answering any questions they may have. It is very important to me that their stay is the best it possibly can be!

Well Worth Staying

Will definitely stay here again lovely apartment that has all that you require for a very pleasant stay. Dianna the owner could not have been more helpful even down to having milk in so you could arrive and have that all important cup of coffee after the journey (Thank You Dianna) The apartment is well situated with a bus stop just a few minutes away and a regular service to take you into the town centre. Right on you doorstep just a 10 minute walk away you have the Royal Yacht Britannia and the Ocean Drive shopping centre.

Wonderfully spacious and well kept 3 bdrm

We were traveling for a celebratory vacation for my son's graduation and wanted a place to stay close to Edinburgh. Such a great treat to walk into this very large and immaculately kept apartment.

We had a party of 4 adults - and each of us had a private area to relax and stretch out. Each room had fresh and clean linens and the bathrooms were large and wonderful!

Communication with Di was excellent, and we were given instructions on how to get into the unit as soon as we arrived from the airport.

Diana was very attentive and thoughtful to leave biscuits, tea, coffee, and milk for our use.

The flat is in Leith (the waterfront) and was easy walking distance to a small market, restaurants, and bakeries. The bus is easy to catch across the street and they run quite frequently (make sure you pay attention to the direction of travel - otherwise, you get the grand tour of the outlying city, like we did!). The bus was very inexpensive and provides a relatively quick and easy trip into Edinburgh proper - for a day of sightseeing and shopping on the Royal Mile.

Would absolutely recommend Diana's flat to family and friends, and would also stay again, the next time we are traveling in Scotland.

Thank you Di for the visit on check-out day and for the recommendations before we traveled. Excellent to meet you and get to stay in your lovely home!

A fabulous comfortable apartment

We arrived at 8am after our journey on the sleeper train from London and it was so lovely to unpack and make ourselves at home in this wonderful apartment. Everything was immaculately clean and well maintained and the tea and biscuits were very welcome! Diana could not have done more to make us feel welcome. The apartment was fantastic - lots of space for us and our 3 children (15, 13 11) and only a short bus ride into town. Mimi's is a definite must for breakfast and we had a great meal at the Kings Wark - both within walking distance. Will definitely recommend to friends and family and would love to come back - thank you!

Great apartment in an ideal location!

We were using this lovely apartment for the weekend when my daughter and her family arrived from the US for a 3 week stay. We met them in the airport and went straight to the flat to be welcomed by Diana. She couldn't have been more helpful as we had a change of arrival time at the last minute. The flat was clean and warm and comfortable. Great facilities and plenty of hot water for showers for jet lagged people! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thanks Di!

Edinburgh airport is a 30 minute taxi ride away or the No. 34 bus comes all the way to Leith. Waverley Station is a ten minute taxi ride away, or hop on a bus down to Leith from Princess Street. They run every five minutes. If travelling by car, there is ample parking at the door on the cobbled tramlines in front of the building.

Further Details:

We have an Asda, a Tesco and a Lydls, and a Marks and Spensers Food Hall, all within 3/4 mile, so guests are spoilt for choice! There are many of the main shops in the Ocean Terminal such as Debenhams, British Home Stores, Gap, French Connection, Fat Face, to name but a few. Also a very good Whisky Shop if you like to enjoy!
