About this property

Villa with Magnificent views of the Mediterranean sea-own private Pool.

The Villa Verman (important new information, The road to the Villa from Los Romanes has now been concreted so access in now perfect)
The Villa is situated 1.5 kms from the village of Los Romanes in the hills above the coastal towns of Velez Malaga and Torre del Mar and only 45 minutes from Malaga Airport.
All modern facilities are there, including free WIFI internet access, satellite TV, plunge pool and air conditioning and ceiling fans.
The 3000 litre concrete built plunge pool is totally secluded and is raised off the ground for safety reasons.
Being only 14 years old the property is in immaculate condition inside and out.
The South facing Property is fenced around the villa itself, and so is ideal for small children to wander around in complete safety and also for your pets.

In the Village of Los Romanes 6 mins away by car, are two shops to provide your everyday needs, two Restaurants -both of which we would recommend (maybe you would like to Google "Venta El Charco"), and a couple of small spanish bars.
Further down on the banks of lake Vinuela are two further Restaurants, which again, we would recommend, and if you were to continue on further there is the village of puente don manuel with 2 English supermarkets, garages, banks, hairdressers, dentists and excellent health centre, All 10 minutes from the Villa.

You are not alone,-- unless you prefer to be?
Our villa is only 100 meters away--although due to the topography, there is no direct line of sight,so your privacy is secured
We can help you with all the local information you require and be at hand should you require assistance of any kind

Things to do.
The list is endless depending on the type of holiday you want, but I will name a few.
wind surfing,kyaking,sailing,water parks,go karting,Quad bike riding,4x4 tours,horse riding,birdwatching,walking,cycling,fishing,swimming,
diving, scuber diving, and doing absolutely nothing?

The local area
This is the "real Spain"--not a concrete jungle as you will find further afield along the coast.
The Majority of the surrounding land is used for the production of Grapes,Olives,Avocados and Mangos.
With the Villa being 450 metres above sea level, on the south facing side of a hill called el tinaou, on the outskirts of Los Romanes, above lake Vinuela, --the views to the Mediterranean sea and nearby towns of Velez- Malaga and Torre del Mar are incredible night or day.
(Both Velez malaga and Torre del mar are only 20 mins away by Car.)

A little more information...

Velez Malaga-- is the capital of the region of the Axarquia on the "sun and avacado route" which runs for 75 kms along the coast.
With a population of 77,000 inhabitants it is a vibrant Town and only 1 km from the coast. During the 800 year rule of the Moorish occupation, it was known as the fortress of Malaga-much of this still exists today.

Torre del Mar is basically between Velez Malaga and the Mediterranean--again a vibrant Town with a population of 22,000, one of its main industries is tourism, every activity you would expect is here!! -but without the crime sometimes associated with some of the bigger tourist cities to the west.

I dont think I can say much more, but should you contact us, much more detailed information is available.

We hope to hear from you soon, and be assured of a warm and friendly welcome,- Summer or winter

Best Regards

Paul and Gabrielle

Stunning views of sea and mountains from a lovely villa!
We stayed here for 5 nights in November. This one bed villa is located 10 minutes away from Lake Vinuella up a windy dirt track road behind the village of Los Romanes. We met our lovely host Paul who showed us the way to the villa. We drove there in a mini convertible. The villa can be found high up on the hillside with fantastic views of the mountains and sea. We chose it for the views and to get away for some peace and quiet. You don't have any neighbours directly. Paul and Gabrielle's villa is located on a nearby hill. If we had any concerns Paul was quick to assist. There is a covered sun terrace at the front with nice deckchairs and tables. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for a long stay including a microwave and gas heated oven. There is a local shop in the village which is useful for supplies. It can get a bit cold in the evenings in the winter but there are radiators as well as air conditioning. All of the rooms are large. The bedroom has a big bed and two mattresses. The bathroom has a washing machine which was useful for us. There is good internet. We enjoyed many beautiful sunsets at the villa.

Peace & Quiet
Communications with host was excellent, we ended up arriving over an hour late and Paul was great. Met us at a local bar to guide us in to our accommodation. Total, privacy no-one overlooking, the plunge pool is to the side in wonderful shade by 3:30 (end of July). From mid-day the sun was too intense for us so the outdoor shaded terrace was a godsend. Lovely to have a good sized TV, we took our FireStick with us and had no problem streaming netflix in the evenings. Grab the pillows off your bed for some extra sofa bed comfort on the couch and the portable air-con in the bedroom, while loud was very welcome at night leading to height of summer temperatures. The star of the show though has to go to ‘Sparky’ the most delightfully friendly black & white dog. She is an absolute darling, please give her cuddles and treats. She bounds in with an energetic smile, and spinning greeting; 10 mins of fuss and then she’ll find a cool spot and sleep for the rest of the day and doesn’t beg for food but welcomes treats gently. We were in desperate need of secluded peace and quiet to recharge our batteries as hectic key workers and this did the trick perfectly. Thank you for our stay and lovely to meet you Paul, all the best Donna & Simon x

Peace and Tranquillity
Thank you Paul and Gabrielle for our stay at "Villa Verman". We really enjoyed our stay, the peace and quiet along with the spectacular views were amazing. Great base for exploring the surrounding area. As Paul told us you really do need to have a hire car that is powerful enough to make the trip up the "country road" from Los Ramones to the villa. Having said that the trip was well worth it when you arrived at the villa. Thanks once again and we hope that we may return in the future.

About the host

Hosted by Paul Dobson

Host profile image
Having served in the Royal Marines for 12 Years, and during this time travelled all over the World, I decided on a new life in a warmer climate.
I ran a few successful small businesses in England but wanted to slow down-life was going too fast for me-and work was all my life.
Having found this area, life is a lot slower--we get things done, but at a much more relaxed pace.
During the first Years it was so frustrating not to get a delivery, for example, on time, now I expect it to be late.
Between the afternoon siestas (excuse for a sleep or a brandy in the local bar)--romerias, fiestas and every other excuse to slow down even more, it suprises me we get anything done--but we do.

Why they chose this property

I bought a House in the same area when I first Moved to Spain in 1996, My Wife and I thought we would have a Villa built for us as an investement and hopefully as an income stream.
The Villa is nestled amongst the Olive Groves of Andalusia Southern Spain. With views of the Mediterranean Sea to the south and the Sierra Nevada Mountains north, these views at 450 mtrs above sea level are awe inspiring--forget the postcards you can buy on the Coast--you are actually here!
If your wish is to experience life in the true Spain, and involve yourselves in the local culture including local fiestas and romerias you will be made most welcome.
Just walking through the villages you will be greeted with an OLA!--(HELLO) from a total stranger-where they speaking to me? Yes they were!
try it and see?

What makes this property unique

We have our own Property 100 metres away further up the Hill, although we do not have a direct view of the rental property, so your privacy is secure.
5 minutes away is the Village of Los Romanes, a white washed Village undiscovered by most--with small " local" priced shops, and restaurants-why pay tourist prices?
Also the community outside pool in the village is huge, and always kept in immaculate condition--open all summer
You truly need to visit this special place--you will never forget it--and you will return again and again.
Because we are nearby-we can offer you our support and knowledge of the entire area if you need it.
We can organise trips of any kind for you, & point you in the right direction for anything you need
