Three storey, three bedroomed townhouse set on the shores of the crystal clear Caribbean Sea . With luxurious and functional living space and furnished to an extremely high standard. Many excellent restaurants can be found within a ten minute drive of the house. It is a five minute drive to Jolly Harbour and this offers amenities such as a well stocked supermarket, pharmacy, banking facilities and restaurants and bars. The house has three bedrooms, all with en-suite shower rooms and walk in wardrobes and the master bedroom has a luxury bath. There is modern, efficient and quiet air conditioning throughout the property.

Absolutely wonderful place!!
The views of the Caribbean from this 3 story building are breathtaking! It is secluded and very safe yet close to everything you need. We had a small problem with TV but with a simple call to care-taker and email to Gill it was fixed within an hour. You get a view from virtually every room in the house. The A/C was very nice to come in to after a day at the beach.. Some places do not have air conditioning which would be very uncomfortable. We rented a car and explored the whole island, going to half moon bay, Shirley Heights, etc. If that's not your thing, one of the best beaches we found was directly beside the house at Darkwood Beach. We will definitely be back and stay at this same place. I highly recommend staying here to anyone!! Wonderful place!
Four came...four loved it
Our group of four are all 50+ and we found the house delightful. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom with each bedroom was roomy. Loved the shampoo/conditioner provided; cleaned and softened my hair after swimming in salt water. Air conditioning worked well; especially liked the individual controls for each bedroom. Laundry equipment was easy to use; thanks for the providing some detergent. A light in one bathroom was not working and the staff was replacing bulbs within 12 hours or reporting it.
It was easy to walk to the beach (bring swim booties because of rocky entry to the water directly in front of the unit) the beaches either direction from Tamarind Hills were sandy with easy entry. We spent time in the plunge pool everyday and appreciated the patio furniture. The wifi was strong enough to sit on the patio and do a bit of work while relaxing.
Everyone in our group loves the water (one scuba diver and three snorkelers) and while the reef is not as diverse as some other islands, the water is warm and clear. Our best snorkel was at the base of the Pillars of Hercules...large boulders, fish, sea fans and more. The highlight of our week in Antigua was a day trip in a fast boat where we circled the island and got to see the island from a completely different vantage point. We booked with Xtreme adventure and the trip was worth the money.
We ate at three restaurants near the Tamarind Hills: Denney's, O.J.'s and Jackie O's. All were good, but I recommend saving Jackie O's for last.
One experience that will stay in my memory is driving in St. John...Market Street was a hoot. WHEW! I'm glad I was not driving.
Come to Antigua and rent this wonderful home...you will be glad you gifted yourself with the experience.
A truly luxurious stay at Tamarind Hills
From start to finish, our experience at Tamarind Hills exceeded all of our expectations.
Our requirement was for a beautiful, modern villa in Antigua, ideally on the beach, near as many fabulous restaurants as possible, and with enough space to accommodate two couples and two toddlers. Gill's advert covered all of these points and looked too good to be true; yet despite seeing all of the photographs on the website we were still blown away by the location, the views and the style of the property. It is definitely the best villa we have ever rented.
On a practical note, Gill (the property owner) was very responsive to all of our initial questions, and provided a lot of comprehensive information before our trip. The property is kitted out with all of the essentials and there are fantastic staff on site to assist in case of any repairs or emergencies. There were a few little hiccups with the air conditioning whilst we were there and it was dealt with very promptly and professionally.
One of our concerns was whether the property would be 'toddler-friendly'. There are marble floors everywhere, however both of our (very active) boys were absolutely fine - the open plan living and kitchen area provided a good amount of space for them to roam around. In addition, the private infinity pool was a great size for them and, failing that, the beach was a short walk from the villa so there was plenty to do in the immediate surroundings.
We hired a car during our stay (there is a private car park for Tamarind Hills residents) and the villa is located within 5-10 minutes drive of some of the best restaurants on the island. Alternatively, on the nights that we chose to stay in, we were able to source a great range of food and booze from the local supermarket at Jolly Harbour.
All in all, it pained me to leave - it was like paradise waking up to the turquoise sea view every morning and I can't wait to book a return trip and stay in this villa again.
Luxury Villa in a great location!
My husband and I really loved our stay at Tamarind Hills. Set on the waters edge between possibly two of the best beaches on the island, the high quality, luxury development is a work in progress, however we had no disruption at all during our stay and found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful, particularly Gillian the property manager. There will eventually be a board walk which will take you to Ffryes Beach from the accommodation, at the moment you need to drive around, but it only takes a few minutes. You can walk to Darkwood beach but you have to walk on the road for a short distance before getting onto the beach, there is also a beach bar/restaurant here.
The owner Gill gave us lots of information prior to our stay so we well informed about the nearest supermarket etc. What we love about staying in self catering properties is the freedom to have breakfast when ever you like, eat out at the many restaurants in the area or choose to stay in and cook and watch a film occasionally.
After spending some time exploring the island, we ended up at Ffryes beach toward the end of our holiday almost every day. You can hire comfortable sun loungers from Dennis Cocktail Bar and Restaurant for 10 US dollars per day for 2, and we managed to perch ourselves under one of the permanent sun shades which are free (5 dollars if you need to hire a portable one) The menu has lots of fresh local fish and shrimps and we enjoyed everything we ate there including the best rum raisin ice cream ever!! The beach has lovely soft white sand, turquoise water and is hardly ever crowded, with the exception of one day when the cruise ships booked and over 200 people arrived! We went elsewhere on that day needless to say.
We drove twice to Catherine's, on Pigeon beach (near English Harbour) great food, service and location with free sun chairs, highly recommended. We also loved Sheer Rocks restaurant, very close to Tamarind Hills with amazing ocean view tables and excellent food.
To sum up, a great holiday in a beautiful location.Thank you Gill!
What a fantastic villa-- spacious and well appointed. It is close to everything and yet private at the same time. Terrific management staff and a very helpful owner. I would highly recommend Tamarind Hills to my friends! The views can't be beat!!!
