House in Creyssensac Et Pissot, Nr. Vergt, Dordogne, Aquitaine, France - Peaceful but not isolated location on the crest of a hill. Nearest market town 7km

Chanteloube is located in a small hamlet of houses, close to Vergt 7km and Perigueux 15km. From the front the house appears to be 2 storey but it is built on a slope and is in fact over 3 floors, with spacious accommodation for 14 people. Finished to a high standard the house has many outstanding features. There are exposed stone walls and unusual feature stone and tiled works throughout the house, plenty of beams, solid wood flooring and a large wood burner. Outside at the front is a large covered terrace, with access from the dining room, kitchen and one of the bedrooms, there are 2 further terraces, one at the side and also one at the back of the property. There is a swimming pool with a security fence, a lake, large grounds including an orchard.

Why Pauline Day chose Perigord Blanc

The Dordogne has so much to offer everyone, from picturesque villages, vineyards, chateaux and lots of sporting activities, including canoeing, fishing, horse riding etc. Chanteloube is within an hour of most of what the Dordogne has to offer but is not on the tourist route and is peaceful and relaxing. It is easily accessible with Bergerac airport only 30 minutes away.

What makes this house unique

We have tried to create a home from home and have furnished Chanteloube to be as comfortable as we can, we have included everything we would expect from a holiday rental and a bit more. The house is in a small hamlet, which is peaceful but not isolated. We can provide all bed linen, bath and pool towels at a cost of £10 per person, allowing you to travel light, an important consideration, especially if you are flying.

After a fantastic 3 generation holiday 2 years ago we decided to return with a group of close friends. WE really enjoyed relaxing around the swimming pool, although one of our party preferred to beat the lake with his fishing rod! It was great to spend evenings together eating, drinking and playing cards on the front terrace. There are so many interesting and exciting places to visit and we were amazed with the amount of information, maps and books available at the house. Everyone had a superb relaxing break, it is extremely comfortable and well equipped .



It was my first visit to Chanteloube and I was not disappointed. Such a relaxing place to stay. Very clean, very spacious and the owners have provided everything needed, whatever the weather. Would definitely recommend.



Our first holiday to France and what a fantastic property. It is the perfect place if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle.

Notes on accommodation: The house is particularly suited to groups of friends or family because it has good sized spacious accommodation. It is furnished to a high standard and the 2 kitchens are extremely well equipped. There are plenty of games, books, DVD's CD's and toys for inside and out, plus baby equipment, including high chairs, travel cots, bath, potty, baby alarm, sterilser and buggy. Wi-Fi is available. Outside there is a large climbing frame, heated pool, a lake and extensive grounds, with terraces on 3 aspects, plenty of garden furniture and a barbeque. There is a garage and plenty of parking space. Outside: The private 10 x 5 heated pool, has steps running the full width into the pool for easy access. There is a large terraced area for sun bathing on the loungers and an outdoor shower. It is surrounded by safety regulation height walling and fencing, with a child safety locking gate. The lake is fenced off from the main garden area, with bolted gates, allowing access for walking round or for fishing. The covered front terrace is furnished with a large trestle table and chairs and is particularly popular for dining out in the warm summer evenings. Utility Room: Washing machine, fridge, microwave, ironing board, iron, tumble dryer and fitted base and wall units. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen (except for travel cots) bath and pool towels + tea towels are included. A change of towels and bed linen are available, at an extra cost of £10 per person. Changeover days are Sundays, when the house and pool are cleaned. Other: On the ground floor the apartment has, kitchen/dining & TV room + 2 bedrooms and bathroom. There is a TV + DVD & CD players. Games room with table tennis table and dartboard + a garage and the utility room.

Vergt is the nearest market town with supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, doctors, hardware store, hotel, pizza restaurants, local bar and the weekly market. There are lots of activities in the area, including canoeing, horse riding, go karting, swimming etc.

A non refundable deposit is required to secure booking. Balance is due 6 weeks prior to start date of holiday, together with a Good Housekeeping deposit, which is fully refundable within 10 days of departure assuming the house is left reasonably clean and tidy and there are no major breakages or damage.

Changeover Day:
During the summer season, Sunday changeover. Out of season changeover days may be flexible. Arrival from 4pm. Departure 10am.

Notes on prices:
There is a 10% discount available if you book before 31st October for the following year and 5% discount, if you book between 1st Nov & 1st Feb. Late deals also available on request.
