Cosy 3 bedrm stone cottage in Amberley, near Minchinhampton Common close to footpaths and Cotswold villages

Detached stone cottage with spectacular sunset views from patio and every room. Recently extended with large triple glazed centrally heated kitchen diner to enjoy the views from, and new shower room and utility. Gas cooker, large fridge and freezer, dishwasher and gas Rayburn. Comfy sitting room with 42" TV, wifi unlimited broadband and quiet library of varied books, cards and board games. 3 bedrooms with wardrobes and bathroom upstairs. Patio table, 2 benches and 4 directors chairs to enjoy the views from and watch the birds.

5-10 minute walk to Amberley Post Office & Stores and Minchinhampton and Rodborough Common, 1 mile to Nailsworth with good bakers, butchers, cafes, Morrisons supermarket, many gift shops and small independent clothes shops. 3 miles from Stroud with it's weekly Saturday Farmers Market and Sainsburys, Tesco and Waitrose supermarkets. Easy access to Cheltenham, Gloucester, Bristol and many Cotswold villages and attractions.

About Cathy Radford

We've spent 33 years working abroad in various countries and always looked forward to returning to our cosy cottage with it sunset views. Most of the paintings, drawings and photos decorating the cottage were done by our daughter when at school, reflecting our homes in East Africa and Japan.

We're now retired and live part time in New Zealand, southern Europe and England.

Notes on accommodation: This is a totally non smoking house. No pets allowed because of allergies. All heating and utilities included in rental price. Please leave the cottage clean, tidy and as you found it. Outside: Patio with outside furniture and steep garden of shrubs. Parking directly outside on the country lane to the rear, but you can offload on the communal drive beside the house. Utility Room: Washing machine, clothes dryer, clothes airers, iron and board and coat hooks. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen and towels provided and changed weekly. Please leave the cottage clean and tidy and ready the the next guests. Other: Quiet snug library with rocking chairs, eclectic collection of books, board games, cards and jigsaws.

Couldn't fault the accommodation and the location.

Secluded but a short drive to town and surrounded by beautiful countryside. The. Cottage was very clean and fully equipped, would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful break

Lovely cottage, great location, stunning views

Mount Cottage is a lovely property with stunning views across the Nailsworth valley. It is very spacious and well-equipped for a relaxing holiday.

Quiet location but a short stroll up the hill to Michinhampton Common (vast area of open grassland with views in every direction) and three excellent pubs (Black Horse, Amberley Inn and Old Lodge - all serving good food). Longer (but easier!) stroll down the hill into Nailsworth (great small town with individual quirky shops). Also very close to Stroud with its superb weekly farmer's market, supermarkets ... and more quirky shops!

The Stroud Valleys (aka the Five Valleys) is a great area for walking - easy walking along the old railway and canal or across the commons, or more challenging walks from valley to valley.

We've stayed in the Stroud area on numerous occasions and will definitely return, most likely to Mount Cottage if we need a 3 bedroom property.

Great Place to stay when visiting the Cotswolds

We were a group of six German garden lovers who visited this part of the Cotswold for the first time.

The owner were absolutely helpful with the booking even an unusal turnover day was possible. We found the house suited us perfectly, the lady who looks after the house was very really friendly and helpful. We could not ask for more.

The views from EVERY room were just amazing! We all loved it so much that we defintely want to come back.

Lovely spacious cottage with stunning views

We had a wonderful long weekend away in this lovely spacious cottage. Plenty of room for 6 adults and our 3 yr old. Stunning views from the patio and the dining area. We loved walking over the common nearby and visiting the shops in Nailsworth. The Black Horse in Amberley does a splendid Sunday lunch. Jolly Nice farm shop and the Saturday Stroud market are worth visiting too. We love this area and would stay in this cottage again if we came back.

Beautiful cottage in Cotswolds with stunning view

a beautiful cottage in Amberley with stunning views, 3 bedrooms upstairs, 2 bathrooms, accommodates 6 people, close to Nailsworth. Wifi works well but a bit weak upstairs and does not reach far downstairs.

Suggestions - needs a shower in upstairs bathroom, needs stronger wifi, will benefit from a sofa bed downstairs.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your comments. We too would like a shower upstairs but this would require re-configuring and re-plumbing the whole bathroom due to the sloping ceiling, which is a future plan. We use wifi throughout downstairs when we are there and it works well, but we will look at putting in a booster. We choose not to have a sofa bed downstairs as we prefer to keep the cottage to a max of 6 people to give more space for families. However we do allow higher occupancy if families bring their own travel cots and bedding.

We are currently staying at this great cottage. Fabulous cottage and location. Can highly recommend the cottage, the Bkack Horse, the Balti Nailsworth Indian takeaway and the fantastic walks including the walk to Nailsworth. Love it here.
