A home from home, offering comfortable, spacious holiday accommodation for large families and groups. The property is easily accessed, only 15 minutes from the M4 motorway. From it’s position in the heart of the Gower peninsular you can then easily reach the sandy beaches, secluded coves, coastal paths and breathtaking scenery of the Gower, Britain’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Old Joinery is perfect for large families, with plenty of parking, a large garden and exterior games room with pool table, table tennis, dart board, air hockey table and even bikes. The house is also well located for walking and is within 200 metres of a flat tarmacked cycle path providing safe and enjoyable access all the way to Swansea Bay and the Mumbles. Golfing, riding, outdoor pursuits and watersports are plentiful within the local area. The vibrant city of Swansea itself is approximately 5 miles with many restaurants, bars, shops and marina. Swansea is also home to the LC2, Wales’ biggest indoor waterpark providing great entertainment for kids of all ages. The Gower also provides many places of historical interest including several well preserved Norman Castles including Oystermouth Castle in Mumbles. The Old Joinery has a shop and pub within easy walking distance a shopping centre with excellent Butcher, Baker and supermarkets within 5 minutes drive.

About Matthew Elliott

The Old Joinery has been in our family since it was built around 1910. This is the family home which we grew up in and was a working Joinery for almost a century until around 2010.

The house was completely refurbished in 2012 and we are pleased to say that all our visitors feel it has become a home from home.

We hope you decide to visit the Gower and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to email or text.

What makes this house unique

The house is particularly good for large families or 2 families to stay with flexible accommodation that will give you privacy but also plenty of space for socialising, both inside and out.

It is easy to get to on a Friday evening, only 15 minutes from the M4. It is also a great base from which to explore the Gower and City of Swansea.

The Gower Peninsula is a wonderful place to visit and offers something for everyone, from adrenaline junkies who can enjoy the surfing and coasteering to those looking for a more relaxing times, enjoying the beautiful coast paths and long history to be explored: the dramatic ruin of Pennard Castle on Three Cliffs Bay is a favourite of ours.

"The Old Joinery really ticked all the boxes with providing a lovely environment for a family of a mixture of ages. We were absolutely blessed with the weather and the children enjoyed their time in the garden and games room (such a good idea for when the weather is not too good!).The bikes were also well utilised. Great to be working in the kitchen and not be isolated as we found the family tended to spend their time in the seating area opposite. Couldn't fault the bedrooms and beautiful bathroom/shower rooms. Would have no hesitation in recommending The Old Joinery for family occasions."

A beautiful spacious house that feels like home, lovely use of space , gorgeous bathroom , great games room in garage , lovely big garden , everything you need & more , lovely cosy sitting room. The owners are wonderful , a welcome pack with coffee, tea , squash , milk , wine & welsh cake, board games & DVDs . Thank you for sharing your home it was lovely x

For 6-7 day bookings the full weekly amount will be charged

Utility Room: The garage has 6 adult bikes; 3 children's bikes of various sizes and a 'trail-gator' which visitors are welcome to use. Please make sure you check the safety of the bikes before using them (tyres/ brakes etc) and inform us of any problems noticed. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Gas, Electricity, Bed linen and towels are included, as is broadband. Cot and a further travel cot are available on request, along with a High chair. The property is cleaned prior to arrival on a Friday and a Welcome pack is included. Other: The living room patio doors lead to a paved patio with furniture and BBQ. Three steps lead down to a large lawned garden. The ground floor also has a dining room seating 12 and second sitting room with sofas and TV/DVD and Gas coal-effect fire.
