Apartment in Valencia City, Costa Del Azahar, Spain - 15 Minutes From Centre Of Valencia it Is famous for many Restaurants And Bars

We bought this flat in July 2014 as an investment, and as a base to visit my mother who lives close by. It gives us a second home from which to enjoy the many sights and features of this vibrant city (see travel guides) and view here (copy and paste into browser) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vt2TGmS1rxw . It needs at least to 'pay its way' so we are making it available for short stay guests. It was previously owned for 11 years by a fastidious couple who had spent 25,000 Euros refurbished the flat to a very high standard. They left most of their furniture which can be seen in the photos. (They retained their statues of the Buddhas!). The lounge was remodeled, and has a large square kitchen with mostly new white goods. It has exquisite parquet flooring, many large wardrobes in each of the three bedrooms. The flat is bright and airy.

About The Owner

Beth and I retired from professional positions three years ago. We live in South West London and enjoy many hobbies, sport, sailing and 6 grandchildren.

My parents came to the UK as refugees from Spain during the Spanish Civil war. Our mother returned to live in her native Valencia as a widow in 2003. Having property in Valencia and a holiday home in nearby Cullera (see alternative posting on Owners Direct webpage), we are able to visit her easily and enjoy the delights of this fascinating city and enjoy the sun drenched seaside.

My two brothers and I have agreed that the flats need to pay their way, so we are offering to share them with responsible tenants from the UK.

We hope they give you as much pleasure as they have us and our families.

Why The Owner chose Extra murs

We bought the flat for a number of reasons. Primarily as an investment, but to be near my mother when we visit her. We hope to cover costs and a little more. Short term letting allows us and our children and grandchildren to use it when vacant. It appealed to us as it was by far the best of the many we viewed with its stunning interior and comfort it affords.

It is very handy for the city centre, and the many amazing sites it has.

Lovely apartment with good utilities and overall great location

This 3 bedroom apartment was perfect for 2 couples and one child. The master bedroom is spacious and has an en-suite which was great.

Fully equipped kitchen including a juicer, which was brilliant when you could buy lovely fresh oranges from the nearby supermarkets.

Nice cafes nearby to the apartment and generally a good location for wanting to walk around the city as it didn't seem too far from any particular place.

Easy to get taxi from outside the apartment to the beach. One thing to note, Taxi's only take 4 passengers including children, so there are no big taxi's for 6-7 people.

Overall an amazing holiday for us all and we got lucky with the lovely weather too.

Luis, the restaurant recommendations were really good and appreciated. Thanks for your help and quick return of our deposit.

Nice place, good location

Luis, the owner was very easy to communicate with. He responded almost immediately and was very patient in answering our question. The house was clean and had everything you need. It was just as on the pictures. It was very clean and spacious for our party of 6. There are enough seating in the living room.

There are 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms (1 master bedroom with 1 double bed, 1 bedroom with 1 double beds and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds). The single beds were very comfortable but according to others in our party the double beds were somewhat small. It was ok for us but for big persons it might be tight. The location is very convenient with a lot of busses closeby and we felt very safe in the neighborhood, also at night time. The nice Plaza de la Reina is only a few busstops away. We bought a 3 day pass in a Tabacco shop for eur 11.00 which was valid on all busses and metro. It was a great plus and we used it a lot!

Valencia is a very nice and beautiful city with nice people and a lot of good places to eat. We love the city of Valencia and enjoyed our time and will certainly visit Valencia again and will sure stay at Luigi's place if available. I will certainly recommend this house.

Tip for a great Italian restaurant: La pappardelle very close to Plaza de la Reine. The food was amazing with nice friendely staff and great delicious 3 course menus for only Eur 12,99!! If you love Italian food you should try this restaurant.

Amazing apartment,

We arrived to a very comfortable and spotless apartment. The contact with the owner Luis prior to our stay was first class and all questions were answered almost immediately.

The area surrounding the apartment was lovely and the walk to the old town in a leisurely stroll took around 15 mins.

Should we return to Valencia ( there are more cities on our list to visit first!)we would definitely rent this apartment again.

A lovely, well maintained apartment.

We really enjoyed staying in this lovely 3 bedroom apartment. The property is spacious and very well maintained. It is a great location from which to explore Valencia, only a few minutes walk from a metro stop.

There is so much to see and do in Valencia from the amazing City of Arts and Science, exploring the historic Old Town, the Bio Parc and the beaches.

We al had a brilliant time.

Loved the apartment

When we were walking up to the apartment we were a bit skeptical as it was not as touristy as we were used to, but going inside we were pleasantly surprised. The apartment has everything from shampoo & hair dryer to salt & pepper & tea & coffee. The washer/dryer took a few days to learn & cannot be overloaded & takes a long time but the owner has user manuals for all appliances so is easy to figure out. We used the parking & loved it as it is in and out entry & fit our mini van. We found it easy to walk to most places & is close to a sport centre if you want to go swimming. The owner Luis has a very easy hand over of keys in the mail, which we appreciated compared to other rentals, just remember the locking mechanism on the door is turning the key 4 x to open & lock. There is a selection of movies in English & 2 wifi spots in the apartment, 1 in the living room for the front of the house & another located in the hall bathroom for the back of the house. Overall, very impressed with our stay!

It is always a nervous time when approaching a holiday destination for the first time and I agree it is simply a city centre location without any direct tourist attraction. These of course are a 10 minute walk away. Posting keys to future guests (as we live in London) at least a month before hand gives confidence and has never let us down. Our agent nearby can attend entries if required.The front door has a super secure locking system and a steel lining. I upgraded our wifi to an 'all singing all dancing' ADSL superfast 300mb/sec unlimited system for downloading and streaming, as this is what was asked for by our guests. The range extender allows use at both ends of the apartment. You and your party are welcome back at any time. Best wishes, Luis

Impressed, high quality rental property

This spacious flat is tastefully decorated, fully equipped, warm, bright and safe. I have never seen such a sophisticated lock system on a residential front door. The beds were comfortable and there was lots of hot water. The neighbors were considerate concerning noise levels so that was not a problem. The upgraded windows remarkably conceal the noise level of the busy streets below. Suitable for children but if there is a lacking in this rental, it would be the relatively small screen size of the LCD tv so children and night-time home-bodies might prefer a larger screen. I highly recommend this first class property and your stay there will not disappoint. But it will motivate a return visit to Valencia.

Nearest Airport : Valencia at 6 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Abastos at 100 Metres Nearest Ferry : Valencia at 5 Kilometres Nearest Golf : 9 hole course Valencia airport at 5 Kilometres Nearest Train : Estacion del Norte at 1 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : Valencia at 3 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Many within 200 metres at 75 Metres Nearest Ski : at 200 Kilometres Nearest Beach : Malvarossa at 3 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

Valencia has Malvarosa beach, about 4 miles from flat. It has a large expanse of sand and well served by many restaurants. Bus, number 3 from 100 metres left from the flat or taxi at about 14 Euros from the flat. The metro reaches the beach. The modern marina district is next to the beach, where the America's Cup was contested three years ago, and the formula 1 street race circuit feature.

Travel:

Valencia airport is about 4 miles from the front door, although also served by a metro from the terminal building. Taxi from airport metered charge of approx. 15 Euros, return 12 Euros. Angel Gimera underground station about 400 metres away. EasyJet serves Valencia from London Gatwick and cheap flights can be booked from around £75 return off peak. The metro reaches most parts of Valencia. Valencia has many taxis with a 4 Euro charge get you to the centre of town.

Distances:

The famous Albufera, rice growing region is about 5 miles from the flat and a popular nature reserve. Boat trips on the lake recommended from El Palmar village where many restaurants serve Paella.

Other beaches at El Saler, and villages south to Cullera and Gandia, about 30 miles, for alternative places to visit.

Further Details:

The flat is close to local supermarkets and next to a large sport centre and 100 metres from swimming pool. Secure private car park may be available. From the bull ring and main railway station, Estacion del Norte, a walk up Colon to El Corte Ingles takes you through the shopping centre of Valencia. El Corte Ingles is the Harrods of Valencia.

A deposit will secure the dates required. This is £100 per week. It converts to a security deposit on arrival and refunded promptly on clearance from our cleaner.

We live in South West London and will post keys to renters before departure and return deposit on receipt of returned keys and confirmation of condition of property from Jacqueline. No specific handover dates or times, just to suit you and availability.

Changeover Day:
No specific change over days. Arrival and departure times flexible, enough separation between rentals to allow servicing and cleaning.

Notes on prices:
From £40 to £70 per night. Cleaning and internet included but additional laundry charge for parties over 2 people of £15 per week,

Payment can be made direct by bank transfer, by cheque, in sterling or Euro equivalent, by Euros direct to Euro account. Bookings of more than 2 weeks will attract a negotiable discount.
