Holiday Home in Holetown, St James, Barbados, Caribbean - Fantastic Location, Private Road, 5 Min Walk To Beach, Shops, Supermarket, Bars and Restaurants

Little Bimshire is a beautifully Furnished, 3 bedroom 3 bathroom (all en-suite) Bungalow constructed 7 years ago adjoining Bimshire House. It is in a Private road in the Holetown area, on the Beautiful Platinum West Coast. There is a large family pool (shared with the Owners in Bimshire House when occupied) with pool and patio lights, and plenty of patio area for a Bar-B-Q entertaining and sunbathing, there is also an outside shower by the pool and a large undercover entertainment area. Across the back of the pool there is a large avery with multi coloured Budgies, Tortoises, waterfall and fish pond. The garden has numerous fruit trees including Limes, Pomigranite, coconut, mango, Bananas etc, of which guest are welcome to use when in fruit. Due to our location a car is not essential as Little Bimshire is within 5 minutes walk of all local amenities including; Banks, Post Office, Shopping Mall, Supermarket, 24 hour garage, Cinema and the famous Lime Grove Mall (where top brand clothes and jewellery can be purchased duty free). There are numerous Bars and Restaurants in Holetown catering for all tastes including local Bajan dishes, Ragamuffins restaurant in 1st Street is a must on a Sunday night for great food and entertainment and then join the street party afterwards (if your fit enough). Also within a 5 minute walk are beautiful White Sandy Beaches, with numerous Water Sports (scuba diving, Snorkelling, Fishing, Waterskiing, Glass Bottom Boat rides and Swimming with Turtles. Local buses are plentiful, reliable and cheap, and can take you all over the Island, including into Bridgetown, where as in Lime Grove you can do your Duty Free Shopping, especially for Fine Jewellery such as Diamonds, Emeralds, Rubies, Sapphires and the very rare and beautiful Tanzanite, also famous brand watches including Rolex, Omega, Tag etc. are also all available Duty Free. For the more energetic there are several World Class Golf Courses a short drive away, Horse Riding, tennis and Polo are also nearby, and some of the best Diving in Barbados can be found at Folkstone Marine Park in St. James.

Fantastic Villa in a Great Location

We had a brilliant 15 nights at Little Bimshire. It’s a very spacious villa with 3 large ensuite bedrooms all with fans and air conditioning. Continuous use of the ceiling fans throughout with the windows open kept the villa cool. Bars on the windows & doors kept the villa safe!

The pictures on the site do not do this villa justice. It is well equipped, clean and well maintained and the living/dining area huge.

The pool, which is a good size and deep at one end (perfect for jumping in and diving), was just lovely, with sun all day long, perfect for lazy pool days or to relax of an evening after a day at the beach. There were plenty of sunbeds & chairs and a shed full of inflatables suitable for all ages.

The owners, Baz and Julie, were very helpful both before and during our stay, they made us feel very welcome and although they lived next door we didn’t feel at all intrusive. Coffee, tea, sugar, breakfast goods and beer was supplied and much appreciated on arrival after a long flight!

The location of the villa is perfect. It is in a quiet area but only a few minutes’ walk down the road to Lime Grove Mall, a large Massy supermarket, petrol station, cash point and restaurants. It took us approximately 8-10 minutes to leisurely walk to the beautiful beach.

We pre-hired a car from MAH rentals (a recommendation from Julie) which was delivered to the Villa and something I’d recommend. Made good use of it to visit most of the beaches on the West and South West Coast plus an adventurous drive to the West Coast! Also visited the Barbados Wildlife Reserve where we all enjoyed feeding time; worth a visit for a couple of hours.

We were sad to leave but came home fully refreshed with lots of stories and photographs. If we were to return we would definitely come back to Little Bimshire, the perfect base to explore Barbados!

Great 10 days

We arrived to a warm welcome from Baz and Tia, met the lovely Julie later in the day. Rooms were spacious with everything one can need, nice welcoming pack so had tea and coffee along with essentials on arrival. Pool area had plenty of loungers and chairs, we were a party of 7 and plenty of room for all to relax. Baz and Julie when needed throughout the week were happy to help and even drove one of our party to doctors which was such a kind gesture. The villa is just outside holetown, 5 minutes at tops with beach only a few more minutes away. This was my first visit to Barbados but will certainly be back and Little Bimshire will be my first choice for accommodation.

Great find with very friendly hosts

Well appointed and sizeable property that can easily sleep 6 without everyone being on top of each other. It is located in a nice quiet area which is a 5 minute stroll from Holetown. The owners Baz and Julie made us feel very welcome and introduced us to the local art of drinking rum punch!! The pool is lovely and a great place to sit and have a sundowner at the end of the day. You get a lot for your money and we certainly hope to return soon!

Relaxing and great location

Little Bimshire is a lovely, well appointed house with 3 ensuite bedrooms, a large open plan (and very well equipped) kitchen and lounge/dining room. The outdoor patio and pool area is a real delight and catches the sun throughout the day - BBQ, outdoor shower, evening lights.

The owners, Julie and Barry, live next door, and it's a real advantage to have them - adds a feeling of comfort, security and lots of local knowledge - nothing is a problem. Little Bimshire feels like a home, with lots of little touches that comes with nearby owners - for example, a coolbox on wheels for the short walk to the beach.

For those unfamiliar with Holetown and Sunset Crest, everything is 5 mins walk away - bars, restaurants, supermarket, taxi stand. Tourists and the Holetown community create an informal atmosphere without the "tourists with money" feeling we've experienced at, for example, Mullins Beach.

Fantastic villa, great location , Bas and Julie couldn't have been more helpful

Perfectly located 5 mins from the Beach and the new Lime grove shopping plaza.

Beautiful pool and spacious cool rooms made this a perfect villa to say in .

Both Villa & Owners tick all the boxes!!

This Villa delivers more than the pictures illustrate, my wife and I wanted to break the resort mould and pleased we made our choice of Little Bimshire, located conveniently on the west coast to one of Barbados hot spots for eating and recreation.

We were greeted with refreshments then shown round the villa. A welcome pack of Coffee,tea,sugar and breakfast goods for the following morning was supplied, most surprisingly along with sat nav for use in the hire car and a pre pay mobile for use throughout our stay, unexpected and very much appreciated. Barry explained whilst the island maybe small and easily navigated, always difficult to pin point position in the event you may need help, which thankfully we never had to call upon however some of roads lend themselves to damage if not carefully driven on.

This accommodation is spacious and comfortable in all aspects, so much attention has been given to creating a home from home environment surpassing that of would you would expect from 5 star hotels.

Both Barry & Julie not only worked hard to make our stay pleasurable they went the extra mile to establish what they could do to further enhance its appeal to holiday makers. I suggested consideration was given to an outdoor shower for use both when returning from the beach and when getting out the pool to dechlorinate. Upon return from the following days one had been fitted and duly used!!

Having spent many years on the island they were the fountain of knowledge for all aspects of planning days out, when to go at both ends of the budget spectrum.

One of our favourites which was The Tavern Pub in Martin's Bay on the east coast not only a pleasurable drive across the island (roads excepted) interrupted by Monkeys crossing the road occasionally! Great views and upon arrival what can only be described as a large Beach Shack complete with DJ, cheap beer and spirits (4 banks beers for $10 Barbados dollars £3.50!) very clean mind.

Locally Santi Beach bar just up highway 1 towards Speightstown has ogreat facilities, you swim off the shore to enjoy seeing the Turtles and feed them.

Holetown has plenty of good places to eat and drink, good time of day is just as the sun sets over the ocean Zaccios do great cocktails reasonably priced compared to the UK, also good place to eat along with Beach House, Just Grilling an Cafe Bar Carizma

Certainly will be returning in the future and have recommended to friends and associates already.

Grantley Adams international Airport is a 30 minute drive from Holetown, Bridgetown Cruise Terminal is a 15 minute drive from Holetown, taxis are plentiful and have set fares for these journeys, but DO check price with driver before hand


Barbados is 21 miles long and 14 miles wide, all places of interest are within easy reach
