Cottage / house in Tenby, easy walking distance to town centre and award winning beaches

Ideal for any time of year this lovely cottage sleeps up to six adults plus a baby in a cot.

It has a well equipped kitchen and two bathrooms both with showers and one with a bath, free unlimited Wi-fi, gas central heating and gas coal effect fire, plus washing machine, dishwasher, large flat screen tv with freeview, DVD player, cd/ radio etc.

The lounge and dining room are connected by a pair of glazed doors and both rooms are separately accessible from the hall.

All three bedrooms have thermal blackout curtains, full height wardrobes and drawers for storage. The double bedroom also has a clock radio with usb points for charging phones and tablets.

An enclosed rear garden with large paved area, brick barbecue, wooden picnic bench, washing line and raised flower bed with fruit trees and shrubs leads to the lockable garage for one car and two secure off road parking spaces. The parking spaces and garage are accessed from the road via a barrier controlled private car park with CCTV.

There is also a small enclosed front garden with several beds decoratively planted with a variety of bulbs, flowers and shrubs and a gate leading to the street.

Several award winning beaches are within a few minutes walk where a variety of water sports are available.

For hikers, the Pembrokeshire coastal path with its stunning views is easily accessible.

During July and August Tenby's pedestrianised main street offers a range of mainstream and quirky shops, cafe culture along with regular street markets and entertainers.

We are a semi retired couple who live in the Tenby area and have two holiday properties that we rent out.

We have decided to offer them through 'Owners Direct' having successfully rented through the site ourselves on several occasions.

We aim to equip and maintain our properties to the high standard that we ourselves hope to find when renting a holiday home, and encourage our guests to give us honest feedback in order that we can improve on this.

Every winter we undertake some kind of upgrading or redecoration so the guests who return every year (of which there are several) always have something new!

Francis Cottage was bought from a local family who had lived in it for generations, as our future retirement home.

We fell in love with its homely, comfortable feel and large living spaces, as well as being convenient for the town centre and beaches.

What makes this house unique

The house is handy for the walled town and award winning beaches without having to be involved in the summer pedestrianisation of the town centre and the frustration that it brings to car drivers and guests of properties located within the walls.

The house has ample, secure, private off road parking which very few other holiday properties in Tenby have.

The parking spaces are accessed via a private car park that has a security barrier and CCTV, the rest of the spaces in the car park are rented to nearby guest houses and local residents. Sorry we cannot accept pets at this property, however we do have another cottage just outside Tenby at which we do. This is a strictly no smoking property. Between April and October the changeover day is Saturday. We only accept short breaks during low season (October to April) and never during school half terms or Christmas or New year weeks etc.

Delightful house, ideally located

We loved Tenby. Never been to this part of the country before. Pretty town with gorgeous coastline. Was worried it might be a bit snooty - not at all. Lively at weekends, plenty of good places to eat and drink. Terrific beaches - although jellyfish are a problem at the moment. The cottage is a stone's throw from the North Beach and the 'start' of the town centre. Private parking, including garage if you want it. Garden/patio. Fully stocked with everything you'd expect. Mostly modern interior but with a touch of character. Nice airy, roomy feel to it.

If I were to look for a downside - the bedroom containing the double bed is rather small, and also at the front - the property is on a main road, so a lie-in with the window open might be difficult if you're a light sleeper (Neither of us are, so it wasn't a problem). Also the bedding was a bit heavy for the time of year. But these are petty quibbles - this is the fourth time I've stayed in a holiday cottage, and this is the one I've liked the most.

Fantastic place to stay!

We had a lovely weeks stay at Francis Cottage during June 2017. The cottage was perfect for us. 1 double room and 2 twin rooms accommodated myself and my husband, my parents and my toddler. There's both a bathroom and shower room on the first floor so really handy if there's afew of you staying. The kitchen is a lovely size and very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Comfy living room to rest after a full day at the beach.

We loved this place because it is so close to everything. One beach literally 5 mins walk and the other beach another 5 mins further. Shops, restaurants, bars and pubs literally 5 minute walk away too. Another major bonus for us was the parking. We travelled with 2 cars and having allocated, secure parking literally behind the cottage was fantastic.

When we return to Tenby, Francis Cottage will be our 'go to' accommodation and we would definately recommend it to others.

We were more than suprised at the size of this property considering it say cottage,loads of space everything you need and cleaned to a high standard, central to everything shops ,beaches etc and the parking for two cars was a extra bonus

The location of this cottage sells it for us which together with the parking at the rear is Ideal.

A standard lamp in the lounge would improve the reading experience.

Fantastic. Francis Cottage is well located with secure parking. It is a spacious cottage that has everything that you need for a comfortable stay. Spotlessly clean and has a lovely private courtyard garden and secure parking. We had a great holiday!

Excellent standard of accommodation in an ideal location.

We found the cottage to be very clean and spacious accommodation with free off road parking. Its location is ideal for the centre of Tenby and we would definitely recommend this cottage for up to 6 adults to stay in real comfort.

Tenby has five superb beaches which are all within five or ten minutes walk of the house.


Nearest airports are Cardiff and Bristol (two hours by car) there is a small airport at Haverfordwest (half an hour by car) mostly used by private 'planes.

The ferry terminal to Ireland at Pembroke Dock is about ten miles away.


The cottage is within a couple of minutes walk of Tenby town centre and the beaches.

Arrival is hassle free. Pull up at the private car park barrier next door but one to the cottage, collect your key and barrier pass from the key box, drive through the barrier, turn left and park in your private parking spaces or garage, open the garden gate, walk up the garden path and let yourselves in through the back door.

No queuing, no hassle or parking to collect keys, just arrive and relax!

Further Details:

The house has been let through a holiday letting agent for over ten years but we have decided to let it through 'Owners Direct' so that we can offer a better price and a higher, more personal standard of service.

It has most recently been graded 'Visit Wales' four stars and was previously five star graded when the Welsh tourist board was the grading agency.

Booking Notes:
There is a £100 'good housekeeping' deposit payable with your booking which will normally be refunded within 7 days of the end of your visit provided that the property is left in reasonable condition. Minor breakages will only be charged at cost.
However, if you smoke in the property we will retain your deposit in full due to the extra cleaning needed to get rid of the smell.

Short breaks are not available over the 'iron man' event weekend as we only rent for full weeks with a Saturday changeover at that time of year.
