Cottage / house in Tenby, easy walking distance to town centre and award winning beaches

Ideal for any time of year this lovely cottage sleeps up to six adults plus a baby in a cot. It has a well equipped kitchen and two bathrooms both with showers and one with a bath, free unlimited Wi-fi, gas central heating and gas coal effect fire, plus washing machine, dishwasher, large flat screen tv with freeview, DVD player, cd/ radio etc.

The lounge and dining room are connected by a pair of glazed doors and both rooms are separately accessible from the hall.

An enclosed rear garden with large paved area, brick barbecue, wooden picnic bench, washing line and raised flower bed with fruit trees and shrubs leads to the lockable garage for one car and two secure off road parking spaces. The parking spaces and garage are accessed from the road via a barrier controlled private car park with CCTV.

There is also a small enclosed front garden with several beds decoratively planted with a variety of bulbs, flowers and shrubs and a gate leading to the street.

Several award winning beaches are within a few minutes walk where a variety of water sports are available.

For hikers, the Pembrokeshire coastal path with its stunning views is easily accessible.

During July and August Tenby's pedestrianised main street offers a range of mainstream and quirky shops, cafe culture along with regular street markets and entertainers.

About the Owner

We are a semi retired couple who live in the Tenby area and have two holiday properties that we rent out.

We have decided to offer them through 'Owners Direct' having successfully rented through the site ourselves on several occasions.

We aim to equip and maintain our properties to the high standard that we ourselves hope to find when renting a holiday home, and encourage our guests to give us honest feedback in order that we can improve on this.

Every winter we undertake some kind of upgrading or redecoration so the guests who return every year (of which there are several) always have something new!

Perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Anthea and Paul's cottage in the centre of Tenby was a perfect location for a recent climbing/walking trip to Pembrokshire. Communication at the booking stage was efficient and easy. Directions were clear. Paul met us on arrival and was happy to answer any questions we had. The property was very well equipped, cosy and was in really good condition. Free parking provided at the rear of the property was very convenient. We would hope to return to this property and would highly recommend it.

Nice place with a lot going for it - good location

  • 4 of 5

First impressions were good - convenient location - obviously just cleaned to a decent standard - parking facility is a big plus for Tenby and very secure too. Although we enjoyed our stay (in spite of unfortunate poor weather), there were 2 issues that significantly detracted from our overall experience. Both concerned the sleeping arrangements. In our opinion, all mattresses need replacing, particularly the 2 singles (back room) & the double in the slightly smaller front bedroom - also, there did not appear to be any alternative bedding to the fairly warmish quilts on the beds - although the weather was not that warm, we were uncomfortably hot under this quilt - so we opened the window, and found that the traffic noise was very disturbing from very early on. If these relatively easily fixed issues were sorted, I would rate the property 5 stars. I wasn't going to give feed back in this case as I didn't wish to sound over fussy or negative - however, since you've specifically asked for a review, this is our honest considered view.

Regards,

Ted Hawksworth.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your review, Ted. We value the thoughts and comments of our guests as often it is the only way we can learn of problems or maintenance issues with the cottages. We do encourage guests to inform us at the time of any issues they encounter as in many cases they are minor and can be quickly addressed and rectified. Every year we make improvements to and redecorate the cottages and replacing the mattresses in Francis Cottage was already on the list for this winter, along with replacing the lounge furniture and various improvements to the general decor of the property. I'm not sure what we can do about the duvet situation as, without reducing the bedroom or living areas, we are unable to store additional, spare bedding in the cottage. Many thanks for making the point, though, and we are sorry you were inconvenienced during your otherwise enjoyable holiday.

Well equipped cottage in great location

  • 5 of 5

A great cottage which is only a few minutes from the sea. Very useful to have own parking at the back. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

Lovely Cottage in a Fantastic Location!

  • 5 of 5

Francis Cottage is a lovely spacious (3 bedroom/2 bathroom) property with the beaches, shops, bars and restaurants of Tenby all within strolling distance. The property is very well equipped, very much a home from home, and one of the best we have stayed in . One of the main selling points for us was the secure parking at the rear of the property which would easily accommodate 2 cars. We ate out most nights as the choice of pubs and restaurants in Tenby was excellent but the cottage had all the facilities needed to cook a meal should you choose to do so.

We found plenty to do whatever the weather. The beaches in Tenby are glorious and I can highly recommend the seal safari which was brilliant fun(despite the rain!) .

I would not hesitate to recommend the cottage to family and friends and would definitely visit again.

Amazing stay in beautiful Tenby

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for 3 nights, May 2016. 2 adults and 2 children. What an amazing property. One of cleanest properties I have ever stayed in. Not a thing out of place and everything you could ever need during your stay, including tea, coffee , sugar etc.

Location was fantastic, only a short stroll to the beautiful beaches and so close to all the shops, bars and restaurants.

Couldn't recommend this property enough and we are already planning on returning for a week next year as Tenby is so beautiful with so much to do.

Facilities

From the Owner

The house is handy for the town centre and award winning beaches but without having to be involved in the summer traffic ban chaos and the frustration that it brings to car drivers, and owners and guests of properties located within the walls. The house has ample, secure, private off road parking which very few other holiday properties in Tenby have.
