Spacious Apartment In Sennen Cove, Cornwall With Exceptional Sea Views.

Overview

Property

Updated: 30-Nov-2016
Beaches, Maria's Lane, Sennen Cove, Cornwall, - Easy Access To The Beach, Private Terrace, Parking For 2 Cars.

Beaches Whitesands Apartments, was originally built in the 1850's as the Sennen Cove Hotel. It is close to the cove but also has spectacular views across the bay. We have watched pods of dolphins playing in the surf, curious seals lifting their heads out of the water to watch the swimmers, even basking sharks (large but harmless plankton eaters) lazily drifting around the bay in June. None of these can of course be guaranteed but we have seen them all. Beaches offers all this and a spacious, comfortable and very well equipped holiday home for 8 people.

About the Owner

As part of our family came from Sennen we had been visiting the area all our lives. It may be in our genes but we have always loved the place. My sister and I jointly own the apartment with our respective spouses and our brother lives nearby. Although we cannot live permanently in Sennen for family and work reasons, when we found that we were in a position to buy Beaches we didn't hesitate.

Magnificent views. Memories are made of this!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment and its location is stunning. Easy to find, parking for both cars and easily accessible steps down to the property.

The first thing we all did after entering was to admire the beautiful Sennen Cove from the lounge and dining room windows, whilst at the same time trying to take in how nicely presented the apartment is. Too much all at once but in a good way!

We found everything exactly as the apartment description and contact with the owners Guy and Meg throughout the booking phase to arrival day was perfect.

We only had a week here, but so wish we had more. It's never easy to get your grown up family together in one place at one time, but efforts were well worth it and the memories cherished.

Hope we will get the chance to come back. We all enjoyed ourselves so much.

Highly recommended and thank you!

Great memories of a lovely stay

  • 5 of 5

A glorious place to enjoy the company of friends/family. A short walk to the beach (and pub); we also enjoyed spectacular views at all times of day from both the comfort of the living room and also the huge dining room table. On a beautiful Autumnal day we walked from Cape Cornwall back to Sennen Cove along a stunning coastal path (3 hours) and then sipped a beer on the outside terrace overlooking the beach at Sennen Cove. The owners are lovely and take great care to make sure that everything is looked after well so that we could have a trouble-free stay. We want to go back very soon!!

A Must!!

  • 5 of 5

I have stayed at this apartment on many occasions and cannot reccommend it highly enough. I myself am disabled and do struggle with the steep outside steps but I beleive the effort is well worth it!! The apartment is spacious, comfortable, clean and well equiped with everything you would need. It is more like a home from home with the little extras like nice art work in all the rooms. The views are spectacular what ever the weather (a thunder and lightning storm has to be seen!!). If you like swimming, surfing and walking it is an ideal base. However if you love painting, photography or just want to chill and read a book, this is a lovely quiet place to relax. The food in the local pub (Old Success) and restaurant (Beach) is very good as is the local beer (Propper Job and Tribute). However having a meal at home in the dining room with a view to die for is my personal favorite, oh and an early breakfast, looking out on a new dawn is also a wonderful start to the day. I could go on and on as you might have noticed!!

Location

From the Owner

There is nothing to compare with the wonderful beauty of West Penwith, the stunning coastline, the endlessly changing seascape, the agelessness of the granite cliffs and the incredible sunsets. Perched above Sennen Cove Beaches has unrivalled views of it all and just a quick walk down to the cove and the beach. Just keep following the A30 and you end up at Sennen. No need for a satnav until perhaps the last mile.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Beaches is just a 5 minute walk to the small harbour beach and the lifeboat station and another few minutes along to the wide sandy expanse of Whitesands bay, a favourite spot for surfers.

Travel:

The A30 runs through Sennen to Lands End. The nearest railway station is Penzance, about 20 minutes by car.

There is a good local bus service.

Distances:

Lands End is a 20 minute walk along the coast path. For the more energetic the walk can continue on past Nanjizal, Porthgwarra and Porth Chapel to Porthcurno and the Minack cliffside theatre (about 5 miles).

In the other direction the coast path leads via Gwenvor beach to Cape Cornwall.

Further Details:

There is a shop in the cove selling a wide variety of food, beach items and other goods, The Old Success hotel, bar and restaurant, a cafe, fish and chip shop, surf shop and The Beach Restaurant which is an excellent restaurant and cafe.
