The property is on the top 2 floors of a traditional Stone built chalet. Recently refurbished to a high standard, keeping all the traditional features of what is over a 100 year old building.

Chalet Tam is a beautifully refurbished traditional chalet located very close to Morzine town centre, which is only a few minutes walk away. It benefits from an incredibly spacious living area, with plenty of space for any group to use the room for both watching TV or sitting quietly reading a book. Many of the original features have remained in it's stylish refurbishment, including many original beams and the large original wooden sliding doors that show how the building would have been used a 100 years ago, housing animals in what would have been the wooden barn area in the cold winter months when the family would live in the downstairs stone built section. It really is a beautiful setting to enjoy your time in the Alps whether it be in the Winter months snuggled up with a fire or in the summer with the balcony doors open. The closest Supermarket is less than a 2 minute walk and the Super Morzine lift is an easy walk along a flat road (approx 800m). The free ski bus stops just a few metres from the building if you don't fancy the walk. Also accessible on foot is all the bars, shops and Restaurants Morzine has to offer. The nearest of which being a 1 minute walk away. The apartment has a huge garage to store skis, boots and bikes securely.

The second apartment (Apt Etoile) can be rented either seperately or along with the larger chalet Tam. Apt Etoile has two Bedrooms. One twin and one triple bunk room (3 beds), there is a good size kitchen diner and a large shower room with washing machine and tumble dryer and a WC. The lounge is very spacious and has ample seating to watch the TV or just relax after a day on the mountain.

Special interest holidays:

Morzine offers a number of other activities outside and during the Winter ski season. It is a ideal centre for Mountain and Road Biking, Hiking, climbing, rafting, canyoning, yoga and also swimming.

Coast/Beach:

Lake Geneva is easily accessable by car from Morzine (40 minutes by car). Thonon Les Bains is the nearest point to access the lake with its various beaches and water front promenades.

Travel:

1hr 15 minutes from Geneva airport.

Further Details:

A great place to explore the alps whether it be on foot, skis or bike! There are a number of activities to enjoy in and around Morzine. There is a massive marked trail hiking area for any level of walking, lift assisted mountain strolls or more challenging ridge lines with fixed chains and scrambling for the more adventurous. Other activities include whitewater rafting, canyoning and of course the lift system is also open to mountain bikes in the summer where it be marked downhill courses or cross country adventures that suit. It is also a fantastic base for road bikes with its close proximity to some of the most famous alpine cols.

Notes on accommodation: The property has a bright and airy open plan lounge dining and kitchen area with stairs lead to the mezzanine with a double bed and separate bunk area. there is also a sofa bed in the lounge. There is a spacious shower room and separate wc. A patio door in the lounge area gives access to a private balcony. Outside: Both units have access onto private balconies.

Hidden gem in Morzine

The first thing is it looks like the pictures and is beautifully furnished with loads of space downstairs . The bedrooms are actually better than the photos , particularly the doubles . The bunk room whilst sleeping 4 is quite a tight fit but is fine for 2 teenagers and smaller kids would be even better. There is a huge garage so if you have bikes or ski gear , wet stuff it can all go in there as soon as you walk through the entrance door , keeping the chalet clean. There's a sauna which we didn't use but I bet it's great in the winter .

Morzine accommodation is built for the winter so this is no exception , the balcony allows some outside space but you can't sunbathe ! This is just as well as there is loads to do , both ski lifts are open ( nearest is 5 mins walk) taking you up the mountain to either mountain bike or walk. We did rafting, canyoning, paragliding , rock climbing which is all within 30mins of the resort.

You can walk everywhere from this chalet, less than 5 mins to supermarket, restaurants , 10 mins to get right into town where there is plenty of choice . You can also take a car park lift down to the swimming pool/ ice skating rink which is next to the nearest ski lift, or walk down a small path to the river which takes you to lots of walks, horse riding .

The only downside is the heat, the bedrooms are in the eaves of the chalet and the room with the skylight in particular gets very warm so sleeping was a challenge but if you go in the winter you won't care !

Some other tips, there are no wardrobes only hooks with hangers but lots of drawer space, the shower bathroom is downstairs ( bath upstairs) , the staircase is wooden & very open ( and squeaky!) so I wouldn't have wanted toddlers in there , also the dining room table is a beautiful piece of wood with a glass top and sharp edges, I walked into it so I know ! Again not great for little people .

We had a great and very comfortable week there and I would be very happy to go back !

Lovely Chalet with a real Alpine feel.

We were delighted with our stay. The chalet has a lovely alpine feel and is extremely comfortable and quiet. The decor is of a very high standard. The town is a ten minute stroll away and there are plenty of restaurants and shops. Although it was beginning of season and there was limited snow we were able to ski at Avoiraz and there was a free bus from the town to the Prodain lift.

Fantastic Chalet in great location

We stayed in Chalet Tam early in March.

Chalet Tam is a very high quality Chalet and has been furnished beautifully. The layout is lovely and the Chalet is very well equipped.

It is in a very good location on a quiet road but only a couple of minutes walk to a good size supermarket and nice restaurants.

There is an easy walk (about 5-10 minutes) to the Supermorzine lift.

I would recommend this Chalet and would definitely stay again.
