Beautiful character cottage

  • 5 of 5

Words cannot describe but this is a beautiful spot 5.6 miles into the countryside of Ludlow. A wonderful cottage with everything you could need or want for an amazing breakaway in the country. A welcome pack on arrival so you have tea/coffee/sugar/milk and a fruitcake so you have an essential for your arrival before you go for a shop.

Beds that are incredible like sleeping on a cloud - hard to get out of in the morning I can tell you. The wood burner fire so nice to set up and enjoy at night. The peaceful surroundings such a joy plus only steps away from walking paths to enjoy as well.

We look forward to returning again to such an amazing place. You won't be disappointed here. By the way WIFI is spasmodic due to being in the country so put down your phone and enjoy the area.

Peaceful, beautiful location

  • 5 of 5

Nice countryside area, the cottage was very nice decorations lots of books and antiques, the kitchen had plenty of dishes, rooms were clean and spacious.

We were there in Early June and we wanted to experience real English life I think we pick a perfect location. There's two towns Ludlow and Craven Arms near by just make sure you go early because everything close around 5:30 6:00pm, we drove to diferent places and just enjoed every minute.

We hope to go back without the kids in winter time to take advantage of the fireplace and just stay there and enjoy ourselves ;)

Owners were very helpful and nice.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: The cottage is cosy whatever the weather, it is well insulated and has central heating throughout and a wood-burning stove in the main sitting room. The whole cottage was refurbished in 2013/14 with new kitchen and bathrooms and extra lighting. The decoration is to the highest standards, using natural paints. The cottage has been furnished as if it is the owner’s own home with fresh flowers, comfortable beds, lovely pictures and antiques. Outside: The cottage is approached through a set of gates at the end of country lane, it has a large private courtyard with ample parking. The courtyard has gates making it secure if you have well behaved dogs in your party. Outside there is a large barn for storage which would be an ideal place to keep bikes. The patio area can host barbecues and high tea in the summer months. The backdrop to the courtyard is a large Georgian listed stable block. The views are fantastic and the location is very peaceful, often the only sound is birdsong. The garden are well presented and fragrant with Roses, Cosmos and Hollyhocks. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Beds are made up with Egyptian cotton sheets and the towels are soft and fluffy. There is an option of a mid-week clean and linen change at an extra charge. Other: The second floor opens from the stairs into a second sitting or reading room with fantastic views over surrounding countryside. There is a sofa, a comfy armchair and we can provide a camp bed and/or cot with all bedding.
