PISO FELIZ - our superb 1st floor, 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment on Roda Golf Resort is beautifully furnished with lots of little extras to make you feel at home. Not only is it great for golf, it's great for kids and great for just relaxing. Everything you need for a fantastic holiday.

The apartment is located on Phase 3B, overlooking the 1st green. It is also within a few minutes drive of Los Alcazares and the Mar Menor beaches, which are gently shelving and really safe for kids. The stylishly furnished apartment has full air conditioning, full central heating and electric security grills. There's a big, southerly facing terrace where you can relax in the sun or shade all day. Dine dine Al fresco for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner or just relax with a glass of wine.

Our apartment has so much more than you might expect to make your holiday enjoyable. There are 2 sunbeds, 2 garden chairs, 2 lilos and other inflatables for the pool. Plus buckets and spades for the young ones to take to the beach.

There's a visitors guide in the apartment so you can see what's available in the area - including a guide to the beaches, water parks, golf courses and entertainment in Los Alcazares and the Murcia area.

On arrival you will be met at the apartment by Mike and Bev, who will show you round, make sure you know where everything is to ensure you settle in quickly.

We are based in Spain and only a short drive away so if you have any problems whilst you are in our apartment we will try to sort things out over the phone or come to the apartment where that isn't possible.

RODA GOLF RESORT:

Roda Golf is now a PGA Academy and lessons are available for children as well as adults. The course is becoming increasing popular with both professionals and amateurs alike. It has hosted many tournaments including a round of the PGA Championships, with competing golfers from all over Europe, and the Spanish Junior Open. In addition, the driving range and practice putting green are both proving to be great attractions.

ABOUT THE MAR MENOR AREA

Roda Golf and Beech Resort is not just for the golfer ................

Located on the Costa Calida, next to the Mediterranean Sea, Roda is just 2 km from Los Alcázares and the Mar Menor.

The promenade and beach stretches for 7 km and the local blue-flag beaches are fantastic having won the Q awards for excellence & safety.

Dotted with "chiringuitos" where you can have tapas to keep you going throughout the day. The water temperature is much higher than the surrounding Mediterranean and is warm enough to swim even in Spring! The gently shelving beaches make it safe for kids.

The waters of the Mar Menor are renowned for their healing properties and the water temperature is warm enough to swim even in early Spring!

DO I NEED A CAR?

YES - this apartment is on Phase 3 of the resort and we advise that a car should be hired.

Los Alcazares centre is a 4 km walk from the apartment and it will make all the difference if you want to play at other courses or see the beautiful scenery around the Mar Menor.

About Bev & Mike Pomfret

Bev worked for over 30 years in the Financial Sector managing major IT Projects.

Mike was a marketing manager for a leading glassware company.

Married for over 40 years, we sailed the Irish Sea and the Mediterranean in our yacht for 14 years but now only sail occasionally as more sedate pursuits beckon - so we play bridge.

Originally from Manchester, we bought a house in a small Spanish village to retire to. However, it's old! So we are constantly working on lots of 'reformas' to make it into a place where we can relax and enjoy our retirement.

Our great friends, B&D, actually own this apartment, but we look after it for them. We are responsible for your holiday right through from booking to caring for you whilst you are here.

Why Bev & Mike Pomfret chose San Javier

B&D bought the apartment at Roda because of it's closeness to the Costa Calida and the Mar Menor. It's a fantastic place to holiday with it's superb beaches, historic cities to visit . . . not to mention the golf.

Bobby loves his golf and says Roda is the best course in the area.

Roda Golf is a fully accredited PGA golf course - with driving range, putting green and lessons available for both adults and children.

BUT . . . you don't have to be golfers to enjoy Roda. Mike & Bev aren't as we bought the apartment on Roda for the luxury, and the peace and quiet.

It's close to San Javier airport - so just a 10 minute taxi ride will see you in the apartment. BUT it's not under the flightpath so you won't be disturbed by the noise.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment at Roda Golf was bought as B&Ds holiday home, so because of this, it has lots of stuff in that you wouldn't normally find in a rental apartment.

Good pans, good knives, lots of crockery, cutlery and glasses. A large fridge - 'cos that's what you'll need to stock all the great fruit and veg from the area and lots to drink for the kids. You'll find inflatables for the pool, sunbeds for the garden, plus buckets & spades and chairs to take down to the beach.

The Costa Calida and the Mar Menor is a fantastic place to holiday with it's fantastic beaches, historic cities to visit . . . not to mention the golf.

Notes:
The apartment is suitable for small children - it's on the first floor so safer than ground floor apartments. There are window locks and shutters for extra security too. Large double-width balcony where you can relax in the sun or shade all day. Start the day with breakfast or dine al fresco in the evening. It's the ideal place to put your feet up, read a good book, or have a glass of wine (or two)! The apartment is on Phase 3 so car hire is essential to get out and about. Although it is within a few minutes drive of Los Alcazares and the Mar Menor beaches, which are gently shelving and really safe for kids. IT'S OUR HOLIDAY HOME TOO so we've added lots of things that you wouldn't normally expect to find in a holiday let. We have even put in Safety equipment including Smoke Detector, and Carbon Monoxide Detector. Onsite, there are 3 pools to use with fantastic gardens around them and there are plenty of playgrounds to keep the kids happy • The Club house has both indoor and outdoor bar areas and restaurants with live entertainment during the Summer months • Sports area with tennis court, 2 glass enclosed padel tennis courts, basketball courts, 5-a-side court.

Another great holiday in Roda

I think this is our seventh stay in the Roda area and our 5th at this apartment which speaks for itself. Great location, lovely comfortable apartment with pool and grounds, close to very safe beaches at the Mar Menor for the kids plus all amenities, shops, supermarkets, local bars and restaurants, loads of choice. Great road links to the Murcia region and surrounding towns such as Cartagena which is well worth a visit.

Must mention our hosts as well because Bev and Mike are very friendly and have made my stay easy with the kids and on hand for any advice. Many happy times and memories with the kids here in Roda and thanks to Bev and Mike.

Comfortable relaxing apartment in the sun

The aparment was as described and met all our expectations. It was well equipped, clean and comfortable; everything we expected and needed for a relaxing holiday.

The only sight draw back was the distance within the resort to the aparment; but not a big issue as a car was needed anyway.

Bev & Mike were totally professional as well as warm, helpful and welcoming too.

Overall a pleasure to deal with them and a pleasure to stay there. Having stayed in various resorts and apartments in the region this goes top of our list :-)

Price fit Quality

It is a nice size, clean and well-supplied apartment where the price fits the quality.

Both golf course and restaurant works fine, but you must drive by car around the whole settlement to get there (approximate 10 min.).

The apartment os located very close to the Motorway wherefrom there are quite a lot of noise.

Friendly host people and a good food welcome pack.

Owner's Response: Lotte - many thanks for your review of our apartment. The apartment is located on Phase 3 of the resort which is far less crowed that the other phases which make it easier to relax round the pool in the beautiful gardens. We always advise guests to hire a car to get around the resort and the local area and to get out and about to see some of the historic cities like Cartagena and Murcia. Noise from the motorway is not something we notice. We have been renting our apartment since 2008 and no other guests have mentioned it.

Quite place for a family stay

Home atmosphere in this apartment will relax you from the first second. Fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, balcony - all as it was stated. Quiet place away from golf course. You definitely will need a car to stay there. There were small issue with equipment but all was solved by the owners in a timely manner. 10 minutes to the beach and supermarkets by car. LOS NAREJOS

The nearest beach at Los Narejos is just 2 km from the resort. Gently shelving and really safe for kids. Apart from the height of Summer, the beach is usually quiet and is my personal favourite. The beach bars serve reasonably priced tapas, snacks and burgers. Start from here to walk the promenade all the way to the Yacht Club at the other end of Los Alcazares.

SANTIAGO DE LA RIBERA

The fishing village of Santiago de la Ribera is just 10 minutes drive away. It grew as a prime holiday destination for wealthy Murcians who built their houses along the coast. Santiago has a lovely promenade flanked by attractive palm trees. Today Santiago is still popular with the Spanish for their vacations but also attracts tourists from all over Europe and although it has a modern air, it has still maintained its ‘fishing village’ atmosphere. It has a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants.

Santiago de la Ribera boasts a popular water-sports centre and sailing club so with it's superb safe beaches, sailing, water skiing, boat hire, wind surfing, fishing, cycling, a sports centre, and scuba diving ..... It's a great place to visit.

LO PAGAN

Lo Pagan, near San Pedro del Pinatar, is a 20 minute drive and a visit is a must to take in the famous mud baths which has been renowned from early times for its healing powers. Get dirty ... by applying the mud all over the body and then dry out in the sun before washing off in the salt waters. The kids will love it!

CARTAGENA & MURCIA

Travel further afield to see the roman ruins at Cartagena or the fabulous archirecture and churches in Murca city

AIR CONDITIONING:
Sadly, due to severe abuse in the past, we have reluctantly had to installed a meter linked to the air conditioning system only.
(All other electricity and utility costs are covered by the rental charges)
We include a complimentary 100 units per week – so approximately 5-6 hours usage per day.
Extra usage is charged at 25 cents (20p) per unit and is payable on departure.

CHANGEOVER DAY:
Flexible changeover day. The property is available between17:00 and 24:00 hours on arrival and should be vacated by 12:00 hours on the day of departure (local time). Arrival outside these times is must be agreed prior to booking. Please not there is a charge for arrivals after 22:00
