Piso Pomsol - Luxury apartment in Roda Golf and Beach Resort, Los Alcázares, Costa Calida/Murcia - Not only is it great for golf, it's great for kids and great for just relaxing.

Our luxurious 2-bed, 2-bath apartment on Roda Golf and Beach Resort is beautifully furnished with lots of little extras to make you feel at home. Not only is it great for golf, it's great for kids and great for just relaxing. Everything you need for a fantastic holiday.

The apartment in on the 1st floor and located on Phase 2 so within easy walking distance of the golf course and club house. It is also within a few minutes drive of Los Alcazares and the Mar Menor beaches, which are gently shelving and really safe for kids. The stylishly furnished apartment has full air conditioning, full central heating and electric security grills. There's a HUGE, south facing balcony where you can relax in the sun or shade all day. Dine dine Al fresco for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner or just relax with a glass of wine.

Wi-Fi now available in the apartment (optional extra). Free Wi-Fi available in the clubhouse and in many bars in Los Alcazares


Our apartment has so much more than you might expect to make your holiday enjoyable. There are 2 sunbeds, 2 garden chairs, 2 beach chairs, 2 lilos and other inflatables for the pool. Plus a sun umbrella and buckets and spades for the young ones to take to the beach.

There's a visitors guide in the apartment so you can see what's available in the area - including a guide to the beaches, water parks, golf courses and entertainment in Los Alcazares and the Murcia area.

On arrival you will be met at the apartment by Mike and Bev the owners, who will show you round, make sure you know where everything is to ensure you settle in quickly.

We are based in Spain and only a short drive away so if you have any problems whilst you are in our apartment we will try to sort things out over the phone or come to the apartment where that isn't possible.

PLEASE NOTE: the 5th person is accommodated in the lounge on a single sofa-bed which is only suitable for children and small adults.


Roda Golf is now a PGA Academy and lessons are available for children as well as adults. The course is becoming increasing popular with both professionals and amateurs alike. It has hosted many tournaments including a round of the PGA Championships, with competing golfers from all over Europe, and the Spanish Junior Open. In addition, the driving range and practice putting green are both proving to be great attractions.


Roda Golf and Beech Resort is not just for the golfer ................

Located on the Costa Calida, next to the Mediterranean Sea, Roda is just 2 km from Los Alcázares and the Mar Menor.

The promenade and beach stretches for 7 km and the local blue-flag beaches are fantastic having won the Q awards for excellence & safety.

Dotted with "chiringuitos" where you can have tapas to keep you going throughout the day. The water temperature is much higher than the surrounding Mediterranean and is warm enough to swim even in Spring! The gently shelving beaches make it safe for kids.

The waters of the Mar Menor are renowned for their healing properties and the water temperature is warm enough to swim even in early Spring!

The setting of the Costa Calida and Mar Menor is truly incredible. With more than 253 Km of Mediterranean beach, around 320 days of sunshine per year enjoying annual average temperatures of around 21 ºC, the Costa Calida is the perfect holiday place for a relaxing break all year round.

The Costa Calida is the ideal spot to enjoy your holiday with all the cultural and biological richness of the region of Murcia. It is also one of the most important spots in the world for sports lovers, offering various water sports including swimming, sailing, scuba diving and water skiing, as well as activities such as tennis, trekking or golf.

About Bev & Mike Pomfret

Bev worked for over 30 years in the Financial Sector managing major IT Projects.

Mike was a marketing manager for a leading glassware company.

Married for 40 years, we sailed the Irish Sea and the Mediterranean in our yacht for 14 years but now only sail occasionally as more sedate pursuits beckon - so we play bridge.

Originally from Manchester, we bought an house in Spain to retire to which is located in a small Spanish village. However, it's old! So we are constantly working on lots of 'reformas' to make it into a place where we can relax and enjoy in our retirement.

Why Bev & Mike Pomfret chose Cartagena & Mar Menor

We bought our apartment at Roda because of it's closeness to the Costa Calida and the Mar Menor. It's a fantastic place to holiday with it's superb beaches, historic cities to visit . . . not to mention the golf.

Roda Golf is a fully accredited PGA golf course - with driving range, putting green and lessons available for both adults and children.

BUT . . .

We are NOT golfers but bought it for the luxury and location so are living proof that you don't have to play golf to enjoy Roda.

It's close to San Javier airport - so just a 10 minute taxi ride will see you in the apartment. BUT it's not under the flightpath so you won't be disturbed by the noise.

What makes this apartment unique

The apartment at Roda Golf was bought as our holiday home, so because of this, it has lots of stuff in that you wouldn't normally find in a rental apartment. Good pans, good knives, lots of crockery, cutlery and glasses. A large fridge - 'cos thats what you'll need to stock all the great fruit and veg from the area and lots to drink for the kids. You'll find inflatables for the pool, sunbeds and chairs for the garden, plus buckets & spades and chairs to take down to the beach.

There are duvets but also the option of blankets for the Spring and Autumn when you don't quite need such warmth. Plus fans in both bedrooms as, if you're like us, we don't like to sleep with air-con on overnight. . . . .

We hope you'll love apartment as much as we do.

This apartment has everything you need for your holiday and is in a lovely place.

The owners are great and always there to help and the place is so clean.

l spent a week here wish it had been for longer but you do need a car to get about unless you like walking and great if you play golf which has a fantastic course.

Lovely clean, spacious apartment. Really well equipped with a welcome pack which is a lovely touch. The pool area is lovely and generally quiet. A car is definitely recommended as there are lovely areas nearby to visit

Fantastic family break

Fantastic family break...close to the airport which meant the holiday started as soon as we got off the plane, great facilities in the complex and close to beaches etc. The apartment was exactly what we needed, everything catered for which made the day of arrival hassle free. Would definitely book again.

Beautiful,well equipped Apartment in lovely resort

We selected the apartment on the strength of the website, the price and the resort location. We were not disappointed, great apartment with excellent, professional service from the owners, Bev and Mike. We stayed for eight weeks between 17/05/2013 and 12/07/2013.

The first floor property is well located in Phase 2 of the development, within easy reach of the communal recycling. It's very close to the pool areas and has everything necessary for an enjoyable self-catering holiday, including washing machine, dishwasher and lift! The complimentary welcome pack is a really nice touch, especially when you arrive in the evening.

We were impressed by the condition and cleanliness of the property. Please note there is an additional charge for cleaning at the end of your stay.

Although the property doesn't have a safe, the very solid front door and the electronic shutters give the apartment a very secure feel. There are also regular patrols by the Security staff.

The resort has a mix of permanent residents and holidaymakers. Expect a little noise from the apartment above and the odd rooftop terrace party.

We didn't hire a car but there is a secure underground car parking space. Bikes were made available (deposit required) and were useful for exploring the resort and the local area.

The resort itself is well maintained with gardens and pool areas in excellent condition although the perimeter of the resort could use a little more attention. There are no communal sun beds but the apartments comes with sun beds, garden and beach chairs.

There is an on-site shop for basics and the Clubhouse is worth a visit, not least for the free wi-fi. We didn't play any golf so can't comment on the course. There is also a Gym which does monthly memberships.

There is a property management company on site where you can hire baby and sports equipment. It also has Internet and printing facilities.

The airport is at most a ten minute drive from the resort. As the flight path is mainly along the coastline, aircraft noise is not a problem. The Spanish ‘Red Arrows’ also train around the area.

The supermarkets, Consum and Lidl are the closest to the resort and are within walking (or cycling) distance. The shopping trolley in the apartment came in very handy.

The main area for restaurants and bars is slightly further on in the Av. Río Nalón area. It’s pedestrianized with a superb selection. Close by is Los Palmeras beach.

Very happy with our choice and would recommend.

After 8 weeks in our apartment you're probably the best qualified reviewer we're ever had! With regard to the gym, you can also pay by the class, the day or the week - so if you enjoy keeping fit there is no need to miss out whilst you are on holiday. Hope to see you both back again in 2014 - you never know we might even have Wi-Fi as it is something we are looking into.

Excellently equipped apartment

We received excellent service from the booking of our holiday with Bev and Mike to the departure. They gave us a warm welcome on arrival to their holiday apartment. The apartment in set in well kept surroundings. Bev and Mike have the apartment set up as a home from home, with an added bonus of a welcome pack. It has a secure garage parking space, which is also an added bonus. The apartment was situated close to the airport but not in the flight path so was lovely and quiet, and is close to the lovely sheltered beaches of the Mar Menor. The apartment was lovely and clean with the added benefits of two bathrooms and spacious living area. Bev and Mike have put extra thought into the guests stay by providing beach equipment, cool bags for day trips and beach towels, so that we were able to enjoy our two week break with hand luggage only. The Golf Clubhouse is really lovely, and we enjoyed a lovely meal in their roof terrace restaurant. We would love to return and would definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Extra usage is charged at 25 cents (20p) per unit and is payable on departure.

Flexible changeover day. The property is available between 17:00 and 24:00 hours and should be vacated by 12:00 hours on the day of departure (local time). Arrival/departure outside these times must be agreed prior to booking.

Discounts are available for stays of three weeks or more, and for last minute booking. Please contact us for details.

The apartment is really suitable for small children - it's on the first floor and has a full, solid wall making it safer than ground floor apartments. There are window locks and shutters for extra security too. Huge double balcony where you can relax in the sun or shade all day. Start the day with breakfast at out large teak table or dine dine al fresco in the evening. It's the ideal place to put your feet up, read a good book, or have a glass of wine (or two) ! The apartment is on Phase 2 and within easy walking distance of the golf course and club house. It is also within a few minutes drive of Los Alcazares and the Mar Menor beaches, which are gently shelving and really safe for kids. IT'S OUR HOLIDAY HOME TOO so we've added lots of things that you wouldn't normally expect to find in a holiday let. We have even put in Safety equipment including First Aid Kit, Fire Blanket, Smoke Detector, and Carbon Monoxide Detector. Onsite, there are 3 pools to use with fantastic gardens around them and there are plenty of playgrounds to keep the kids happy • The Club house and golf course are just a few minutes walk • The Club house has both indoor and outdoor bar areas and restaurants with live entertainment during the Summer months • Sports area with tennis court, 2 glass enclosed paddle tennis courts, basketball courts, 5-a-side court PLEASE NOTE: the 5th person is accommodated in the lounge on a single sofa-bed which is only suitable for children and small adults.
