Perfect house and location!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from an amazing stay in Salcombe. The house is in a perfect location on a quiet road within a short walk to the shops and pubs. Really nicely furnished and a great layout makes it a lovely sociable house. Pippa is a great communicator and everything exceeded our expectations! We will definitely be returning. Can't recommend it enough!

Trebor, a home from home

  • 5 of 5

Trebor is utterly amazing. We were a party of 3 couples with 2 children and a tiny baby. We can't be more positive about the facilities, the decor, the cleanliness, the attention to detail at Trebor...it is utterly amazing, quiet and terribly good value. It is also very comfortable and has 2 sitting rooms, so the children could use the front sitting room while the adults made late supper and relaxed. The dinning table is enormous, great for a lovely catch up. The facilities for young children including the stair gates, high chairs, travel cots were added features. It is an quick easy walk to the hustle and bustle of salcombe and far enough away not to be interrupted by late revellers in the centre! We loved its location as we were able to squeeze park 2 cars on the drive and then park another free up the hill. We can't wait to return, thankyou Pippa and Craig for allowing us to have such a comfortable break. Pippa is also an amazing communicator, every eventuality was covered. The island grill, 4 minutes walk away is the best burger joint suitable for fussy children in salcombe. Beware of the overpriced food elsewhere, take recommendations! I give Trebor 10 out of 10! just to say it would also suit a group of friends without children with the outside bbq and lovely garden space.

Salcombe excellent weekend break

  • 5 of 5

If you are hestiating about booking this property don't. Go for it and you wont be disappointed. I recieved excellent customer service from Pippa and Craig and the decription proved very accurate as did the photograhs. Lots of information, instructions and recommendations including great places to eat.

The accomodation was very well maintained, well stocked and very clean.

The kitchen extention and garden made our stay. The weather was kind so we were able to take advantage of the outdoor space where we had breakfast and lunch. The large table inthe kitchen/diner enabled our chef to cook and still be part of the conversation.

Dick and Wills was an excellent choice for our Saturday evening meal. We ate early and found the service very attentive which we observed continued even when the resturant started to fill up. They were very accomodating when we wanted to choice a specifc table and catered for our dietary requirements more than adequately. This restaurant is great just for coffee on the terrace at lunch time as the view out on the estuary was mesmerising.

Salcombe is a brilliant location if you like to sail, fish or just like the water or shop!!!

The Victoria Inn was over priced for the lunch time meal we had which was a very small fish platter which was really only a starter portion but main meal price of £9.00.

i would recommend this acomodation for families as well as groups of friend and relatives .

Salcombe is a wonderful town but it is very hilly which needs to be taken into account if your mobility is poor.

The Winking Prawn was worth a visit for its fish platter and the sea views

We liked the fact that there were still local shops to buy food i.e butcher baker, deli rather than supermarkets. I would suggest you do a food shop or get a delivery for when you arrive as this just makes the trip less of a chore.

Location

From the Owner

We adore Salcombe as it is to us the most beautiful place in the world. We bought Trebor in 2006 and spent a year gutting and renovating the house completely. We try to go to Salcombe as often as we can, our 2 daughters love Trebor as much as we do and cry whenever we leave!

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The house has glimpses of the Estuary and is a five minute walk from Batson Boat park.

Travel:

Exeter airport is approx 1 hour away.

Nearest train station is Totnes which is 50 mins away.

Further Details:

Salcombe is Devon's most southerly town. This picturesque holiday resort with its mild climate and sheltered waterways is a splendid sight during the summer months.

Surrounded by picturesque villages, stunning coastal scenery and beautiful beaches, Salcombe is the perfect holiday destination for all age groups.

The gentle, emerald green slopes of the South Hams hills form a spectacular backdrop to the crescent shaped estuary, which is brought spectacularly to life by the myriad of white sails that wind their way too and fro across it.

Pockets of golden sand form sheltered coves around the periphery - perfect for family days on the beach.

Salcombe has something for everyone; beaches, watersports, coastal walking, tiny side streets with varied shops and a wide choice of restaurants and public houses.
