About Christina Leonard

Myself and my husband have been letting our two self catering holiday cottages for over 25 years. We enjoy meeting people coming to stay with us and helping them to enjoy their holiday. The cottages are within our 45 acre beef farm, on which we have numerous farm birds, chicken, ducks, peacocks and wild pheasants. Frequently I have children from the holiday cottages watching me with the poultry in the morning and helping to collect eggs!

We live in the farmhouse near the cottages and are on hand if you have any enquiries during your stay. The position of the cottages is completely separate from the farmhouse and allows for complete privacy.

We enjoy seeing guests using the swimming pool and making the most of the gardens and play areas.

Christina Leonard purchased this cottage in 1980

Why Christina Leonard chose Torridge

These cottages were converted by ourselves from barns. In fact Millers cottage did used to be the Mill house for the local area and still has the original Mill stone laid in the gardens.

What makes this cottage unique

The cottages are peacefully located in the countryside allowing you to completely relax and unwind. There are lush, mature gardens for you to enjoy, the swimming pool, which you have your own key for access at your own convenience. The cottages are situated only a short drive to numerous tourist attractions, adventure parks, beautiful golden beaches, ideal for surfing. There are also numerous countryside and coastal walks in the North Devon area that guests often undertake. There are riding stables, close by and golf courses a short drive from the cottages. Being close to the cornish border, you could drive to some cornish beauty spots or places of interest, such as the Eden project.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Millers cottage - The cottage was perfect for us. The kids had a ball and we all really enjoyed ourselves. The owners were delightful and very friendly with out being intrusive. A very good location for exploring all along the Devon/north Cornwall coastline. The pool was great too, very warm, but the deep end is very deep so careful with little ones. Lots of lovely birds to watch too we were delighted to see Jays and nuthatch among others along with a rather cheeky squirrel that tried to pinch their food. (14 June 2014).

Millers cottage - A lovely cottage that was exactly what we were after. The excellent facilities provided for children (climbing frame, slide, trampoline, tractor) were excellent for our little one and the inclusion of the heated indoor pool was brilliant. Highly recommended :o) (12 April 2014).

Lovely place - amazing value!

What a find! Amazing value for money. Could not keep the children out of the heated pool in the back garden and Christina and her husband were great hosts. A great base for exploring North Devon. Book now - you won't be disappointed.

Had so much to offer. Animals, swimming pool, homely accommodation and enclosed garden for the dog.

  • 5 of 5

Home made scones on the welcome tray. Milk in the fridge. A thorough walk through with the owner on arrival was very helpful. The pool was warm and the children enjoyed the games room too. The peacocks were gorgeous and seeing the heron was a bonus.

The wet room was fabulous and everything was very clean through out the cottage. The kitchen had everything (Prehaps too much, as no space for food). Ideally located with village shop up the road and Bideford just 20 minutes drive. The beach at Westward Ho! Was perfect for the children and dog.

The owners have thought of everything and were very happy to show the children the animals. Very comfortable accommodation in a lovely setting, we would love to come back.

Well mantained, very cleaned and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We had a very good Easter break and the house was home from home. The house is comfortable and cosy with all the necessities in the kitchen if you choose to cook. There is a well mantained swimming pool which was a great bonus which we really enjoyed.

Would definetely return there again and would 100% recomend it.
