A wonderful place to relax and chill out

  • 5 of 5

Basically I would totally endorse what Brian P says in his review of September this year. My wife and I had a wonderfully relaxing stay with Anne and Richard. You may only be 40 minutes away from Estepona but you are a world away from the hustle and bustle of the Costas. If you plan to travel around a lot and visit places the location is not ideal, as the drive out to the main road network is tortuous, but for those who just want to chill in a beautiful location, out the property is perfect.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your kind review, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay and for sure the mountain roads are not for everybody, although the dramatic scenery is popular with many cyclists, motor cyclists and tourists they are not everyone's cup of tea. Thank you again for your kind review we would be happy to see you again in the future when you just need to chill out and take in the beautiful location.

A little bit of Heaven on Earth

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a retreat - a place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life - this is the place for you. The cottage is set high in the mountains, and the only sounds are the goat bells and bird song. Sit outside in the warmth at night and listen to the owls hooting, as you wait for the moon to rise above the mountain. It's magical. Drive into Estepona for fresh fish, then come back and pick lemons to complement it. Help yourself to an avocado for a nice starter, maybe some grapes for your breakfast. Richard and Anne insist that you help yourself to anything growing in the garden. Can't get any fresher than that! Spend lots of time at the pool, the view of the valley is even more beautiful. Richard and Anne have created a haven of peace and tranquillity for themselves and their guests. They are always on hand to answer any questions and give advice, but are also discreet. They have three gorgeous, friendly dogs who just add to the overall experience. We haven't a single negative comment to make about this cottage. Once again, if you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is the place for you. Highly recommended.

Beautiful!

  • 5 of 5

This is a very nice property in a beautiful part of Spain. Anne and Richard live on site and are extremely helpful without being intrusive. If you are looking for a very quiet, relaxing holiday in a beautiful area then this is perfect. It is a rural location and you will need a car. The nearest village, Genalguacil, is lovely and Estepona is a 45 minute drive. It is a mountain route. We can also recommend a 2 bed, 2 bath property Anne and Richard have just finished next to the 1 bed cottage.

A tranquil, lovely retreat

  • 5 of 5

We were looking for much-needed peace and privacy and we found it here. We have loved staying in this pleasant property which is situated in a beautiful, sparsely populated area of Spain. The facilities in the cottage were excellent - everything you'd need during your visit. The property is very well maintained by owners, Anne and Richard who live on site and are there to offer friendly, helpful advice if needed but they're not in any way intrusive. The pool is fantastic - great for swimming with excellent views of the mountains so you can relax with the gentle sound of goats' bells in the distance. We enjoyed picking lemons, figs and avocados from the trees to eat. Ronda is worth a visit, as is Estepona which has a lovely old section with restaurants and cafes as well as useful supermarkets. Genalguacil is a short drive away and is a pretty old village with a couple of bars/restaurants. We would (and have!) recommended this property to others who are looking for a tranquil 'getaway' holiday.

Blissfully peaceful part of Spain

  • 5 of 5

My fiance and I stayed here for a week in mid July. The farm is nestled in amongst woodland, with a spectacular view down the valley. Extremely peaceful and relaxing. Although we were just off the road, there was very little traffic noise. We spent half the week chilling out, reading and swimming in the beautiful pool (which we estimated to be around 6 foot deep) and the rest of the time on gentle day trips to Guadalguacil, Ronda and Estapona, all within driving distance. The nearby village, Guadalguacil, is about 10 minutes away by car and is a joy to visit, being an unspoilt Spanish village in a spectacular location. Don't expect to get anywhere in a hurry - the mountain roads are winding and require careful driving - but do expect stunning scenery and a taste of real Spain.

Our comfortable cottage had everything we needed and is very charmingly decorating in the Spanish style with a very comfortable double bed and a mezzanine 'platform' above which we didn't use but which would be a fun sleeping area for children or another couple. A small kitchen is supplemented by a second outdoor sink and the small shower room is clean and nicely fitted. There is a comfortable dining/living room with TV. Plenty of books to read (in different languages), good wi-fi access, and the view from the terrace is beautiful. The owners were friendly and helpful without being intrusive and were just putting the finishing touches to a second, bigger, holiday property - we had a tour and it, too, looked lovely with a particularly nice kitchen.

We would highly recommend staying here.

Peace and serenity in the mountains

  • 4 of 5

We have just spent 2 lovely weeks at this Finca. Anne and Richard are a charming couple and are there to offer any help or information. The Finca is ideal for a couple and the aspect is wonderful sitting amongst the mountains with the only sounds being the stream in the ravine and the goats passing. This is conducive to a very restful holiday which is what we were after. Thank you Anne and Richard for a very pleasant stay.
