Greatly enjoyed this charming Cottage and location.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed as a family of six (two friends of our two daughters joined us) children aged 11 to 14 enjoyed kayaking and paddle boarding on Carrick Roads, surfing on North coast, fantastic. Evenings spent in fabulous Carnation Cottage with every comfort necessary and more, or local pubs to experience local atmosphere, we will be back..

Really nice cottage in a fabulous, quiet spot, but in close proximity to Truro.

  • 4 of 5

It was nice to be greeted by Carolyn on our arrival to help us settle in. The cottage is well stocked with everything you need and well presented and clean. Overall we had a lovely week, it would have been helpful to have more information about the local area in the cottage, directions to the local ferry and recommended local beaches etc. Also, we struggled a little with the cooker as all the markings had rubbed off on the hob and so we couldn't work out where the "off" position was!! A great stay...

A gorgeous clean well equipped holiday cottage

  • 5 of 5

On our way down the owner Carolyn informed us about long delays and detours due to an accident and gave us excellent directions in to avoid long tail backs how brilliant was that.

Once we arrived at the holiday house it was so clean and well equipped it had everything and would highly recommend to anyone.

Penpol itself is a lovely little village very peaceful and very clean! The estuary walks were stunning and the pub at Devoran does excellent food.

The walk to Trelissick was nice and the ferry from there to either Truro Falmouth or St Mawes is well worth the money. All in all we really enjoyed our stay

Stones and shore

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful stone cottage, quirky features and stunning location. Plenty of rooms and washrooms for teenagers and adults, places to be together and apart. Storage for wetsuits, inflatables and pooch and every possible piece of kitchen equipment needed for a weeks holiday and more. The weather was glorious, the garden an excellent look out for contemplating activities, tides and generally watching the world go by. A very small world as the cottage is in an idyllic hamlet away from the madness of a UK seaside summer. Kayaking, swimming, crabbing and coffee drinking can all be started from the small slipway and green space beside the creek less than 100m from the cottage door.

We were welcomed by the owners and they were easily contactable if anything was needed. It wasn't as everything was already there.

It's a great place to run also, little roads, lovely sunken old bridle paths and stunning views if you prefer vertical running to horizontal. The local shop is a little over a mile away , easy to drive to and some good off road paths lead to it and beyond. A great stay with a chance to experience a perfect corner of Cornwall.
