About the property

Central location, two minutes walk to the main beach, shops, Yacht Club

This Victorian house comfortably sleeps 14 and is ideal for families. The house itself has been tastefully furnished and has ample room for all the family to enjoy. It has a secure south facing garden and off street parking for two cars. A beach hut on the main beach is also available (at the owners discretion) for a small extra fee. Linen is included in the price but we ask you to bring your own towels.

About Virginia Hoddinott

My husband came to Abersoch when he was a toddler and enjoyed many fantastic family holidays there growing up. When we married he introduced me to Abersoch and we decided it would be the perfect place to take our own children. We have had the house for about 15 years and have had some magical and treasured holidays with family and friends over the recent years.

What makes this house unique

Gwynfa House is an extremely relaxing place to holiday as it has been kitted out especially for families. Everything is walkable to and from, so we park the car and don't usually use it unless going surfing to Hells Mouth. We love spending the day on the beach and walking back in the late afternoon for a shower and glass of wine!

Fantastic family holiday home. Great location.

We've been coming to Gwynfa for several years. It is a well equipped, spacious and clean house in a perfect location between the main Abersoch beach and village. With a lovely garden and outside eating area and plenty of indoor space for families to spread out in, the house can cope with all weathers! The newly refurbished beach hut is a huge bonus.

Perfect for special annual family get-together

Gwynfa House is perfect for a large family holiday and get-together in an ideal location, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Abersoch village whilst being only a couple of minutes walk from the main beach, harbour and shops.We have enjoyed staying here since my great-nephews and great-nieces were babies and are all excitedly looking forward to returning next year for our 14th magical visit!

The house has a wonderfully happy atmosphere and character providing spacious accommodation in which 13 or 14 people can relax comfortably. Outside has the advantage of a secluded south facing large garden, BBQ and outside dining and parking areas.

The house benefits from a cosy kitchen (with Aga), extra utility with large fridge freezer and an extra drinks fridge, a brilliantly sized dining room and family sitting rooms for young ones and oldies alike to enjoy various entertainment together (or separately!), including Wifi and Sky.

Virginia who owns the house is always a joy to talk to; we would certainly recommend staying at this property.

Wonderful, laid-back, perfectly-located home

This was at least the fourth time my golfing pals and I had stayed at Virginia's home-from-home. It's three minutes walk from the beach and two from the harbour, out of the back gate. It's also 2 minutes from the pub and village centre.

It's a gorgeous, much loved former family holiday home and you can tell there have been many happy holidays there - it has a great "vibe" if that's not too daft a thing to say.

However many of us there are there is always room, and the profusion of reception rooms is really useful; lovely terrace and garden at the back too, plus ample parking. It's in the middle of things but also secluded. It's really all you could want. It even has two TVs with skysports!!

In addition Virginia is courteous, charming and friendly (this is by email and phone - we've never met!)

I would recommend Gwynfa absolutely and without reservation. Talking of reservation - you should definitely make one!

Great house great location

Great house in the perfect location. I am only reluctant to write an honest review as I don't want the world to find out about such a great place! We have been lucky enough to rent gwynfa on numerous occasions and it really feels like a home from home. It's location is great. Equidistant from the beach and town meaning that it's easy to holiday with young kids or different generations as it's so quick to walk everywhere there is no hanging around waiting for each other and no stress if young members want to head back from the beach early. It's well maintained and always clean. The utility and hallway make beach prep easy and good decontamination areas from the beach. The garden is large and makes wetsuit washing and kayak storage easy as well as being perfect for post beach BBQ's. There are three lounge areas which mean different generations or family groups can cohabit easily! Honestly it's a great house and will always be a favourite with our family

Perfect location for groups / families

This substantial house sleeps 12 in 5 bedrooms. With 2 bathrooms and a downstairs loo it is ideal for 2 families or a group. We have been staying in Abersoch for 30 years and at Gwynfa for 13 years - since finding it it is our first choice. With a large utility and space to store everything, 2 lounges, a large dining room for groups or families after a long day walking or on the beach and 2 lounges to take the pressure off it is a great house even if the weather isn't kind. The location means you can park your car up for the week and walk 200m to the village for browsing and stocking up on food and a few good restaurants, or 300m from the back garden to the beach and 3 beach cafes, sailing, swimming and beach huts to rent. The large enclosed garden is great to BBQ and secure for children and dogs. If you go make sure you complete your visit with a walk up Llanbedrog Headland and a visit to the café on the beach.

Two minutes walk from the Abersoch main beach. The garden gate at the bottom of the property leads out to the Beach Road.


Pwhelli train station is a 10-15 minute drive.

Car not essential when you are staying at the house, but probably needed to get there!
