Tucked away off the main thoroughfare of the town, the property is one of a handful of modern style cottages with ample private parking within a minutes stroll of all the amenities, facilities and attractions that this popular tourist resort has to offer including an eclectic mix of shopping, cafes and restaurants. Set over three floors and recently refurbished, Mrs Tiggywinkles is light and airy and presented in neutral shades with splashes of accent colours throughout. The apartment is perfect for couples as it has two bedrooms one double and one twin. The property enjoys distant views of the surrounding fell ranges. First floor: Property has a new Nevo Rointe electric central heating system, double glazing and comprises: Lounge/Diner: With contemporary furnishings, TV and DVD. Kitchen: With gas cooker, fridge/freezer, dish washer and microwave. Bathroom: With Heritage suite comprising shower over bath, WC and wash basin. Why Joanne Bell chose England

Mrs Tiggywinkles really benefits form being in Windermere as it central and has both train and bus station within walking distance. Also you can walk to Bowness and jump on a ferry and this will take you on Lake Windermere. There are great restaurants on your doorstep and our local supermarket Booths. It is set back away from the main street so has little noise, yet within a stones throw away from the town centre. Mrs Tiggy's has private parking for one car.

What makes this apartment unique

The property benefits from private parking, also being so close to the train station you could leave your car at home. It is bright and modern with all the benefits of being home from home. The best thing about this property is your ability to walk from your front door to find lovely walks,

restaurants, local shops, and all the other benefits that come with being in a Great Location!!!

Beautiful cottage tucked away!

A gem of a cottage set back from the main road in Windermere, but so quiet, you wouldn't realise it. Everything you need for your stay, toilet rolls, washing up stuff, bin liners and even fresh milk. A lovely home made lemon drizzle cake was waiting for us too! A lovely base that was just the right size that 4 of us did not feel cooped up. Walking distance to Bowness and on the doorstep of Windermere, with lots of lovely eating establishments and shops. Can't wait to return and will definitely be booking Mrs Tiggywinkles again :-)

we had a wonderful week exploring the lakes. The guides in the apartment were again very useful in helping us decide where to go and what walks to do. Apartment was ideally located for getting out and about either walking or by car. will hopefully be back soon

Mrs Tiggywinkles is a very comfortable and well equipped cottage in an excellent location.

There was so much to do here including hiring bikes to cycle along the lake shore to castle Wray, walking to Water head via Orrest Head and catching the ferry back and exploring the many trails in Grizdale Forest. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great location and nice decor.

We had a lovely week at Mrs Tiggy-Winkles. The kitchen was well equipped so we cooked each night and there was the bonus of a dishwasher. No washing machine but the launderette is opposite so no issue. The house was very clean and the beds and bedding comfortable; we all slept well. Although we had a car, the bus and train stops are so close by that you can easily manage without. There is also a large Booths nearby that has the most amazing stock of beer from all over the UK and the rest of the world. We would definitely return.

This was the perfect place to stay to explore the lakes. It is very tastefully furnished to a high standard. It is a great location for restaurants and cafes and individual quaint shops. We ate out every night, and visited some fantastic places. Mrs Bell was very pleasant and helpful, and gave us lots of tips where to go. Would definitely recommend a visit and would certainly come back again.

Very good base for the Lake District

Four of us stayed for a week in this apartment. It is right in the centre of Windermere but tucked away down an alley so is surprisingly quiet. The apartment is compact but well appointed and with two bedrooms and two bathrooms is fine for two couples. It has one easily accessible car park and is particularly well equipped with everything needed for self catering. It is a great base for exploring the Lake District and being in the middle of Windermere there are many restaurants, supermarkets and other facilities in walking distance.

This holiday rental is highly recommended.

About the local area

Lake Windermere is perhaps the best know area in the Lake District and Windermere village itself is about 1km from the lake. The lake stretches from Waterhead, near Ambleside, to Lakeside at its narrow southern end, over 10 miles in length and the largest lake in England. Wooded slopes dotted with cottages and houses line its shores, while the water itself is usually busy with ferries and yachts.

Windermere is not as busy as it’s near neighbour, Bowness-on-Windermere, but has its own charms and attractions. It has excellent amenities and a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars all within easy reach. The village has good public transport links with its own train station and bus routes.



The Lake District boasts a host of lakes, tarns and meres. However should you wish to visit the sea, Arnside (possibly has the best chip shop ever!) is only 18 miles away, with Grange and Morecambe Bay just a little further.
