Chalet in Les Collons, 4 Valleys, Valais, Switzerland

The chalet is bright, spacious and well-equipped with panoramic views of the Rhone Valley, Bernese Alps and Matterhorn.

Located five minutes from Les Collons with superb skiing in winter: Trabanta ski-lift connects directly to the 4 Vallées ski area, its 80+ lifts and 400kms of pistes. In Summer it is great for hiking and biking.

The space

The chalet is comfortable and well laid out with lots of space for up to 10 adults. It has five bedrooms, each with an en suite bathroom (beds can be configured as doubles or singles). There is also a TV room/study off the living area with a sofa bed suitable for two children. A sixth toilet/shower room adjoins the TV room.

The chalet has a fully-equipped modern kitchen with ceramic hob, double oven, microwave, dishwasher and coffee machine. It is exceptionally well-stocked with kitchen utensils, tableware and glassware.

The kitchen adjoins the dining and living areas. The dining table seats 12, and is connected to the living area which has a wood burning stove. Both enjoy views across the valley through floor to ceiling glass sliding doors, through which there is access to the wrap around balcony, the patio and outdoor tables and chairs. The outdoor jacuzzi hot-tub fits 6 people and is a perfect way to end a long day on the slopes.

On the ground floor is a fully equipped utility room (washing machine, dryer and ironing equipment), and a boot room (heated boot rack, ski rack and space for everyone's ski gear). Through the boot room you can access directly to the garage which has space for one car. There is space for three further cars to park outside.

On a practical note the chalet has 2 HD TVs, 2 DVD players, a blue-tooth-enabled hifi/radio system and wifi throughout. For those who might find themselves having to work, there is a colour printer in the TV room/study. There is also a selection of books, games and DVDs. Please make sure these are are left complete and in good condition for the next occupants.

For small children we have one high-chair and a travel cot for your use.

Please feel free to email me with any questions up to and during your stay. Should you require immediate assistance while you are there you will be able to contact my local property manager directly by email and phone.

The manager will check you in and out, will take the damages deposit from you and you will settle cleaning and laundry charges with him directly. Each guest costs an additional CHF65 for all sheets, towels and cleaning.

Our manager is also able to provide airport transfers, in-chalet catering and baby-sitting services. These must all be booked well-ahead of your arrival and you will pay him directly for these.

Other things to note

Please note that if you are driving from outside Switzerland you must have chains or winter tyres. Cars rented inside Switzerland are fitted accordingly.

A Magical Chalet in a beautiful resort

We have just returned for the second year running from Chalet Brock in Les Collons. The chalet was warm and welcoming when we arrived, with the table laid for supper. The concierge could not have been more helpful, giving us information about the chalet and its surroundings. We didn’t use the dine-in service but the menu looked delicious.

We were two families with teenage children and there was plenty of space, in this immaculate chalet which is only one year old. Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds, crisp white sheets, sumptuous towels, and traditionally decorated with a lovely log burner. Also a large television, DVD player and wifi – great for the children! Oh, and stunning views from the balcony too!

Our ski boots where warm and dry each morning as they had been on the boot dryer overnight. The ski bus was at the end of the road although we didn’t need it. At the end of the day, sitting in the hot tub under the stars surrounded by snow in the peace of the mountains was magical.

Les Collons itself is a small village with Thyons minutes away (a couple of restaurants, a supermarket, a very friendly ski hire shop, and lifts up to the Veysonnaz ski area – ski school, tepee bar and restaurants). The nearby villages of Veysonnaz and Vex are quaint traditional Swiss villages, full of character and local charm with shops and restaurants. You can also take a Gondola from Veysonnaz. Siviez is 25 minutes’ drive, and is probably an easier start point if you want to get access to the full Verbier ski area.

The Chalet is an easy 2 hour drive from Geneva airport with supermarkets in Sion on the way up if you want to shop before you get to the Chalet.

We had a fantastic holiday, and it was excellent value. We would highly recommend it.

25 minutes drive to house from Sion, the capital of Valais. Sion Airport does take certain short haul flights and is 2 hours by train from Geneva airport
