About the property

Cottage in Glororum, Bamburgh, Northumberland, England - Quiet Location, Just A 2 Minute Drive Or 20 Minute Walk To Bamburgh Village

Step into Koru (www.glororum.com) - a traditional stone cottage with a comfortable, modern interior, occupying an enviable position with views to both the coast and rolling countryside - the best that Northumberland has to offer - and just a couple of minutes drive to Bamburgh Beach.

The downstairs hall leads into the two bedrooms, decorated in calm, coastal colours. Opposite the main bedroom is the luxurious, Travertine-tiled bathroom with large bath, shower, underfloor heating and heated towel rail. Next door is a well-equipped utility room with washer dryer and sink.

Take the stairs up to a spacious, light and airy open plan living area with coastal and castle views to the front and countryside to the back. Step outside onto the rear, glazed balcony to watch the sun set over the Cheviots and the starry skies appearing overhead. Or take a comfy seat by the gas log-fire to read a book or mull over a glass wine. Perhaps the best spot is chilling out at the breakfast bar looking towards the framed majesty of Bamburgh Castle.

Send your children out into the sheltered garden below to play while you watch the birds migrating to the Farne Islands and the ever-changing skies. If, alas, it rains, catch up with favourite shows on internet TV, put on a Bluray or listen to your music through the Bluetooth stereo. Or bake a cake! The kitchen comes equipped with most essentials including microwave, smoothie maker, cake tins, gas hob, hand held mixer, electric oven, fridge freezer and, most importantly, a dishwasher.

A 20 minute walk or quick drive will lead you into the picturesque village of Bamburgh to discover a medieval castle and fabulous restaurants and pubs. The spectacular Bamburgh beach is about a two minute drive from the cottage - or go a little further afield to Budle Bay, home to hundreds of sea birds, or Holy Island. From Seahouses (about 15 minute drive), you can catch a boat out to the Farne Islands to see seals, puffins, terns and if you are really lucky - Bottlenose dolphins.

Koru Cottage is one of four properties finished in 2013 called The Granary, which sits within a group of traditional stone farm buildings respectfully renovated into homes and holiday cottages. It is surrounded by fields of wheat, rape seed and sheep.

Please visit www.glororum.com for more information, details about special offers and a secure online booking system. Only our 7 day rates are shown on Owners Direct - please check our site for shorter break options and variable changeover days.

What a lovely place!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely bright property, very well equipped indeed. Sitting on a bug free balcony, having supper and watching hares playing in the field - magic. And a great place for the outings we wanted - Farnes, Holy Island, Dunstanburgh, Alnwick and Cragside - and of course Bamburgh castle.

Caroline was very helpful in advance, we would certainly return and recommend to others.

Owner's Response: Hi. Thank you very much for you kind review. I'm glad you enjoyed an alfresco dinner on the balcony and the hares made an appearance for you. They are quite entertaining. You were wonderful guests (sorry I apparently ran out of time to review you!).... an you are most welcome any time. All the best. Caroline.

Absolutely stunning

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful property in a fantastic location, only a 20 minute walk into Bamburgh (no footpaths most of the way though so care needed). The "upside down" layout works perfectly and takes full advantage of the amazing views to Bamburgh Castle and the Farne Islands. The property is extremely well equipped, probably the best that we have ever stayed in and the Cottage was cosy and warm, with underfloor heating in the bathroom a special treat! We have no hesitation in recommending this Cottage and I wouldn't be surprised if we made a return visit.

The perfect place for the Northumberland coast

  • 5 of 5

We spent a week at Koru and it was one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. A mile out of Bamburgh, the cottage is fitted to a very high specification - everything from the comfortable furniture, smart TVs, and the well equipped kitchen to the underfloor heating in the bathroom. Caroline, the owner, has thought of lots of small things that others don't provide to make the stay five stars. In Bamburgh itself, there are a number of very good places to eat, from restaurants to tea rooms and the sandy beaches are expansive and plentiful. Within easy reach of Holy Island, Anwick Castle and lots of other places to explore.

Relaxing Cottage Picturesque Northumberland Coast

  • 5 of 5

Highly recommend this beautifully furnished cottage! Very relaxing and so comfortable in a perfect location for the gorgeous Northumberland coast! The cottage was really well equipped, very clean and we had everything we needed and more! Complimentary welcome pack was provided, which was very good including an excellent red wine! There are lots of books, games, DVDs etc. Living area is on the first floor giving wonderful views both back and front and towards Bamburgh Castle! Very good restaurants nearby and fantastic walking! We would certainly return to one of the best cottages we have stayed in!

Just perfect !

  • 5 of 5

If I could give this cottage 10 stars I would ! Caroline has thought of everything and the attention to detail is outstanding. From the minute we stepped in we felt at home and the lovely welcome basket made sure we settled in straight away.

The cottage is ideally situated with lovely views and to see Bamburgh Castle across the corn field really is the best start to any day.

This cottage could not be faulted and we shall certainly be making a return visit !

Perfect family cottage

  • 5 of 5

If you want to explore Northumberland with the family then I suggest you stay at the beautiful Koru cottage. From the welcome box (nice red for me) to the rooms set up perfect for my two little ones (4 year old boy and newborn) we felt at home straight away. They even provide all you need for a fun filled beach day, we tried dune sledging for the first time!! Then you can come back and relax and look at the majestic Bamburgh Castle from the comfort of your sofa. The whole family has come home really relaxed. Thank you Caroline for making us have a special first family holiday with our new baby and son x
