Casa Hiraeth has been sympathetically and beautifully renovated and expanded over the past few years, giving it all the modern conveniences that you would expect. Casa Hiraeth is built around a traditional inner courtyard, which gets the morning sun, making it an ideal spot to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Off the courtyard is a stunning and completely private swimming pool and multiple terraces with uninterrupted views over the hills, perfect for watching the glorious sunsets. One of the terraces is equipped with a relaxing outdoor lounge seating area with fireplace, kitchenette, BBQ and dining area, perfect for evening al fresco dining. Another terrace has a Moroccan style covered seating area, ideal for secluded and shaded outdoor dining. Both patios are equipped for year round use with lighting, fires, Wi-Fi and power.

The variety of terraces allow for ease of experiencing the typically Spanish outdoor-living lifestyle. The house also benefits from a large open-plan kitchen-dinner with snug/lounge area and wood burner for the cooler months and beautiful distant views of the undulating countryside. There is also a comfortable lounge with wood burner for cosy winter evenings. Upstairs there is a master bedroom with large ensuite, which overlooks the rolling hills and olive groves. There are two other smaller bedrooms, one double and one twin, which both share a family shower room. All bedrooms come equipped with air-conditioning for those warm summer nights.

Additional facilities include an office area with WiFi, PC & printer, which enables the ability to work remotely. Throughout Casa Hiraeth, there is an abundance of traditional Andalucian characteristics, which add to its authentic and individual charm, along with those necessary modern trappings that we all need. There is a secure driveway and parking area sufficient for two vehicles.

About Rachael & Alun Parry

We both mainly work in the UK and as our jobs are mainly computer based, we are lucky that when time allows, we can escape the hustle and bustle of city living and escape to our holiday home retreat, working from our office area in Casa Hiraeth.

We also have three teenage daughters, who also thoroughly enjoy the activities available in the surrounding area, which includes cycling, strolling through olive groves, kayaking on Lake Iznajar, and even skiing in the Sierra Nevada’s mountains during winter months.

Why Rachael & Alun Parry chose Fuente del Conde

We searched a long time and were delight to find such a beautiful traditional Spanish house in this ideal location with stunning views.

Casa Hireath is unique because it is on the edge of the very friendly village called Fuente Del Conde, which has a supermarket perfect for freshly baked bread in the mornings and Antonio’s bar and restaurant, which serves fabulous Andalusian cuisine.

The village is set within the undulating countryside with views of olive groves and close to the Moorish town of Iznajar with its stunning lake, beach, beach bar/restaurant and water sports facilities. Being centrally located, we all enjoy day trips visiting the historical and cultural cities of Cordoba, Granada, Seville, Malaga and the Costa del Sol. Fast rail links even make a trip to Madrid possible!

What makes this house unique

Casa Hireath being a traditional Spanish house is built on the hillside, so has a variety of terraces with views of the rolling hills, perfect for a relaxing drink and watching the fabulous sunsets. My favourite spot is the top terrace in the early morning sun with a cup of tea enjoying the glorious views.

There is also a private internal courtyard, ideal for alfresco breakfasts. Family breakfasts can also be enjoyed in the large open plan kitchen-diner overlooking the olive groves, and with the shuttered windows wide open so benefiting from the cooling breeze.

The stunning large swimming pool is perfect for a cooling dip, and with it being lit we also enjoy midnight swims!

In the evenings or winter nights the cosy lounge with wood burner is a great place to relax with the whole family

Notes on accommodation: This is a large house that has plenty of outdoor space to cater for all ages but as a whole THE HOUSE IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN UNDER 10 YEARS OLD that require supervision due to its sprawling nature. Outside: Stunning and private large swimming pool 21ft x 13ft, that benefits from not using chlorine. Sunbathing patio around the pool with sun loungers and additional seating. Pool and pool area can be lit in the evenings. Terraces: Upper terrace with open or covered dining area, with dining table for six, kitchenette with sink, fridge and BBQ. Plus outdoor lounge area with sofa, chairs and occasional table. Middle terrace with open or shaded area and Moroccan style dining table and built-in sofas. Courtyard with open or shaded dining area, dining table for four and private sunbathing area and occasional seating Utility Room: Utility room with washing machine, iron, ironing board and cleaning facilities. Stunning house and location!

Beautifully decorated, traditional cortijo style house and designed for modern living, perfect!

We were spoilt for choice with the variety of terraces and areas to relax, unwind and enjoy the fabulous weather during our stay in November.

We had a fantastic couple of weeks and spent many days relaxing and eating on the terraces with stunning views across the undulating hills and olive groves as far as the eyes could see.

We didn’t travel too far afield, so made the most of the local restaurant / bar (Los Pajaritos), which always had a great atmosphere. Antonio (the owner) made us feel extremely welcome and the food was very good, especially the steaks. Antonio stocked an impressive gin selection and his G&T’s were huge, so rather fortunate that Casa Hiraeth was close enough to amble back to, at the end of an enjoyable evening. We also found the local shop exceptionally handy and being able to stroll down to get fresh bread in the mornings was a real bonus.

We would thoroughly recommend Casa Hiraeth and its location, which we will definitely be coming back to explore further next year.

Stunning house and location

Weather was absolutely fabulous, so made the most of the far reaching views over the olive groves from the different terraces and watching some amazing sunsets too. The house was gorgeous, beautifully decorated with a great mix of traditional architecture and modern conveniences. The bonus was the friendly bar/restaurant in the village and the local store, where they even sold freshly made croissants, perfect for a relaxing breakfast in the sun, complete perfection!

Just perfect

Clean, cosy and well equipped house. We particularly enjoyed the salt water pool and the marvellous view. If you don't mind climbing stairs, this house is perfect for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful part of Andalusia, not far from Córdoba and Antequera.

Casa Hiraeth

We had a lovely but all too brief stay at Casa Hiraeth in August this year. It gave us a chance to hang out as a family with our three teenage sons, relax by the pool and eat, chat and chill on one of the many terraces. Rachael and Alun's Andalucian home is delightfully Spanish and very stylish with everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. It is probably the best equipped villa we have stayed in over the years. It is definitely a home from home. A big thumbs up from me for the selection of coffee machines! The village is lovely and peaceful and has a little supermarket and local restaurant a few minutes from the house. It is an easy drive to Granada from here too and well worth the visit. I wish we had stayed longer.

The perfect holiday villa

Casa Hiraeth is the perfect holiday destination. It has everything you could wish for. The villa itself is a great blend of traditional village house and modern comforts. If travelling in July or August, you'll be pleased to find the very effective air conditioning in the bedrooms. The pool is a great size and the lack of chlorine a real bonus - and totally private. The terraces are the highlight, the only downside is choosing which one to relax on. The top terrace has amazing views over the olive groves, and many an evening was spend cooking up feasts on the BBQ whilst sipping Cava and watching the sun set over the mountains. The location is also perfect. The village has a fantastic restaurant (less than a minute walk up the road) and a very handy supermarket for the daily breakfast order of chocolate croissants and bread. Also ideally located for day trips to Granada, Cordoba, Malaga, and Ronda, and potentially to Sevilla (about 2 hours drive). Waterparks and the sea are about an hour away, although you have a great beech on the lake which is only 15 mins away, where you can hire kayaks and pedalos. The area is very quiet, and very few tourists, so a great opportunity to experience the real Andalucía . Communication with the owners and their local representatives was excellent. Not recommended for small children, due to the steep steps and rambling nature of the house (ads to the charm) but highly recommended for everyone else.

There are also fast rail links about 30 minutes away from Fuente Del Conde, giving access to all Malaga, Granada and other major Spanish cities.
