Ysgubor Treyhysbys is situated close to St Davids. Tracks and footpaths offer unlimited walking in beautiful surroundings within the only coastal National Park in the UK. A boat trip will take you to the magical islands of Ramsey, Skomer or Skokholm. Visit them in the Spring to see carpets of bluebells and campion. The area is ideal for birdwatching. If you visit in the Autumn you will see many seal pups resting on inaccessible beaches. St Justinians lifeboat station and the tiny harbour of Portclais and Caefai Bay are all worth a visit. This newly rebuilt property is eco-friendly with under floor heating and hot water supplied by ground source heat pump and solar water heating. The lighting is almost all low energy and the house is double glazed and well insulated throughout. A wood burning stove offers additional heating. The sunny conservatory offer a warm and sunny place to relax and enjoy the scenery. Set in its own garden with table and chairs and parking for several cars. If a holiday in a wonderful location with a touch of luxury to relax is what you require - look no further!

Wonderful rural retreat

Had a wonderful weeks holiday at one of the most well appointed and distinctive holiday cottages that we have stayed in. Ysgubor Trehysbys is within easy reach of St Davids and the beautiful surrounding Pembrokeshire countryside. The renovated property has been well designed, is well maintained and the layout of the rooms are ideal for a relaxing holiday, whether you have children or are spending time with friends. The house makes full use of the stunning views towards St. Davids and Whitesands Bay with a conservatory overlooking a large garden, ideal for children, especially in the summer months. We would thoroughly recommend this property and hope to return in the near future.

Coast/Beach:

Whitesands beach is popular with surfers and is approx 1.5 miles away within walking distance. Newgale, Barafundle and Newport beaches are large and all easily reached by car within the hour. The area has numerous small beaches and coves along the coast, some sandy others pebbly. Horse riding, fishing, birdwatching, photography and many other interests to be found with a few miles of the cottage.

Travel:

Cardiff airport is approx 2.5 hours drive away. Railway stations can be found at Haverfordwest and Fishguard both approx 30 minutes by car. There is a ferry terminal at Fishguard/Goodwick to Rosslare in Ireland. Hertz car hire is also available in Goodwick. There are local buses running along the coast and into the main towns but the use of a car would definitely be an advantage to explore the area.

Distances:

St Davids cathedral and Bishops Palace are only 2.5 miles away. The county town of Haverfordwest is approx 12 miles away. Folly Farm and Oakwood Theme Park are great days out for the family and less than one hour away by car. The popular towns of Tenby and Saundersfoot are also less than one hour. Island trips can be arranged from St Davids. Pembroke Castle is well worth a visit, steeped in history.

Further Details:

St Davids is the closest city for banks, supermarkets, local shops and restaurants. Haverfordwest has larger shops and supermarkets. There are ancient castles, and iron age forts, cromlechs and standing stones in the area. The special quality of light and clean atmosphere has attracted many artists and craft people to the area. Galleries, potteries glass and slate shops and lovely gardens with tea rooms all offering local goods. Throughout the year there are music festivals, concerts and theatres.

There is a sink and storage cupboards. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen is supplied and tea towels. There are some cleaning materials. The property is cleaned between lettings. Towels can be supplied with an additional charge of £3 each Please ask when booking. A travel cot and highchair can be arranged if required.
